just found out surge is charging 4k. And they have a roster of 30, yes 30 boys on that team. How can you as a parent consider that to be a smart move??? Hmmmm? Answer please. I am dying to know.

Because it’s a great team to be on. All the coaches are great, the boys are getting better and everyone is all in. Don’t worry about us and concentrate on your son’s team.

Where or who do you get your information from?

Surge needs those parents so Venom can give out scholarships to their new members.

See supplementals are out. Rebels have a small amount of spots for 36 li teams. They can have every night at new indoor facility. If interested playing with the top organization on LI, contact them.

Love how all these travel organizations having “ supplemental tryouts“ such money grabs . The mini camps weren’t enough.

New to this as a parent, so take it easy on me. Just trying to get a gauge for upcoming planning. What Fall tourneys are these WSOL clubs/teams entering and does it matter which ones you play?

I don’t think the money is material but who wants to spend hours driving around to all of those tournaments on beautiful weekends to watch your kid play for 10 minutes per game? Even if your kid plays 30 minutes per game, I have to wonder if it’s a good use of time.

Indoor facility? Is that the Deer Park Place? If yes, it’s tiny.

Express already has 30 and we haven’t had the mid-season add or the late 2009’s join the party.

These 4 teams are basically the only ones that matter on Long Island. In my opinion, only 3 will qualify though. Sorry Rebels!

Why do you care how many kids are on Surge? If the parents and kids don’t care why do you? They will vote with their feet. If they wanted to go somewhere else they would. Kids want in on the World Series. Go where you think is right for your kid.

What does that tell you about the team that Venom kids stayed and more wanted to join. You can call us a B team, who cares what team you classify us as. You go worry about A / B team status, we obviously don't.

Given that legacy is still holding supplemental tryouts I’ll go with rush.

Attack - close / or slight advantage Legacy

Middies - Legacy

Poles - Rush

Goalies - close / or slight advantage Rush

If it was so close why did Legacy back out of the scrimmage?

How do you people even know who is on these teams or what team holds a positional advantage. Tryouts literally just ended.

Look at every team playing. Good 5-8 kids and parents per game, going home upset with playing time. That goes for A teams and B teams.
Perhaps some parents look at their kid and decides that since he loves being on a team, loves playing lacrosse, is getting better as a player that they’ll deal.
Unfortunately playing just PAL (in the past) and now upcoming school lax will not be enough. Unfortunately, this sport has become competitive big business.
Focus on your kid. If he’s one of the “key players” on a team, great for you and him.
If he’s developing, go where you need to go to keep improving, get great coaching and try to enjoy the journey.
They’re going into 7th grade.
