Saints take over on Friday and beat The Hall by at least 6. That sorry excuse for a team has nothing on the boys from Annapolis. The Cardinals will have no answer for the killer offense of STM. Dillon Torggler and the saints play lock down D all game and Saints control possession with ease. Gavin Burlace does nothing but Erik Chick (him) nets a hat trick in a 12-6 saints victory. Stack scores more than Gavin B. Can STM EMO produce without Chupp running point? it is unlikely but we will see.

STM dominants CHC 13-2. criminal goalie makes his return in the second half but it isn’t enough. stm navy commit is too much to handle early as he trickles in 7 goals. VMI ex stm player makes return for his 7th season and contributes 5 goals. jamie lily caps off the night with a btb Is kelly on the hot seat this year at CHC? Is the main benefactor of the program, who never had success prior to him taking over as head coach, on the hot seat? lol - no. More likely he leaves b/c he's burnt out and has no family in the pipeline.

Any truth that MSJ will be looking for a new coach next year? Trying to navigate the upcoming middle school to high school decision for my son and it seems like every school has issues.

With the MIAA schedule starting this week, here are the Anonymous Guy's power rankings. There are 3 tiers starting with the playoff locks, followed by the contenders and then the last tier. McDonogh, St. Mary's, and Severn are undefeated. CHC, St. Paul's, Gilman, and Spalding have losing records. MSJ has 6 wins, but hasn't played anyone. John Carroll has only played 2 games and just barely beat Class 1A Fallston?
McDonogh (6-0) Key wins: Gonzaga, Haverford, Noble & Greenough St. Mary's (6-0) Key wins: Georgetown Prep, Paul VI Severn (8-0) Key wins: St. Alban's, Landon, Penn Charter Boys' Latin (3-3) Key wins: Lawrenceville Losses: St. John's, Culver
Calvert Hall (1-3) Key wins: N/A Losses: Hill Academy, Lawrenceville, Malvern Prep Loyola (3-2) Key wins: Paul VI, Western Reserve Losses: Haverford, Hill Academy St. Paul's (2-3) Key wins: Landon Losses: St. Alban's, Episcopal (VA), Academy of New Church Gilman (1-3) Key wins: Western Reserve Losses: Georgetown Prep, St. Alban's, St. Anthony's Spalding (1-4) Key wins: N/A Losses: St. Alban's, Hill Academy, Western Reserve, Bullis
MSJ (6-1) Key wins: N/A Losses: Westtown John Carroll (2-0) Key wins: N/A Losses: N/A
This may be the year of parity, but a couple of teams have separated themselves from the pack already. McDonogh has to be the front runner even without #9 playing. They probably have put together the best season thus far. St. Mary's has a couple of good wins and a bunch of blowouts. They check in at number 2. Severn will surprise a lot of teams this year. If their fogo is healthy, they will go far. BL looks to be struggling on the offense end against good teams. They are still good enough to be in the top 4.
The 2nd tier should be extremely competitive. Calvert Hall has played a tough schedule and has only one win, over Westtown. They've played some close games in their losses, so don't count them out. Loyola has probably exceeded expectations, notching wins over Paul VI (Who beat Gonzaga) and Western Reserve. They will compete for a playoff spot. Which St. Paul's team will we get this year? They have 2 wins, but have played better than that at times. Consistency is the issue with SP. Gilman has more talent than people think. They will compete for a playoff spot and have tested themselves with a tough schedule. Spalding is attempting to rebuild. They will be a stretch to make the playoffs.
MSJ and John Carroll will bring up the rear. Their pre-MIAA season schedules resemble those of B conference teams. Maybe they want to build some confidence, but not much there to prepare them for league play.

