NY board says 2Way uses 7th graders.
Yawn.
They are at NLF this weekend so check back in two days. Don't care about holdbacks/7th graders. But agree with previous poster who raved about 2Way's midfield. Two of them are stronger, faster, quicker, and possess better on the run shots than all of the 2028 middies in HoCo. Not an exaggeration. And they had a d middie who was physically ready to play MLB in HS football. It *would* make me feel better to know that they were older (rising 8th graders) b/c they were athletically (and lacrosse skill-wise) superior to anything I've seen at the 28 level this summer or in HoCo. Hard to take your opinion seriously as you are obviously a parent of a kid on the team who is pretending to be a third party. Literally no one else is watching 2Way or any other team's middies closely and regularly enough to have detailed breakdowns of them. Sorry no one else cares enough to talk about your kid's team. Yeah… NL dad’s sorry attempt to justify the 2 beatings they took at the hands of 2Way last weekend. 1 legit beating in pool play and 1 OT loss in the final.

Anyone know what is happening to Kelly post? The predictable thing that happens when you take a bunch of above average but not elite 7 year olds and coach them / culture them into high level TEAM performance over the course of seven years........the parents get the idea in their heads that the players are actually "elite standouts" as individuals. (My hot take is that KP 2028 is a great squad and it's not smart to disband it....this year). Parents were getting nervous about the kids needing more "exposure" for their supposedly obvious future MIAA careers in 3+ years. One KP dad coach took 8-10 of the boys a few weeks ago and committed them all to 91, you know, the "we don't cut anyone" club who already has 29 on the roster, including the 8-10 who came with the Swarm dad coach 10 months ago (stinks to be those kids at this moment). The rest of the KP parents - overall - have a unique outlook that their sons should easily make Crabs or FCA Blue, and if not, they can get on the FCA White, Team 91, or Predator rosters (I'm sure I'm missing a few) without even trying out, because kP eLiTe. Tryouts for all of those teams are over in a week (in fact tryouts for almost all of them are at the same times and dates!), so we shall see if the KP lax moms were correct.... or if they all mostly up at Koopers, LTLC, and the new KP AAA team that will arise from combining KP elite and KP-B. 8-10 committed to 91 before try-outs? I find that funny. A lot were at Crabs try-outs last night. If any of those 8-10 are attack they will be sitting behind the dad ball coaches sons on 91. I'm a KP dad. Very proud of what the team has accomplished over the last 2 years especially and nobody cares that their tournament schedule is "soft" when they are winning 5-7 tournaments a year. Some of us floated an idea to create a "Hard Shells" Crabs team from our squad but the majority of parents this week clearly felt like their sons had a pretty easy shot to get on the Crabs roster. I guess we'll see. And the 8 (not 10) kids already going to 91 are at all positions. Attack too. Won 5-7 tournaments a year? That’s 5-6 more than the number of games they won in the HoCo Elite division. Not sure how many make the Crabs roster, but good for giving it a shot. Suspect they’ll likely end up at 91, or whatever other AAA teams are around that hood

Any truth to the rumor that BLC blue might fold or combine with the orange team? That team is starting to fall apart like KP. Both teams probably would have been better off not playing elite and losing so much. Yep, this is happening. Not happening in the least. BLC Blue is fine.

It’s weird how KP hat chases B level tournament competition.
VLC and Predators are far more respectable and at least try to play and challenge themselves. They lose a lot but so what.
KP will enter a tournament and opt for the A bracket and ignore the AA. But hey nice hats for you tournament wins.

NL has way too many on the roster, and ML has plenty of issues from the top down. Don’t sleep on BLC. There wasn’t a single Elite level player on that team that, if he left, the team would be in shambles. By next Spring, they’ll be ready to compete

2Way is solid, but Madlax should win that matchup. NL was missing 4 starters and still had multiple chances to win. In the final, NL had possession in the box and coach called timeout. The refs incorrectly said 'no timeouts allowed in OT.' The kid with the ball thought the ref granted the TO & stopped for a second. 2Way took ball and went right down and scored. The table informed the officials they were wrong and apologized. But game was over and no coach, player, or parent threw a fit. Both teams played hard and shook hands. 2Way has a lot of speed and small, skilled players who get after the ball. They went 2-0 vs. NL and earned both wins. Hats off to those kids. But if Madlax is at full strength they should be favorites in that matchup. Just be ready for a speedy team that does a nice job in transition and looks to make extra pass.

