More color on lout in white hat, dirty hit fat daddy, useless college club daddy. Ummm what? I love that two grown men are arguing about a 13 year old lacrosse team. But here you are…hit the wall!
Where else am I going to hear about the Hot Cherries travel team and the exploits of 40 year old coaches acting like adolescents. Only to be out done a couple of dads who believ their child will be playing on Memorial Day weekend in 5 years.

That kid from Wissahickon is incredible. Radnor is still the top team then Deast, Dwest, maybe Spring Ford and Springfield but Wissahickon is stepping up to that second tier.
Downingtown east has 40 players on their team both JV and Varsity. Don’t bring up the school population game to make Rustin look better.
uote=Anonymous]Downingtown has 866 boys who attend the school according to the PIAA while Rustin has 466. So you are telling me that having another 400 boys who can potentially play lacrosse is not an advantage when you are putting together your 40 man roster? The point is yes they have 400 more boys, but none of them play lacrosse so it doesn’t matter. Those extra 400 boys does nothing for them since they barely have anyone even playing lacrosse at east. East struggles to field a JV team, begging kids to play the sport practically. When Rustin on the other hand yes has less boys at their disposal hypothetically, but has a bigger team. Maybe east should start complaining that they have a 40 person team vs radnors 70 person team and that it’s not fair. Think about it logically, East has zero advantage over Rustin because of population don’t try and play that game.
the issue is the make up of the kids....due to STEM DEast has a large base of kids that have zero desire to play any American sports
Go on.......
Hold on....Downingtown East and West have successful feeder programs at the rec level and very good middle school teams. Don't act like they can't get kids. They have a clear advantage over the smaller schools like Rustin, Henderson, WC East, and Shanahan.
West had 80 plus try out East has 1/2 that number… Tennis and cricket #’s are thru the roof at East
Correct- East had about 40 kids go out for high school lacrosse. Lionville which feeds East had less than 25 kids go out for the team, that’s 7th and 8th combined.
Just a little budget would go a long way. For West or East. Admins give just twenty or thirty k for middle school and there would be state titles back. With contracts at that level and great pride in programs it is back to the old days with a few years.

Shanahan was very lucky for a number of years because they had Freedom owner pushing hard/recruiting to get talent around his kids. Any coincidence the program has dropped off of a cliff since his kids have all graduated?

You may not have understood my question. Devon, PJP, and Shanahan all compete despite having enrollments significantly smaller then the other schools and no feeder systems.

I think the previous poster was saying that those schools aren't geographically bound like public schools and thus can recruit athletes from other areas to play.

Bates let go last Monday. EA played the InterAc Semi’s v Malvern without him on Wednesday. Surprised nothing from Phillylacrosse or Chandik about his firing.

I am not sure it was public knowledge more rumors going around. If you listened to the game Wednesday by SFNB the announcers even noted Bates not on the sideline and had no idea why. The story is still developing and not sure it will ever be fully known.

EA athletic director Todd Fairlie is not liked or respected. Alumni know this. Who would want to work under a guy that just fired Bates impulsively two days before a MP playoff game…in the middle of finals?

Applicants please note - administrators have no moral code. Videoing minors without their knowledge to try to set up coaches and players considered a strong plus.

Todd Fairlie so incompetent and clueless about working the lacrosse network. He is a delco guy who now acts like an elitist wearing Gucci loafers pawning the job search off to his secretary like he is a CEO. Instead of working the lacrosse network he posts on Indeed blindly searching for candidates. Spending his free time picking out brand new uniforms and hiring additional staff for his football team.
Probably has no clue who Marty is.

Probably has no clue who Marty is. They should bring in P.T. Ricci for an interview. Stand out player at Loyola, extensive coaching experience including a current assistant with with Whipsnakes, and a good guy. Not sure if he is a fit for EA, but my son really benefitted by being coached by him.

Bring in Marty to clean up this mess. Bring back the old assistant coach that was let go when the team stunk to replace the pro coaches that won and everyone liked. What other great ideas are cooking other than making a kiddy coach a first time head coach,,,,,maybe head to the friends league from the interac smh

Sphere of influence being the assistant JV coach is making sure the JV water bottles are filled up.Now trying to take credit for others work isn’t a good idea or honest.

New here. Really great forum here.
So Malvern wins the Inter-Ac (per usual). Do they go on to any other state level tourney? Or is the inter-ac the pinnacle of PA lacrosse and therefore no need to go further?

Funny this forum has been silent for months mostly as MP parents been shamed with their losing season, until now when they finally beat HS once. One win two losses against HS and HS win the interact but yippie you won a game. Did MP even break back into the top 25 yet as HS is two in nation.

Malvern does not compete in the PIAA as they recruit players to play in their sports programs. This prohibits them from entering the PIAA tournament since they would have a clear advantage over the PIAA schools. The inter AC is an incredible league but Radnor (who plays in PIAA) is the best team in the state. Malvern is probably the 5th or 6th best team in the state this year.

The MP seniors walk away winners. The HS senior walk away knowing they got bested in their last ever high school game. That one is gonna stick with them. I bet in 25 years, they will be posting on here complaining about hold backs like the rest of us.

Recruiting has nothing to do with why InterAc lacrosse (not just Malvern) does not compete in the PIAA. If that was the case how do you explain St Joe Prep competing in football?

St Joe’s is technically not supposed to recruit, but they obviously bend the rules. Their actions are exactly why they should be thrown out of the PIAA for football but they are hiding behind the rest of the Catholic league and district 12. Malvern recruits and they are good with that…..therefore they are not in the PIAA for any sport. Good institution with an incredible vision for young men. I know multiple athletes who were recruited to go to Malvern.

Yeah you went on a run and won the last game. HS is the Inter Ac champs for 2023. Typical MP arrogance but that is per usual, eh? How did football season go btw? New here. Really great forum here.

All schools recruit. Everyone's local public school recruits the top players in their district to try and keep them home and from going to Catholic/private schools. The Catholics and privates all recruit vs. each other. Anyone who doesn't think all school recruit is just dense and out of touch.

Disagree on the public school front. If your school currently has a strong team and program and you're a "top player", why would you want to leave? I am not aware of any one in our school district who went to the privates for lacrosse.

How significant is playing at a private school to getting recruited to play in college? When looking at D1 college rosters, I would estimate 80%+- of the players come from private schools. My son plays for one of the highly competitive club teams, where probably 75% plus of the players go to private school.
