Hawks parents are fool mostly the moms. Lots of drama with 2029 team. Don’t worry lots of kids will be replace next year. Better start looking for a new team now.

This post is confusing. How can a team, NL, move ahead of teams (Madlax and Hawks) when these two teams aren’t even in the tournament?!?!? Somebody is trying too hard with that post.

WOW. Apparently True Chesapeake bailed out of the tournament this weekend. They may be looking for another soft tournament to play in instead! Madlax 2029 looks to playing 2028 teams it appears from the app. True's model for their MD teams is to have them win as many Aloha tournaments as possible. Like politicians, True MD's business model depends on uneducated customers. "We won a championship!" OK then. True parents won't understand that losing 3 close games in an elite tournament is more valuable than blowing out a bunch of quasi-rec teams from Nowhere, PA. As for Madlax 2029........great team but I've watched them get burnt up by 2028s that are the equivalent of AAA HoCo teams, so I'm not sure this is a great look for those athletes. Then again the ML 2029 parents and their belief in their kids' eliteness is a whole special level of fool, so I'm sure they will justify it.

Madlax 2029 getting burnt up by 2028s? Why are they even playing 2028s? Probably because they don’t shy away from challenges. What are you even talking about.
True backs out of this tournament, 2029 Madlax gets matched with 2028 teams apparently and you say this. No relevance. The only teams that could even play with 2028 teams are 2029 Madlax and 2029 Hawks.
This is like that Hawks comment above where somebody was celebrating their “losses” which weren’t even losses!!!

Aren’t 2029 teams supposed to play 2029 teams?
Someone must have lost to the 2029 Madlax team along with way. Maybe in one of these:
HoCo Champ - Madlax NAL Champ - Madlax Naptown Champ - Madlax NLF Champ Madlax
Agree with the above 2029 Madlax and 2029 Hawks can compete against 2028s. And if they get pummeled in a game, they are supposed to, they are a year younger.

2029 Madlax actually won Adrenaline playing 2028s. Last year or this year? Last year was made even more confusing by the fact that not only was there a 2028-2029 pool, but there were separate "champions" for Saturday and Sunday of the event. Last year, on Sunday ADRLN, ML 2029s played their hearts out, falling to Team Eighteen 2028 in the semi-finals. ML 2029 played like champs. The parents, not so much, after loudly predicting all day that the championship game was destined to be ML 2028 vs ML 2029 . And we all know about the coach, screaming at (then) 10 year olds at the top of his lungs, every game. But make no mistake, the ML 2029 boys are talented, and obviously pretty tough, given the amount of abuse they take from coaches.

You left out the part about the refs not calling game over at the same time leaving the ML goal wide open for a desperation shot from midfield to win game, but that is the way it goes sometimes. That coach that is screaming at the top of his lungs is one of the best youth coaches around. The boys and that team are as good and tough as they are in large part to him. They have the upmost respect for him and vice versa and if you actually listen to what he was screaming you would get it. They don't put up with it, they embrace it, welcome it and thrive in it. But thanks for caring

Tourney app shows:

ADRLN did the same thing this year. They had a 28 pool and then a 28/29 pool. Team 91 Georgia won the 28 pool defeating Madlax 28.
Madlax 29 played in the 28/29 pool with West Coast Stars 29, FCA Richmond 28 and True MN 28.
Still impressive wins against two solid 28 teams but a bit of an exaggeration to say they won the 28 bracket.

Who said on this thread the 2029 Madlax team won the 2028 bracket?
Is the tourney app not accurate from what someone posted above?
Tourney app shows Team 91 GA won the 2028 bracket? Are there two 2028 brackets or a 2029 bracket with 28 teams that were in it?

Worrying about 6th grade moms. Might want to have little Johnny Hit The Wall I find this comment hilarious in general. 29 hawks moms??? Drama? I don’t think there is any drama on that team, and certainly not mom related. But, given the legitimacy of this page, I’m hoping someone will expand on this…if for no other reason but to entertain us. Wondering if this is a parent who’s kid got cut or something

Got a change to see Predators 2029 this weekend. They are improved but defintiely not elite / Top 10. Some them beat a depleted HOCO 2029 team, but then got smoked by the FCA Richmond 2029 team??? Didn't even know FCA had a Richmond team.
Excited to watch this weekend....top teams at NAL and FALL LAX SHOWDOWN!!

