After the first few games, who’s hot, who’s not? Some teams were certainly way overrated preseason by Newsday and LILJ based on their performance thus far. Bayport is hot! We will come out on top on LI!

St. A will have great difficulty beating any good public. They play a weak schedule and are in way over their heads. Nobody cares that you beat St. D. Not impressed at all National Rankings are not impressed with St Ants either. Dropping like a lead balloon in rankings from 6 to 12 in such a short time. 3 LI Public’s in front of them now! Ward Melville, Northport and Wantagh. Probably Soon to be more? Facts are starting to speak louder than words. (USA lacrosse HS national rankings, just out) What is going on with that program? They have over 20+ top D1 commits (some riding the bench even in blowout games) and they have some of the best LI talent. How do you mess that up? It’s Doesn’t seem to be coming together over there this year? could it be coaching issues? Such a shame as that team should be top 5 nationally ranked with all that talent! Unfortunately, it will probably move out of the national top 25 this year? People will be scratching their heads. Asst Coach 2Wovles is all about marketing his biz and texting girls on the team. Jack K knows zero about girls lacrosse, he pays players to do his clinics so he can market then on social media. Guess St A's didn't do a back ground check on his passed as well.

Most of the top scorers score between four and eight points per game. And when they play weak competition, they normally are not allowed to score in the second half. If you were to let a top scorer loose on any of the weaker teams, they could easily score 15 points. Nobody can stop some of these girls they are to good.

We will come out on top on LI! Probably true. Amazing what that coach does with average talent. All the girls are decent but not superstar type players. He gets the most out of them and gets them to work as a team, which other coaches don’t do. Much like Spallina at SB

On our team if we are way up, our top scorers do not even go in 2nd half. We play 2nd, 3 rd strings.

They are stacked again this year; they are probably the best team they'll ever have. What is amazing is how they always lose when it counts. The coach is good and hard-working, but can't adjust in-game, and better coaches always find a way to beat him. LIC last year is a great example. Hopefully, for BBPs sake, the team is so extraordinary this year that they can overcome their coaching deficiency. They just might be that good. After this year, they will fade.

This is hilariously un-informed. BBP did indeed lose in the LIC to Manhasset last year, but handily won Suffolk C Division. The Year before that they won the LICs (beating Manhasset), and there were no States due to Covid, so they went as far as possible. The year before that was the Covid year (for the record, they had 9 D1 senior commits that year... but alas, we didnt get a chance to see if they could pull out a State championship). And the year before that they also went to the LICs, and lost to CSH who had to go in to a stall with 14 minutes left in the game in order to beat them. Not sure where this bridesmaid reputation is coming from; simply doesnt match the record.

BBP is a terrific team with terrific coaching as the two USUALLY go hand in hand. I place them at the top of the Suffolk food chain with Ward Melville and Northport. Who's beating them?

The stronger players appear to be represented well, if anyone was missed you should raise this somewhere else. Also, does this truly meet the standards of this forum? I think this IP address should be checked and banned if they continue attacking players on this forum.

Yet, they never get off Long Island. Long before COVID or any other excuse. CSH stalled. Mt Sinai did whatever. All excuses. It has been happening for probably a decade. Top talent players, with very little to show for it. So yes, we're all a little tired of hearing about Bayport.

Most other schools don’t have that depth. The schools that have lots of good players will always beat those with one or two stars. Bayport benefits from good players coupled with great coaching. He doesn’t tolerate selfish play

From USA U-19 #1 ranked players a few years ago, to the best girls from YJ now. Their entire starting line is either a D1 commit, or will be early September when the 2025s officially start. Every year Bayport is stacked. This year's team is basically the same as last year's team, just older and more experienced. With so much talent, this year may be the year they can overcome their coach's in-game incompetence.

Darien in a league of thier own. They come back to LI in May to play Pequa Darien will beat all LI teams. Aren’t they #1 rated HS? Yes they are. I watched them play St. Paul from MD today and beat them in a close game. A St. Paul's team that would boat-race every team on LI. St. Ant has talent comparable to both of these teams so i have no clue why they are underachieving. That attacker on Darien, #2 is the most talented girl i've ever seen at the HS level. She was known in the lax circles since a young age but now that word generational is the first thing being used to describe her by everyone in the community. She scored 7 goals vs a very good St. Paul team. Imagine what she's gonna do to St. Ant and Pequa

Both LI teams are going to be out coached and out played. Darien is going to eat their lunches. Darien is what a well coached team looks like. They know how to Use and coach their talent in all the right ways and their team does not underachieve. I don’t think any LI team this year would beat Darien or St Paul’s. Some due to lack of talent and others due to lack of good coaching. Darien is, and will remain the #1 girls HS team in the country.

As for #2, I’ve seen her play many times. Exceptional player for sure, but don’t forget that she has an amazing supporting cast at Darien. This allows her opportunities to get open. The same will happen for her at NC.

After the first few games, who’s hot, who’s not? Some teams were certainly way overrated preseason by Newsday and LILJ based on their performance thus far. Bayport is hot! We will come out on top on LI! Probably true. Amazing what that coach does with average talent. All the girls are decent but not superstar type players. He gets the most out of them and gets them to work as a team, which other coaches don’t do. Much like Spallina at SB Stop. Bayport always has top talent. Has for years and years. It's simple. Every year Bayport has top talent. Top, as in the best, and they do - look at their commits. Yet, they never get off Long Island. Long before COVID or any other excuse. CSH stalled. Mt Sinai did whatever. All excuses. It has been happening for probably a decade. Top talent players, with very little to show for it. So yes, we're all a little tired of hearing about Bayport. How many top ranked recruits do they have?…….How many girls are going to top 30 programs?………Not saying they don’t have good players, but it really comes down to depth and coaching. Not that difficult to understand What team would have a deeper bench than BBP ? Do help everyone understand. No one has a deeper bench than Bayport. No one ever does. 23’s, 24’s, 25’s, 26’s … somehow this school has an abundance of talent year after year. Will be interesting to see where their 25’s end up.

What BBP has over some other schools is great coaching! There are some schools on LI that have just as much talent, if not more? They just do not have the coaching. I think we can see what teams those are on LI that are falling short this year!

To answer this directly, between their current Seniors and Juniors, they have 10 D1 commits. Of those 10, 6 are going to schools ranked in the top 25. If you want to bring the Sophomores into it, they have 3 Sophs ranked in the top 20 recruits in the nation for their age group. So yes, they have lots of top ranked recruits. Yes, they have depth. And yes, they also have great coaching.

They do have the most talent of any team on LI right now. As for coaching, they have had the same coaches for years and have been in this position in the past and have not got it done. talent wins period!!

Bayport and Northport do not have the best players on LI, with exception of a couple of Bayports ‘25s, I don’t think either team has any top ranked recruits. What both teams have is the majority of girls who play travel lacrosse and have decent stick skills. Both teams have a large amount of players who will play in college. That is really what it comes down to. When they play other teams they can force turnovers when weaker girls are given the ball due to the lack of depth. Lacrosse is a team sport, and when most of your team can catch, throw, and run with the ball without dropping it, it’s no match for schools whose talent drops hard after 2 or three good players. This is not rocket science. It’s simple numbers.

But don't tell us how good they are until they actually win something big. No, LIC in the COVID year playing 3 games a week with no practices doesn't count.
