Who cares about holdbacks, especially when your kids team roster is 28+! That's the real issue.

Multiple athletes will be changing teams after Columbus Day. Rosters of 27 plus will implode.

For most teams that will be their first tournament with new team. You really think they would jump ship that quick? After paying, I don’t know.

If they are smart yes otherwise at least 1 season then they move on. But some will stay just so they can say they are on the team even though they don’t contribute. Sad.

Wow, the people have spoken and the US club lacrosse survey garnered enough attention to make some changes. It sounds like the grade to age change will begin in 2024. It won't effect this age group, as they will move from age back to grade in HS from what I understand, but at least moving forward there will be some structure to youth club lacrosse and hopefully keep the sport moving forward.

Incredible. Good for US lacrosse for stepping up and making the change with safety being the priority for U-15 down. I agree, the reclassing is acceptable in HS for recruiting purposes but for the younger kids its just a safety issue.

I always thought it was weird that US lacrosse would have a U-16/ U-18/ U-21 team but not enforce any of the club ages.

Reasoning with you is an exercise in futility. Shame on me for biting twice but here goes. Your saying that the teams who field too many players are the main issue in lacrosse? Maybe for the 7-8 per team that probably aren’t going to get playing time. Multiply that by the 3-4 teams that have what you deem as large rosters. Do the math. 25-40 parents that willingly are paying money, most likely knowing game time will be limited. That’s more of an issue than the thousands of people screaming for a change. Stop obsessing over how other people spend their money? You really are ignorant and have a gripe. It’s painfully obvious to everyone except yourself.

Where can you find these details for when the changes take place?

I will say that if this is true this is a massive reality check for a lot of people.

The kids that have been hitting the wall will finally get rewarded for their hard work, the holdbacks will now have to hit the wall and get to work, the on age kids that didn't put in the work can no longer complain about the holdbacks, the coaches will now have to actually coach up their kids instead of just having the team with the oldest kids, the tournament directors will now have to be accountable for safety, etc. Its a win all around.

Even the reclasses will still be rewarded in HS when it matters for recruiting anyway.

Surge should play in A at Columbus Day they are going to destroy the B teams
They will be challenged in A but could win a few

Surge got 30 players - They're going to be in B-Brackets in order to get playing time for all their guys.

Hydra is their A team, they don't have a AA team

Rebels must have updated website still confused about east teams I guess there are 2 east teams? Hydra and gators are east then red wolves are regular rebels? Too many 2028 teams if you ask me but I guess that’s the trend with all the east teams now. Also noticed hydra picked up Tommy Palasek as a coach