Excited to watch this weekend....top teams at NAL and FALL LAX SHOWDOWN!! This seems to be the consensus around all/most of the Preds squads. Better than most but decidedly not elite. 2029 squad Will end the year ranked nationally #25-50 or #50-75 if HoCo doesn't go well. Definitely not top 10. 2029 Preds started as a complete defection of 91 kids a year ago, and they have picked up even more 91 kids. That said, 91 is not good, so..... FCA Richmond is the equivalent of a talented but inconsistent AAA HoCo squad. At both 2028 and 2029 levels they have VA's best players that don't play for Northern VA teams. But also 15 other random AA/AAA players. Would have expected a closer game against Preds but that's why they play the game....

Madlax and Hawks in championships of NAL once again. Madlax with the victory 5-3. Any insight on the game?
Got a chance to watch VLC take on Mad Dog National and Thunder. VLC was impressive....extremely talented attack and dominated both games.

Only insight is that those are two teams who have a lot of respect for one another. Kids seem to actually like one another and appreciate what they have as a rivalry. Coaches too. Parents are still sad. I’m sure you’ll see what I mean soon when the banter on this page about who’s better starts. Fun game to watch. Battle of ying and Yang…one team super skilled and the other is just blue collar grinders. It’s always close. All things considered, madlax is deep and talented. Deserves the edge on the rankings on hawks once they are posted.

Fall Lax Showdown results are in... Next Level was clearly the cream of the crop. Surprisingly, Team 11 out of PA was very competitive. They have a large, athletic defense that had NL on their heels for a good part of the game. Ultimately NL prevailed 6-5. That was the only team to give NL any challenge.
Bethesda Blue appears to have taken a big step back. 0-3 on the day, although two of their losses were to NL and Mad Dog National Black (the other 3-0) team. Their offense seemed especially anemic.
VLC looked like they have improved. Went 1-1 on the day. VLC beat True Chesapeake 6-4.
FCA looked solid and able to compete at the elite level. They were winning against VLC until a last minute goal that left the game in a tie. FCA was 1-1-1 on the day, beating Mad Dog National Gold 8-3 and losing to Team 11 9-4.
Not sure what is going on with True Chesapeake. Their attack still looks legit. But the team overall looked pretty sluggish in their only win against Mad Dog National Gold prevailing 3-2. They did play MD National Black tough losing 7-5. They also lost to VLC 6-4.

Madlax and Hawks are both just so much better and on a different level. Extremely talented and well coached. They will continue to battle each other all year. Next Level, VLC, LTLC, and maybe sounds like FCA are in that second Tier. True Chesapeake and Bethesda round out the bottom..........Team 91 MD, Predators, and Team Maryalnd are just not at the level to be in the conversation in my opinion.

This will change but it's true for the next 10 months anyway. LTLC and BLC need to stay at elite to even hope to retain talent through 8th grade. FCA would fit fine, it's time for them to transition up. I recall they've beaten LTLC the last few times they've played. If you look at how bad 91 was last year (goal differential -70ish), they need to go back to AAA but that's against 91 policy, so I guess they'll stay another year and get beat up. They'll start to absorb the talent from the rec programs that end in 8th grade. Predators should go to AAA, they had an easy time at AA (goal differential about +50) and picked up more AAA kids this year. Not sure how they will beat Team MD though. Since they've been picking off kids from 91 for the last 2 years, I'd like to see them play 91 as well.

Ouch. Looks like there'll be some real parity now with the narrowing of the holdback window. Quite honestly, if "safety" is the lens here, the easiest and immediate thing to do is move to 16-18 month windows. The 2 year holdbacks flying in from CA, TX, GA, and FL (an actual thing) are problematic from a safety standpoint. Some at the 2028 level are 6'+ and moving towards 200lb. Because they're almost 15 years old. That said, I'm against holdbacks and I sure won't complain if a 12 month window is selected. If instituted in Fall 2023, it realistically only affects 2029s for 2 or so years, but will be a game changer for 2030s and beyond. For the 2029s and older, it will be maybe *a little* hilarious to watch HS juniors being forced to play in 18+ club leagues. Especially since the majority of holdback parents aren't proud or public about their son's reclass.

Which didn’t make sense. Thanks though salty dad who is gonna be disappointed when he realizes holdbacks weren’t the issue for his kid.

If this actually happens what teams rosters will change the most? Hawks Madlax NL? Guessing all three have at least one key player who would be moved. I’m guessing that the 28 division would be more heavily impacted. Not even sure hawks could Compete if all their holdbacks got sent back up to their original age.

If like soccer that completely shakes up the system where non holdbacks end up in trap years where the rest of their team graduated and they are still in HS...

Waiting for quarter zip, hit the wall, your kid can play JV, Holdbacks won’t ever change dad’s insight on this. Maybe their superior kids will excel when they get the chance to play against kids their own age and size.
