2way made this tourney so much more interesting Especially if they bring all their holdbacks. The roster is already filled with holdbacks. It’s more, will they bring their 2027’s with them.

North beat LIE pretty handily. It’s early, lots of lacrosse to play and only a playdate. North has older players and that is significant at this age. Just like most of the teams down south. Just like most of the national teams. Just like most teams NOT from Long Island. The fact is that most teams on Long Island, minus venom, are going to have a hard time competing this year in most tournaments. It is what it is at this point. Change is on the horizon. Truth. Are we going to revert to the unsubstantiated “they are all older” narrative every time a team loses? The whole team is 2028, it’s doubling as their World Series team.

Anyone that doesn't acknowledge the difference between grade/age is kidding themselves. And yes, wins and losses at the U-16 level are ALMOST always entirely based on who has the oldest kids on the team. Duh.

My son played on a team that played a mix of both last summer. Huge yes - it’s a massive jump when playing a true AA team (eg legit top 15 or 20) compared to A, which I see as most often in the 30 to 100 ranking neighborhood. And then a similar gap between a and b as you move outside the top 100. Ratings aren’t perfect but give you a good directional sense of who is AA, A, B from a tournament bracket POV.

2way made this tourney so much more interesting Can anyone confirm that #8 and #1 actually reclassed and are in the 7th grade (again)?? They were in 7th grade all last year, then played 2028 this summer while claiming “oh, we are thinking about reclassing in the fall.” If they did not indeed reclass, they should be banned. Not a fan of reclassing kids for sports, butnits part of the game. What’s NOT apart of the game is kids in 8th grade playing in a 7th grade league. That’s cheating.

The scenario that is acceptable is paid for, and the one that is not acceptable, is not paid for. Same same. The end result is the same. Reclassing 11yr old's is insane but it can't be that only the private school kids get to do it.

[quote=Anonymous]#47 is a reclass and is 13, and he is the only reclass on ML. Quit making things up and then hedging when you are proven wrong because it's a bad look. I know it's irritating you lost to ML (badly I might add), but that's the way the cookie crumbles. I will admit, #47 is big. You should see his brothers who played O-line in college or his sister who plays D1 volley ball. They are all massive. Nothing you can do about that, but I would say he is smaller than #11 defender on Venom and #20 defender on Shore2Shore. Weird nobody brings them up....probably because #47 is a baller. He's also considerably younger than #1 and #8 from 2Way.
No one brings up Venom or S2S kids because they are on age. Ha S2S kids are not on yr. period.

If you reclass, it means you actually do exactly that— you repeat the grade you just finished. What you CANNOT do is say, “hey, I’m thinking about reclassing sometime in the future, but in the meantime, I’ll play down a grade even though I’m still the grade ahead.” If you don’t get that, you’re a hammerhead.

2way kids are much older. Express is going to give venom a headache should be interesting to see how they match up this year. Legacy always beats up prime time. Maybe play better competition and they get tougher. Keep playing lower teams and this is what you get. Still slipping. Rush didn’t lose a step from last year. Rebels looked lost. Surge did not get better they didn’t belong.
