As long as the players are rostered and are 2028s in school then the True experiment is allowed. Flights, hotels etc likely run 1-2k or more per weekend for little lax ditka to play in a league of Md and Va teams so I would not say this is growing the game (10k per family, 90k for all fly-ins for 13 yr olds). Competition is good for the league and the sport and crabs 91 Madlax and others have had 1-2 fly-ins in the past. Nothing like the 8-9 rumored to be coming in for true “Chesapeake” who lost by 9 to FCA. Madlax has never flown a kid in for HoCo in 2028. Youre a clown. Just because kids are driving 3 hours from other states to play for 2028 Cap, instead of taking 90 minute flights from IL, doesn't mean you get your soapbox time, Clownholio. Crabs, Hawks and 91 could make your same weak claim even at the HS level, with kids DRIVING in from NY to FL. Really… clearly, again, you have zero clue about Madlax. There is a kid who has commuted from Charlottesville VA for 3 years. The rest— they ALL live within 10-15 miles of one another. Far closer proximity than Hawks (kids from DE), Crabs, 91, etc. you sound like Fauci. Not a ML parent, but what they've been able to accomplish with largely the same roster since third grade is pretty impressive. As much as it will pain people to admit, if there is any program that actually develops talent, it may be this one. Caveats: (1) it's weird how ML parents seem to think that having had an out of area, holdback player for 3+ years grandfathers him in so somehow doesn't count now, (2) they do rely on fly-in players for at least major tourneys, if not HOCO and (3) while good, their roster seems a little thin, as shown by the Monuments rebrand. Hawks goalie is from Delaware. Truly “out of state.” And the Hawks have several 2027 drop downs over the last 2 years. Multiple. But all elite teams have a number of holdbacks, and the Hawks and MadLax apparently each have one full time player who drives a long way for games and practices. That is different than flying in 9 kids from various places around the country, who are not regulars on the team, for big games. Out of genuine curiosity, why isn't it a compliment to the area and its coaching and lax culture that we've got a bunch of talent trekking to the area by plane, train and/or auto to participate in it and build it? Is it because an area kid (loosely defined as NoVA/DC/MontCo and HoCo MD though feel free to add/subtract/redefine) who'd play at a higher level of competition plays at lower level as a result of displacement, to which I say ok, that [Censored] but there's a great chance for goal setting and resilience and all that if they actually give a darn about whatever level they're playing. Or is it something else? A parent you think has been bamboozled into thinking they're getting something more than a chance to compete? There's so many opportunities to play if a kid wants to play, so what am I missing? How is this not a net win for our lax scene?

Appears Hawks and FCA have their playoff spots largely locked up, based on the eye test.
Who grabs the last two spots??
NL and Crabs both with 3 losses (!!!). Crabs still have to play Madlax and the Hawks. NL still has to play FCA. Could NL go from champs to not even making the playoffs? Wow!
Even if TRUE National loses to the Hawks, they prob slide into the playoffs.
1. Hawks 2. FCA 3. Madlax 4. True National
Hawks v True FCA v Madlax
Hawks v FCA rematch for the championship

The True illinois kids have been told since 1st grade that if they went out east they could not hang. You all should be ashamed of yourself. These KIDS just want to play high level lacrosse against the best KIDS out there and unfortunately they don't have that in the midwest. Grow the sport and remember the kids just want to play. Grow up and let them have fun. True lake Michigan. This could be an interesting competitive twist to the HOCO playoffs. Can someone shed light on the number of out of town kids that have been playing. Have these same kids played in each game, or does it vary depending on other circumstances? Said differently, did FCA play the same team as NL and Crabs? They brought a completely different team, competitiveness-wise, to play this past weekend (vs. Crabs & NL) than they had to play FCA in week one. 9 out of towners from Illinois, Nevada, etc. Guessing they didn’t bring in kids from out of town for the 91 game?

True flew in 8 or 9 players for the game against us today.
True is 100% everything that is wrong with youth sports. They won't win this league. Yet, poison the well.
Not competitive with local kids like every other team in this entire league.
They should be ashamed. Are the local true parents even remotely mad about this??
This is completely ridiculous. Does NL need to win out from here to even make the playoffs? 1-3 record, and they haven’t played FCA yet. Looking like a 3-4 record, and a likely Loss in the head to head matchup with True to determine 4th playoff spot. Ruh Roh!!!!

[quote=Anonymous]Anyone have any details on FCA vs BLC? How did FCA look, wondering if the new players made an impact. FCA or Hawks has to be the favorite for the 'ship. FCA fogos made the difference, I think BLC won one FO the entire game. That said was close than expected. FCA looks good, BLC looks improved as well.[/quote How man VLC helmets added to BLC's team? looked like three Was at the game in the miserable pouring weather. Let's be honest the new players on FCA make a huge difference. Pure size and athleticism of their new players (mostly holdbacks) is going to make a world of a difference. Most of their scoring was just off of bigger, stronger, faster, dodges....rather than offensive chemistry or flow. FCA was up by a lot, and then played a bunch of people in the second half that led to the score getting a little closer, but FCA still dominated every part of the game. FCA's offense has a ton of weapons, their FOGO is very good, the defense is average, and goalies are both average (I believe the starter is actually a 2029?). If you look at their midfield and compare #77 to #1 there is literally a foot and a half and probably 50 pound difference. That's not to take anything away from #1 as he is a very skilled player.......just hilarious to see the difference in size at this age. yeah 77 was big and had good speed dodging across top side, good velocity on his shot. I'll stay out of the holdback discussion, that topic's been done to death, will just say he's a pretty good player and teams will need to account for him in there. I think FCA had one other bigger kid but other than that I didn't get the sense they had a massive size advantage. Just crisper with the ball, fewer mistakes, and really stellar FOGO play. That said BLC was within one goal as late as the 3rd qtr. FCA first half goalie was strong IMO. Weather was absolute LaxinItUp. The best Middie from the 2027 FCA team dropped down, I think #13 or 14. He’s their best all around player, IMO. Was a student at 27 I’m told, and was dominant in the fall at the 2028 level. Very impressive if BLC was within one goal in the 3rd. That would lead me to believe that Hawks have the upper hand in elite. BLC is much improved. Could be in the fight for 4th in elite behind FCA Hawks and NL. ML is in free fall and crabs look the same as last year so 4th spot is wide open. Needless to say, this post has not aged well.

