do you have proof phone calls were made? and what players shouldn't have been on the team and what players who were left off or not selected would have made the team better? I do not expect you to actually reply with facts since that would get in the way of your narrative of politics playing a roll in the selection process. The Selection process for the North team was the same as the South. It was made by both Corrigan and Inside Lacrosse. Do you think the that they only selected selfish player for the South and team players for the North. You sound foolish when you make statements one team was selfish and one team was not. Look at the stats on the draws and turnovers..that was where the game was lost.

I am just glad these girls are off to college and these posts can now be published on those still in high school. College coaches do not care about any of this. They recruited the players they wanted for one reason or another and we can all sit back and see what happens. Parents who have been architecting their daughter's career thus far wont be able to do it anymore. Parents who are pissed off that certain players get picked for teams and that their daughter always get overlooked because of politics, daddy ball, etc. can sit back and watch to see if this happens at the next level or not. It is 100% up to your daughter now. Some will flourish and others will not. Some will play right away, others will have to wait their turn, learn and play later. Some will never see the field.

I’m pretty sure that the girls that are on the IL top 20 list for the 2022 class were all on one of the two teams. That left 24 more girls who were added and I’m pretty sure that those 24 are thought to be some of the most sought after girls by college coaches. Are you arguing with Corrigan, IL, or D1 college coaches???? I do agree with the comment about the sticks…the girls had a difficult time with them as well as the smaller, textured ball that was introduced at game time (not at practice).

Does GCS have a HC yet? Who is front runner? The interest in the job has been significant. One surprising candidate was previously employed at the school. Sounds like a good problem to have.

While we are talking about GCS... Heard that they picked up additional quality players. 1 junior and 1 sophomore - 1 should push for major minutes right away. The other is a solid player.

Anyone know what happened to HoCo? I heard that there is no longer a 24 team. Bad timing for the girls who want to play in college.

The Hoco 24 coach ruined it by promising all a great lax experience and then one of the best on the team missed too much time playing field hockey. They were a top team 3 years ago and slowly watched their best girls move to lax first teams. Shame she did that to others. Other age groups are scared and some of their top at other age groups are looking or leaving too.

Multi sport athletes are great, but a lot of times as kids get older, it’s hard for them to play multiple sports, especially at the club level. I know that HoCo A team had club field hockey players on it. I know from experience with my oldest daughter, field hockey is becoming as demanding as soccer. USA field hockey holds several national events. Unlike US lax nationals, which are a joke, USA field hockey’s national events a big deal in the hockey world.
That A team used to be a really good team. Not sure why they couldn't combine the A and B team. Such bad timing for the girls wanting to play at the next level.

They were really good 4 years ago. They are really weak. Kw and heard black and pink did combine. Just not at Hoco any longer.

And the coach couldn’t figure out how to win without the hero’s export. A better coach who actually cared 7aycould have done much more

23 daughters Sport Recruits account is expiring on Sept 1. She is already committed but love seeing girls commit. Will we still be able to track the younger classes as they commit? How do we save and archive her letters and correspondence to college coaches?

How do we save and archive her letters and correspondence to college coaches? You can track them here on BOTC. Also on IL. I believe you can also access certain parts of SR without subscribing. Hit the print button to print out correspondence. Save videos to your device.

Wonder why she changed HS knowing that she had already committed to UNC. Although there is already an M&D 2024 player at McDonogh.

Something to remember as the 24’s start the recruiting/commitment process—- please keeps your opinion of colleges to yourself. Most parents know to keep their daughters recruiting to themselves but please remember keep your opinions to yourself. The school you say isn’t academic enough, isn’t good enough, isn’t in a good enough area etc may be another person’s only option. If a kid/parents says they want X university please don’t say what about Maryland or Clemson or navy. Just say “oh that’s great”!!!! So many things go in to choosing a school so don’t make people feel bad about their choices/options. Please keep quiet

Some kids may want to larger/smaller school, greek life...... Others may go to school that will allow them to major is what they want to major in...

Question, my daughter is a pretty good lacrosse player and is currently in middle school. Most of her team is moving to private schools, all of the typical powerhouses, in anticipation of high school. During the transition, a couple of parents said that the schools pursued their kids for lacrosse. One added that they were already getting some money for their last year in middle school.
That being said, these kids are good but by no means the standouts on their team. So my question, are hs coaches really pursuing ms players, or is it more likely parents reach out and let them know they're interested? And how frequently is money actually doled out for girls lacrosse?
Want to understand the landscape for next year. Also, how early do you need to apply?

Want to understand the landscape for next year. Also, how early do you need to apply? HS coaches can ask where ms kids are thinking of going to HS and ask them to shadow their school. there is no lacrosse money or any athletic money given to MS or HS kids. this is against IAAM rules. They may be getting financial aid or maybe academic scholarships. Parents reach out to the schools to set up shadow days and then say how their kid is getting recruited by some coach. best thing to do is to reach out to the coach of any private school you are interested in and let them know your kid will be shadowing.

Schools do offer scholar athlete scholarships as well as many other scholarships for potential students. An example from John Carroll: The Rev. Charles K. Riepe Scholar Athlete Scholarship provides several scholarships each year to incoming freshmen, supplemental to the regular tuition assistance grants made by the school, to deserving scholar athletes. I would assume other schools have similar scholarships available to potential "recruits".

At what point do these potential scholarships get offered/discussed? Is it before Fall of 8th grade or during? Before or after shadow days?

Attend athlete nights or open house.
Shadow
Apply
Scholarships are given st the time of financial aid award in the spring.
If you are being considered for a scholarship above financial aid, the coach will reach out to you in the fall/winter before the application deadline.
