Most of the kids on JV teams will never see the field at most MIAA schools. Their careers will end after sophomore season

Team is playoff ineligible if it used a V player this year.

When doesn't BL keep 50 on Varsity and only play 16-18 of them? They usually keep 5-7 juniors on JV and finish in the top 4 every year to make playoffs. They did not keep any juniors this year which is a good thing and look what has happened so far-one win over JC. There are probably 4-6 holdbacks that are junior age.... Buts its BL/Crabs. If you want 5-8 benchwarmers on JV, then you would be moving juniors back down to JV because there are only four sophomores on Varsity and one is a goalie. If Calvert Hall & BL did not put juniors on JV, they would not be top 4 every year. Move juniors up or cut them. Don't rig the system.

What if the families would rather be on JV and play than get splinters on varsity?

No idea what player you are talking about. The rule is a player can play JV if they have not played V in a conference game. I am sure the coaches know the rules and he did not play JV after he played in conference (assuming he has).

Pretty sure that would get called out before the game even started. All of these kids know one another. Also, who wants to be the kid that goes down to illegally play for their JV team?

The spread in the loyola Blakefield game is beyond disrespectful. The dons are coming to lake ave rolling through the Lakers. Dons win 14-7.

Also heard that kid gummy bear is coming out of retirement at chc to help with there poor organization.

V kids are allowed to play down, but those players must be submitted to league and approved. And those kids can’t play in both in same week.

Having any V kids playing down for any reason disqualifies that JV team from playoffs.

BL, Severn, STM, JC should be in the A conference in ALL sports!!!

Gilman could use some of their players. They [Censored] and no one would want to play for their coach. Sad a once decent program is now a bottom feeder.

St. Mary's must appreciate that Spalding W. That should help them land the 6th playoff spot. Also, props to Spalding on their stream. Never watched it before, but that is very well produced.

STM may not win another game this season. They don’t understand the word team. Lot of big school commits not a lot of high IQ guys. Where has the ND commit Fogo been? Such a disappointment of a year

Love seeing 40+ adults coming on here to bash 16-18 kids. Nice work dad; I’m sure your family and son would be proud of you. Keep up the strong work.

You play in the miaa for high level lacrosse all the games are stream. Kids want the spot light to get recruited. The next level is not for ever kid

I have seen plenty of streamed games and they are mostly poor quality, with cameras not zoomed in and not announced. All you hear is wind and parents yelling "wheels" & "off-sides" when there isnt anyone off-sides. Obviously not including the MIAA games of the week.

With 3 or 4 games left in the conference schedule, the playoffs are shaping up. Loyola, McDonogh and BL are locks with the top spot still up for grabs. 6 wins is probably the magic number to get in. CHC, SP and St. Mary's look most likely to get to 6. Severn will need to win out to get there. Gilman and Spalding need a miracle. MSJ or JC will get their first win on Friday.

Not a Spalding fan, but they have the best game day production. Their social media is up there with McDonogh who probably has the best IG.

They had their players picked before the season last two years and overlooked some good team players with great stick skills and lax iq.

Gilman has zero chance at ever being relevant as long as they have the current head school , head of board and lacrosse coach removed. Fat chance that will happen that insured a drop to the B conference. Why did they hire a rec coach with no coaching experience!

If you are starting to look at private schools don’t waste your time looking at Gilman. My son and I went to meet with Gilman. The coach is socially weird. Has zero personality and very little knowledge of the MIAA and what it takes to win. We chose another school. My observation, Gilman doesn’t care about lacrosse!! If they did they would recognize the coach doesn’t have it. I don’t see how or why they would have hired such an incompetent person.

I agree the priority at Gilman is education. If the School's management team (Board and Headmaster) can't manage to field a competitive lacrosse team while upholding the Institution's acclaimed academic standards, then be honest with your stakeholders and move down to the B Conference with the likes of Friends School.

Gilman should move down for what purpose? Winning a league title?
If any of the bottom teams moved down to the B-league it would be a mess.
Every A-team is ranked in the region. All 11. And Gilman is ranked #8.
