Probably some big movement and definitely some shake ups on the top teams. Yj just got Bert from MT Siani which could draw some talent that way. This grade is still young so there will still be a decent amount of movement.

Could see some of them following her if she coaches elsewhere.

Any thoughts about TG 2028? Who are the coaches?

The same coaches as every other TG team.. the two smiths plus some nonverbal college girls all shuffling around with the the smiths spending more time with the older teams

Non verbal college girls like Ellie Masera and Emma Ward....you're right they are awful - maybe look them up

The higher-ups didn't really watch the 2028 tryouts on Sat., although they were there; guess 2028 isn't considered one of the older teams yet.

Just because you’re a good player doesn’t mean you’re a good coach. Sam Apuzzo coached my daughters team a couple years ago and she was the worst. Yes basically non verbal and no energy. And no, I’m not bitter because my daughter didn’t play. I’d rather have Andrew or Shannon coaching my daughter anyway over some these college stars. College girls make horrible coaches from my experience, not just at TG, but at other clubs my daughter played on. Maybe they can be an assistant but don’t let a college girl be a head coach of your daughters team.

I know, the college player that shows up for the month of June but misses practice all year long is great.

I'm curious if anyone knows with their older kids who make the call at YJ tryouts? Do the team head coaches make the call? Or do someone (let say Carol Rose or a YJ director) help in the process? Do YJ tend to keep bench kids on the roster until they leave voluntarily or do they actively cut kids? Especially if you are already on the B team. Try to see if there is room for my daughter to join the B team....

First of all, CR could care less about who makes the B team. Yes. They mostly leave the players on the team even when they should be cut. There is always a little movement, and YJ will always bench your daughter when the next best thing comes along unless you’re the mommy or daddy coach. I’m curious as to why you would think making a b team is something to strive for? Your daughter is in 7th grade, try to get onto an A team at a good club like Legacy, TG, or Jesters before it’s too late!

Top Guns, Jesters and YJ are where the best Nassau girls play. Pretty much spread equally amongst those clubs

Not awful, they are 20 years old. No 20 year old should be head coach of any team, especially when parents are paying good money to the club.

FLG 27 seems to be a very good team. What about FLG 28?

I don’t know if too many girls will be following “Jenny” if she leaves YJ

IsJenny leaving? Have their been issues with her? Not sure but Bertolone coming is a big upgrade. She just uses the YJ to funnel kids to her private training.

91 vs YJ HEFTON looked intense. What was the score ? Was there a live feed of this game between a couple of B/C teams ? How would you know it was intense ? From a couple of Instagram stories on LILJ ?

birth year classifications would change so much in this group
sure it evens out eventually but it does open the door for many girls in the early years

Recruiting is done by grad year not by age. So switching it in the younger ages would only be a short term fix and then cause for big tryout switches the summer before 9th grade.

Why???? I don't see it that way. The players playing with their age group will start getting seen in summer one year earlier than the "on age" kids in their grade. They just cant get offered until that following year. There would still be an opportunity for college coaches to watch more games and see those kids again if they really want/need to but of course a bandwidth issue for them. Having an on age system below high school is the way to go and this perceived issue is not at all a good reason to keep the current system in youth. I think the rules can be different in HS, but I don't believe at all a kid has to move teams. great players get seen, great players get found regardless.
First off the minority of kids playing are getting recruited when you consider the total population of players

No it only has to be for travel and PAL type leagues. High school obviously can mix. We have to end holdbacks asap

Carrannante helped with 24 Wiener and the team did fantansic! Ramos is the B team, so naturally kids do not commit as early. But it's only September! May be they should hire you?

If you made a chance, I would recommend not doing the birth day dates like soccer does, but rather a date more similar to school enrollment dates. Start the years on 8/1. So for 2028s, Eligibility would be more any girl born after 8/1/2009.

Most DC/MD private school recommend kids starting school late so some of the top MD teams would lose half their team if this was implemented.
