Say what you want -
But *almost* every youth club 2028 team I can think of that doesn’t have at least one dad coach is terrible. The Hoco Elite 2028 Champions have zero dad coaches. However they are ML28's daddy. That actually made me chuckle and I'm a ML dad.

I believe Brian Kelly is a dad/coach. So is Danowski (Duke). So is Brian Spallina. This isn’t a notIntelligent argument, it’s just an argument founded on ignorance. URBWN4 Phhhhhhhhhht. It's an overgeneralization but it is certainly not an ignorant argument. If you are paying more than about $1500/year for your son to play ball, having a "Dad Coach" is more likely to be a red flag than a bonus, and everyone knows that. Typical 21st Century American thinking "Oh it has to be A or B!" Really? The fired 2029 Crabs coach (now at True) is a dad coach. Search the forums for that insane saga. Team 91 currently has 30+ kids on roster including 3 sons of coaches. Should work out great. Koopers was full of Dad coaches, and folded. Millon is a dad coach, making sure for 10+ years the ball goes through his sons' hands. At the expense of others. It has been a success (of sorts). Madlax has dad coaches, and the ML Dadz cannot stop talking about the effect it has on the squad. Brian Kelly in his role at FCA has built a system where other players (who aren't his sons) must fit into the system that showcases his sons, or be cut. There are at least "a few" former and current FCA midfielders who have the same level of talent as Kelly's 2028 son. And yet some are/were buried 18 spots deep on the FCA white roster because there can only be one. And in fact some of the best and worst 2028 FCA coaches have been dad coaches over the past few years! It's complicated, but it's usually NOT GOOD. Whoever wrote this post hasn’t watched many FCA 2028 Blue games.

He would be 1st or 2nd line on any elite team. He can play. But like all of the "elite" coaches' sons, it tends to fall apart when the ball doesn't run through him. Millon's kids are the same. You can see it clearly when they play sixes or box lax......when every play isn't specifically set up to get the ball to those kids, they look "regular talented." Which they are. Also evident enough when those kids are highly recruited and then don't play much at high level D1. Yes they are very good. But maybe not "#1 in the country" good without Dad's playbook and oversight for 10 years on the field.

lovin the BDcE (big dad coach energy) on this thread.
"dad coaches are great and i don't care that I pay $2500 for my more talented kid to play behind coach's son!"
"we came in 3rd in hoco so the lack of playing time was all worth it! coach says so! What's that coach? Can your son borrow my son's stick and helmet for the game today? Sure, my kid will support the team from the bench!"

Good points re dad coached sons' having plays run through them. Look at TX Nationals. The coach's son is an attackman. He's very good, but that team would be excellent if he wasn't such a ball hog......and why do they ball hog? Because there are no consequences for poor or selfish play. Look at ML 28. You won't see a coach, anywhere, that yells more at the kids for not listening or following a play (well, maybe the Venom coaches). He benches them all the time....except for his kid. I have friends on that team and the uneven level of discipline drives the parents and kids bananas.

Is Kelly post staying in elite?
If not any idea whose taking their place? Team MD, Team 91 or VLC Accurate. And the most likely (and worst call of the 3) is 91. That squad is improving year-to-year, why let them get torn apart in elite this spring? KP is toast. Lost 9-10 kids to T91, 2? to FCA White, 2? to Predators, and 1-2 to True Baltimore. About 5-6 returning to KP. KP's B team was also largely dissolved. Split between LTLC and True Baltimore. KP will have enough players for one team this year, probably at the A level. Leftovers from the two years of last year. I assume no new kids.

Lots of talent left and idk if what’s left would have a fun time in elite in the spring. They were pretty terrible last year before the defections. Might be two new teams in elite who knows

They Pulled the Best Remaining Players from Annapolis, and combined them with the best kids from True Baltimore, True DC, and their True PA teams. I am not sure how that rebranding works for HoCo though.

I am not sure how that rebranding works for HoCo though. Given True's demonstrated belief that rosters are "just a suggestion," I'm sure it will work fine. I've watched a 2028 True team field their 2027 goalie after he played a 2027 game the same day. And of course the failed roster check in the semi-finals for HoCo 2021, which resulted in 5+ kids getting sent off the field because despite it being the third month of the season, they somehow weren't on the roster the entire time. So how will it work? Half of the True Chesapeake kids will probably play on 2+ True teams and True will hope they don't get caught.

Can the guy who is going full pro publica with the fake news around there being a done deal on switching to aged based lacrosse be stopped?
It’s literally the exact same method - just repeat falsehoods over and over enough until people start to believe it.

I don't think any adult involved in the lax world honestly thinks it's happening, and I ignore the fake news. I would personally love to see it, but I doubt it happens in the next 5 years, and as others have said, I'm sure it would effective as of the 2035 class or something, to let all the current coach's (and donors') kids through the current system.

There are only five elite teams - Hawks, Madlax, NL, FCA, and Crabs. Whoever else rounds out elite is irrelevant. BLC is 0-13 the last two years when not playing KP, but will probably sign up for being blown out at least five more times. Whoever the other two teams are will suffer the same fate. A 5 team elite would be much more worthwhile and then let non-elite teams like BLC and True wherever get a chance to play in some competitive games in AAAA.

Gross. Especially after the Tua situation in the NFL. Concussions are real. Playing your 15 yr old against a 13yr old is a safety concern. And then talking smack about the kids afterwards. Cesspool. US lacrosse - do something.

If you are a coach and one of your kids chooses to play in The Circuit for a money grab National team over your club team's first tournament what should the outcome be for that kid?

“Elite” parents love to disrespect other people’s kids.
Bottom feeders.
God knows I wish my kid loved a different sport so I would not have to put up with the parent clowns in club lacrosse.
Total lost to call kids bottom feeders. Sorry to call out True and Clubs like them. They are what they are. All are money grabs that stroke the ego of parents like you. If Little Johnny was elite, he would play elite for Crabs, ML,91 or Hawks Sure thing, 91 Dad. 91 2028s have never had a winning record year-to-year, and rock a roster of 30+ kids most of whom never see the field. Speaking of parents egos. "But the schwag bag."

If you are a coach and one of your kids chooses to play in The Circuit for a money grab National team over your club team's first tournament what should the outcome be for that kid? If I were the local club coach there's 3 kinds of outcomes in this case, especially since more and more clubs have added "this is your only lax club" statements to the player/parent contract: 1. If the player is the best at his position, I'm angry but I'm still going to play him a lot at the next tourney. 2. If the player is one of the worst at his position, I think, hey great, one less kid for this tourney to worry about playing time. Win-win. 3. If the player is on the bubble in my current roster, I downgrade him, absolutely, and see if somebody else can show me something.

If you are a coach and one of your kids chooses to play in The Circuit for a money grab National team over your club team's first tournament what should the outcome be for that kid? You should re-evaluate your club. Because clearly it’s not offering something the other team is. Families are consumers and will do whatever they want with their money. Be better and this isn’t an issue.

If you are a coach and one of your kids chooses to play in The Circuit for a money grab National team over your club team's first tournament what should the outcome be for that kid? It's fall ball. Kids miss tourneys for football, soccer, etc. I wouldn't get too hung up on punishing the kid going to The Circuit unless you're prepared to do the same to all kids who miss for other teams/sports. The Circuit won't interfere with the summer season which is when the full club team is expected to be there.

Curious to hear opinions on this. We made sure there was no overlap before committing to The Circuit. I don’t think of fall tournaments as important though knowing better athletes may prioritize other sports at that time.
