And looks like Crush got the lucky draw being the only team that only has to play 1 of the other top teams while everyone else has to play at least 2. Also looking at the bracket only 4 teams make it (even though for the last few years 7th grade had 6 teams). Just doesn’t seem like the time to cut back when adding one large bracket of 15 teams and they increased the 8th grade bracket to 8 teams How many playoff teams you get looks to be dependent on number of teams in division because even some younger years get 6-8. Initially 2028A had 16 teams which would have meant 6 teams would go to playoffs but then one team dropped down leaving only 15. As a result, 2028A only gets 4 teams in playoffs while 2028B gets 8.

With 4 playoff teams, 1 of the 5 will be an odd man out.

Then it comes down to head to head, but if past rules apply, head to head gets thrown out when there's a 3 way tie and goes to goals allowed. So I wouldn't necessarily say they're a shoe in. It does [Censored] they don't get 6 teams, would make things far more interesting.

Looks like schedules have changed and Crush is now slated to play both Coppermine and MDU. So I guess that changes things for them a bit.

They're looking better this year and there isn't a team they couldn't beat in the NGLL.

Why would Crush players leave? When is Crush folding? Been hearing it for years and the 28 team keeps hanging around which seems to bother people. I don’t get it why some are so set on Crush folding. If and when it happens, their top players will look wherever they want, and whichever team makes sense for that family.

Anyone doing American Select this year? No. Total money grab for 28s. Not a camp style where you get coaching, and no college coaches will actually be watching the 28s (or the 27s for that matter)

I am curious to see what this event does to AU Futures which had previously been pretty big at this age group. Do people still try out?

WEEKLY PARENT POLL:
Week 1: In 3 years who will be the top 5 Maryland 2028 girls teams (in order of strength)? 1) M&D 2) Heros 3) Skywalkers 4) Coppermine 5) MDU SW will continue to get talent, especially from Crush. Expect Coppermine to maintain majority of its top talent, but lose a couple to big two due to recruiting track record. MDU will likely lose a couple top players but also pick up some from Integrity

The the issue with a few of these clubs that aren't blue bloods, its very hard to break into some of these tournaments, Lax4cure, 8G, etc. long waiting lists. To me, the big advantage LBC going to M&D Shore is ability to get into some of these Robinson Sports tourneys that they could not previously.