LOL If you believe that Coach Kelly, who is a VP at Kelly Services, who in turn donates millions of dollars to Calvert Hall every few years including endowed scholarships, and whose recent "weak" season included banishing Loyola from the playoffs and losing by 3 in the MIAA semi-finals, and prior to that, what, 3 MIAA 'ships in a row????? is "on the hot seat," then we need to get you to bed, grandpa. Compare that to Coach U retiring (asterisk) at Loyola this spring....Coach U got to do some limited recruiting in 2018 (2022 class), and had the helm from the 2019-2023 season (recruiting classes 2023 - 2027). I believe his squads have played a total of 3? playoff games since 2019. I think his hot seat started when giving up an unnecessary playoff L to Boys Latin in 2021.

That’s a good point. Stack has great hands and footwork. He has been on a tear recently. Also, saints emo has not been performing. When chupp was at the point last year, they were on a different level.

Seeing as the saints have aquired new student sharpshooter named stack. Their championship aspirations are at an all time high. New shooter stack has replaced Gavin B at midfield and st Mary’s looks to lean on him to score almost every goal since stack seems to command respect almost everywhere he goes.

If you think that BL is loaded with transfers this year, you should see what they have coming in next year. Although they graduate some borders, they are bringing in some studs. Lefty sniper wyatt riehl from Mass. Super athletic player with quick feet and a rocket of a shot, he lit it up for Laxachusetts last summer.

I heard this stack fellow is the truth and plays a gritty, hard nosed game...This is especially impressive considering the fact that I've heard from numerous sources that all he does on the weekends is "Get Dialed" and "athletic"... he also will house 5 giant subs from jersey mikes for lunch.

He should be 1200 boys @CH and going to lose to a small coed school with 200 boys. STM has had their number the last few years.

The LB coach is released after this season ? Released/retired/contract not renewed, one of those. He's done on June 1. Coach U was a stellar assistant coach at BL and is in the BL Sports Hall of Fame. He'll be fine but taking over from Rubeor's white-hot pace of coaching and recruiting, and contending with Covid (as well as the perpetually nervous/retentive LB faithful) were - I think - too much for Coach U. It would be too much for 90% of coaches.

The mighty Dons begin their in conference play Friday at 7pm. Many believe that this game could expose the ineptitude of the LB coaching staff and the fraudulent players that are on the team. Catch the Gaels beating the Dons 14-6 under the lights.

I wish the MSJ Alumni that commented had a clue. MSJ just played the B conference champions and beat them 21-5 with MSJ’s 3rd and 4th string goalies playing. MSJ plays in A across the board for ALL sports. They don’t pick and choose which conference to play in based on the sport like McD, BL etc.

Maybe they want to build some confidence, but not much there to prepare them for league play. Just to clarify, St. Paul's loss is Episcopal from Pennsylvania, not Virginia. Very true....Wish the MSJ coach would get a clue....... Gotta get that win total up before losing every game once MIAA starts. As a proud MSJ alumni it is so disheartening, I wish they could drop down to B and actually be competitive in conference play. Their non conference schedule is embarrassing. a proud MSJ alumnus would never post this…keep trying lost

These MSJ kids are a resilient and hard working group of young men. They play almost every team tight. Without a plethora of holdbacks or a admissions dept buying the best talent around. And they make a lot of teams sweat. It is fun to watch. Kudos to them. Can’t wait till they knock off someone in the top half this year.

MSJ Parents always posting how things are turning around, meanwhile beating B and C teams. Nobody cares that MSJ beat Catonsville except for the the MSJ parents that are out of their comfort zone when they leave Frederick Ave.

Exactly - It's BK's job for as long as he wants it.

CH along with other MIAA teams are overrated and living on the MIAA glory days.

Breaking news: Stack has narrowed his choices down to 2 schools, John carroll and MSJ. He believes that they got really athletic and commanded respect all over the field in there big wins over powerhouses Catonsville and Fallston. He has been getting dialed with players on both teams recently, and confirmed that both teams have certified nail guns. Although it is not confirmed, it is likely that stack will attend whatever school wins this year.
