It there any reason for your son to play travel lacrosse after eighth grade if he’s not all in on college lax? My son plays on an elite travel team and is a frequent contributor (but by no means a stand out). I expect he will make varsity as a freshman at the local Top public. But I think he would struggle at a top private. We’ve had friends who’s sons we’re in a similar situation and stuck with travel only to not play college lacrosse or play lacrosse at a school they would never otherwise go to. I’m thinking that travel lacrosse is nuts for 90% of the kids who do it. Thoughts?

True flew in 8 or 9 players for the game against us today.
True is 100% everything that is wrong with youth sports. They won't win this league. Yet, poison the well.
Not competitive with local kids like every other team in this entire league.
They should be ashamed. Are the local true parents even remotely mad about this??
This is completely ridiculous.

What is the difference between flying in kids and reclassed kids. You should want your kids to compete against the top player no matter where they come from.

This is completely ridiculous. What’s ridiculous is this whiny little B. Get over it. Great to have another very competitive team to help your kids get better. Or would you prefer your kids running around True Chesapeake 10-2? NL will be better from this experience than if they had played a weak True team.

This is completely ridiculous. They won fair and square, HoCo allows it. Changes the landscape of things however for now, it worked this week. Their FOGO, Midfielder, and #9 are legit. Shoutout to DM for not trying to dodge the bullet and making sure the game took place.

This is completely ridiculous. The Director of True Maryland/Virginia was hired and given a massive budget including massive marketing support 5 or so years ago and told to make a "footprint" for True in MD. As his prospects have dimmed, "allergy medicine" and all, I would guess this is his last ditch effort to field a championship team in ANY league at ANY age and to remain employed this summer. I think he'll do anything to make it appear successful. How it's gone so far: Bought Mason Dixon Lax - failed Bought the rights to Kelly Post - failed Bought the rights to Wolfpack - failed. This team was kicked out of a tournament for a blatant player age roster violation circa 2019 Ate up the rosters and coaches of Fallston - failed Started True Baltimore - failed, caught cheating on roster subs in HoCo 2021 playoffs (2028s), cheated other games and not caught. Started True Severna Park - failed Started True Eastern Shore - failed Started True VA State Team - failed Started True MD Girls - failed Bought Annapolis Cutters - still has a chance at not failing as True Chesapeake, but has underachieved, now flying in kids. Bought Koopers - promised to keep the Koopers brand and coaches, kept that promise for all of 45 days, all families will leave this summer.

Here is the problem….True cannot sustain with this model. They have sold the local parents on the notion that 50% of HoCo is reclassified and this is how they can compete, which is not true. Some local kids are playing and some are not. This is their last ditch effort to compete at this level, but the more they burn bridges with local families, the more kids they will need to fly in….the math will catch up to them, and with no local families left that will be interested in True, this model will go bye bye! Let them fly kids in, I agree that playing against better talent is more beneficial than playing a lesser team. I feel bad for any local families who drank the Kool Aid, but that was their choice….You might see a spattering of True teams left in this area in a year or two, but they will not be competitive…

True lacrosse is a national lacrosse program and they have four different teams in the boys hoco league They have a true Baltimore, a true DC, a true Annapolis, and there are lead true Chesapeake teams. Our true Chesapeake team pause to next level 12 or 13 to 3 back in March, and it wasn’t that close. next level one this league last year. They lost to the perennial powerhouse the Hawks 7 to 5 the first game of the year. I understand next level wants to win, everybody wants to win. this hoco league is the self proclaimed most competitive league in the country. True players from around the country do not have competitive local leagues and these players want to play against the best players in the country. This is why true lacrosse and these players are playing in this elite league. Yes true Chesapeake won a very close game today against next level, but they did get blown out last week by FCA. And that is OK. Because this is the best youth lacrosse league in the country. True may have players from all around the country playing on their different teams, but they do not have any, or certainly many, hold back kids, unlike most of the other elite club programs in this market. Don’t blame the player, or the team, blame the Game, it’s life, and unfortunately it is youth sports and includes almost all of the youth sports programs in this country.

What a bunch of clowns. No argument that bringing a national team to HoCo is clownish, but as a Next Level parent I am glad that they did. The two teams yesterday played a great game. 3-2 at halftime, 4-4 after the third, 7-5 final. With the national players, True is a mirror image of own team - two great goalies, great fogo, strong defense, good transition offense, well coached. in 7th grade lacrosse I would much prefer a good game like that than a blowout, which is what would have happened if True used only its regular players.

The True illinois kids have been told since 1st grade that if they went out east they could not hang. You all should be ashamed of yourself. These KIDS just want to play high level lacrosse against the best KIDS out there and unfortunately they don't have that in the midwest. Grow the sport and remember the kids just want to play. Grow up and let them have fun. True lake Michigan.

I'd thank the out of town parents for paying to fly their kids to your backyard to give you some competitive lacrosse you don't have to travel to. There's a big world out there, fun to get a taste of it.