Hawks 7 NL 5. Good game with lots of talent. Physical game and could have gone either way. A few transition goals were the difference and stellar goalie play on both sides. Shot clock made things interesting. Well, Hawks were definitely not over-hyped. They are excellent and have a ton of talent. NL hung in there with good FOGO and elite Defense. NL has a lot of talent too and truly excellent coaching -- tied at halftime. Final score 7-5. I think there will be a lot of healthy parity up and down the Elite HOCO this year. Truly excellent coaching. Lol. Sure pal. 1-3. Great coaches.

Do us a favor and ask the "Baltimore" Crabs if all their players are from there or if the Hawks have some Pittsburgh kids
They have plenty of "imports" - true didnt start it but they are sure are following the blue print laid out by other clubs for HoCo
cry more so people dont see you doing it too Fair to assume True didn’t bring in their Nevada and Nebraska kids? Lost to Team 91.

That is solid D, regardless of their opponents (NL, BLC, and Team 91, who was able to score frequently against True and the Crabs). Some great matchups this next weekend.

Because its TRUE! Since joining this market TRUE has bought teams and ruined teams over and over again. Their failures in this market are laughable and now to compete they have transitioned to flying in players which is a joke. How many local kids do you think will try out for TRUE next year at 2028? Knowing that the only way to compete at the elite level is that they will practice all week and then sit out games while TRUE flies in their National team? In Illinois or Minn you may be happy with TRUE but around here very few respect the program because of how they do business. That is the bottom line.

They have run through their original Annapolis Cutters players at pretty much all age levels, and are kind of relegated to former 3rd-line Hawks and NL kids, plus some of the better former players from Cannons and Sidewinders. And at older age groups, decent players from Zingoes and HoCo. They need to settle into a Predators-like, Looneys-like non-elite role and just accept it....rather than flying in kids for the optics of "winning." Nothing wrong with being a solid AAA team. That is, unless you've promised your corporate overlords and a bunch of parents that you'd be "elite." I don't believe I'm saying this, but 91 MD's business plan towards 2028 eliteness (recruit, recycle, replace) makes far more sense than True Glen Burnie's wackadoodle strategy.

At this point, they should just go all-in with the fly-in scheme and let the chips fall. Would be more fair to Crabs and NL who are still in the playoff hunt. But I suppose consistency for the sake of fair competition is too much to ask of these people.

That is their model this year for sure. It will be interesting to see how many kids fly in to play against the Hawks. They may have 12 to 13 who knows. Word is True is putting out videos on their websites how they are building one of the best 28 teams in the country after beating Crabs and NL. I am sure they will do everything they can against the Hawks to bolster that narrative. No more posts until this weekend about Madlax.

There were out of town kids for all of their games in HoCo.
It’s been asked many times but how many kids are on their roster? Did HoCo seriously let them submit 40 kids lol?

No more posts until this weekend about Madlax.
They have Hawks and Madlax back to back. We'll know exactly where they stand Sunday afternoon.
The 3 wins may get them through to the playoffs. crabs have only one wins left. They are toast.
True still has the Hawks and Madlax. Two games they could lose and still make the playoffs. Depending on which True team shows up, True could easily lose all 3 of their final games—including to BLC. At this point, they should just go all-in with the fly-in scheme and let the chips fall. Would be more fair to Crabs and NL who are still in the playoff hunt. But I suppose consistency for the sake of fair competition is too much to ask of these people. I'm not a fan of Crabs or Next Level, but it doesn't seem right that in a league where one loss makes a massive difference in terms of who makes the playoffs, that they played an entirely different version of True than other teams played. I would agree with this, assuming the two versions are dramatically different. Did true not fly in the kids from out of town for the other games? I don't want to be too harsh on T91, but it's hard to fathom that 91's only win of the season came against the same or a substantially similar True National squad to the one that beat Crabs and NL. But welcome any True parents brave enough to poke their heads up and comment on this budding HOCO superpower.

I’m not a 91 dad, just saying… they will give everyone a tough time going forward as they continue to develop their sticks, and gain experience. They are absolutely capable of beating the bottom half of Elite. And in another year or two, they could be competitive up top as well.

If you were one of the local parents who put your son in the position of being humiliated each week when the fly-ins play instead of him and he stands and watches, would you try to defend the model?

Not asking them to defend the model, just trying to confirm if they have had flyins for all the games… well? We’re waiting….

Most elite teams, including 91, will have nearly complete roster turnover in the summers before 9th and 10th grade. And the current 91 starters left Kelly Post because it was nothing BUT stick skills, so don't anticipate growth there, either. They'll be on FCA White or Predators soon enough.

It's pretty well accepted that there's a fair amount of parity between the bottom of Elite and the top of AA teams. As you said, the only ones to dispute this are parents of kids at the bottom of Elite.
