The school on the degree matters for .0005% of the world. I disagree. It matters in certain fields. If you want to apply to a top med, law or biz school, a degree from a top academic undergrad will be very helpful to have. If you want to get into finance right out of undergrad it will also matter. That said, I would rather hire a kid from a mediocre college who graduated at the top of his class over a kid who coasted at a top school. That sounds about right but if you are not planning on working in med/law/finance it hardly matters where you go to school.

Where you went to college doesn't really matter when you apply to law school - the LSAT is about 75% of the equation. The top dude in my law school class went to Salisbury, and my law school was top tier.

Loyola has the best 2026 class in town. The younger cook kid and a few more offensive weapons plus the two student defensemen and not the mention the goalie will be very successful in the coming years. mcdonough is very strong two as they recruited the best player from crabs and hawks but they look weak on the defensive side.

Recruiting season. Where are the 27s going?
Lots of hopefuls headed to Loyola before the inevitable coaching change? Parents with visions of grandeur sitting the pine at Calvert Hall? Fresh crop headed to St P's to chase the inevitable lax rebirth? Going to Gilman to dominate the B league next year? Out of towners filling the dorms at BL? Unfinished darkhorse business in AACO?
Lots of storylines! Which one are you covering for us first? I wanna hear all about MSJ cornering the Zingos market, and Spalding welcoming in 17 transfers from StJ's who can't get past the admissions board! Zingos , that is a low Blow !

Loyola has had the most talent in the conference during the past 4 years.
And it has gotten them 1 Fresh Soph title.
Men for Fresh Soph.

In actuality, CHC had a tough year for the 2026 lax recruiting. Many kids that Kelly was coming after hard - a few who were being recruited for lax and football - opted for other schools, including Loyola. CHC definitely does not have as strong of a 2026 lacrosse class as Loyola or several other schools including McDonogh and SP.

Strong (adj): 1. having the power to move heavy weights or perform other physically demanding tasks. 2. able to withstand great force or pressure.
Where are these strong Loyola freshmen from?

McDonogh, Loyola, BL and SP got the strongest 2026 players in the area. CHC did not fare as well. That is the true story.

Dude… where have you been? McD added the top ranked 23 pole in the country (as a transfer) and probably has one of the best D’s in the league. LB will continue to cellar dwell.

The good lax programs will have a total of about 4-6 2026s on varsity, each. Few will have an impact on even a single game. And then next year all the rest of the 2026s will make varsity too, lol.

2026 holdbacks dominating in 8th grade is one thing. Playing in the best league country where everyone is a holdback and the playing the best of the best is a different thing.

Yeah, pay attention. All the whining and chest pounding about Loyola started here, when it ended in the Looneys and Boys 2026 thread. One group of parents or maybe one goalie parent.

A handful of talented 2026 players from the Baltimore area not going to help advance the Loyola program when the top MIAA teams MCD, BL and CHC are recruiting elite athletes from across the county and/or tapping hired student lax guns for a year to fill in roster gaps.

What's the big deal?
This is big time HS lacrosse in the MIAA- Where varsity rosters have over 45 kids and only 22 players get to play in a game!

You can have a kid double rostered.
But if you have a varsity kid play in a JV game, you become ineligible for the jv playoffs.
Also, if your kid gets pulled up for a varsity playoff game, that counts as being a “varsity athlete,” per the transfer rules/penalties.