This is why the World Series is the ONLY legit youth tournament. Only tournament where rosters, age, and distance from club location are actually checked and nobody can “cheat”. Otherwise you have 13 year olds playing 11 year olds. Also when i grew up it use to be an honor to be asked to play up. Now parents and players think it’s an honor to call yourself “one of the best 2028s in the country.” Congratulations your 13 year old is better than most 11-12 year olds he’s playing against. Lol whatever makes you feel good. Hope junior’s that good in high school when it matters.

If you look at the scores on US Club rankings it doesn’t look like any other team has a single win against a team ranked in the top 60. The gulf between the top 6 and everyone else is enormous and getting wider.

Elite will round out over the next year or two.
As the 27 holdbacks arrive, it will displace enough on age elite kids to other programs that there should be more competitive teams.

The problem with this theory is that you could take the bottom 10 kids on NL and the bottom 10 kids on Madlax (all solid players) and create a team and it wouldn’t be competitive. It’s sad but true that the wins come from the top 8-10 players at most on those teams. The only path for BLC/DCE to get better is to hope to snag 27 holdbacks that become available, hope top NL or ML players become available for some reason, or unearth some new talent. Adding ML and NL kids not getting playing time won’t move the needle. Anyone with older boys can tell you this is how it plays out.

My kid is a starter on a top 10 team in the country and is on-age.
It sounds like every team in the top 10 has older kids. My kid's team has 2-3 kids. Maybe Venom is the only exception?
Can we just acknowledge the top 10 is the wild west - hold backs, guest players, kids that aren't quite holdbacks yet but plan to? Who cares?
Those older kids have an advantage now, but when everyone hits puberty the table gets leveled. Meanwhile the younger kids that have to face the older kids are forced to develop their skills to compete as opposed to relying on superior size/athleticism.
Either way I want my kid playing against the best '28's in the country. I don't care how old they are or where they live. In HS my kid will be competing against them for college attention anyhow . . . and in the meantime they're making my kid better.

The bottom half of the ML, NL, and Hawks roster would be starters, but not necessarily standouts, at the top half of AAAA and AAA.

BBL is the best right now. Sorry old guard. They are legit in 27’s and 28’s are proving to be just as legit. So take the MD and LI bragging and sit down. Looks like BBL just got popped by 3D NE. And in doing so, backed this dad down like a beagle

1. Hawks 2. Texas nationals 3. 91 venom 4. BBL 5. 2Way 6. Madlax 7. 3D NE 8. Next Level 9. FCA MD 10t. LIE Chucks 10t. Express North
Real teams Very fair. Only other team that I think could make a legit argument for top 10 is Laxachusetts. I could argue that the 2 Express teams have had better summers than NL and FCA, but they are all very close. 4 DMV 2 LI 2 CT 2 MA (if you include LXC) 1 TX 1 NJ Ex North not a Top 10 team. They’re just not. Haven’t beaten a top 10 team all summer, and have gotten rolled like 10 times. Ex North has lost five times in nearly a year and those came against Hawks, ML, BBL, etc. Also top offensive players been out/limited this summer w injury. Maybe not riding as high as when they pasted ML last fall at NLF but they are a top team for ‘28s.[/quote] They’re just not. Neither is LI Express. WCS are top 10. Laxachussetts, ADVNC Aksewanse Thunder should be ahead of LIE and Ex North. And 2Way maybe the top team with their 2027’s they’re using. But apparently they’re “reclassing next year down to 2028.” That’s a new wrinkle I haven’t heard, “we are GONNA reclass, so we’re just gonna go ahead and play down now for when we actually do.” We know who you are #8 and #1.

Get over yourself, please.

I saw Madlax play today for the first time. I’ve read about the parents on here and you are all correct. They are appalling and trashy. What was more shocking though was the behavior of the players on the sideline and on the field. Worst sportsmanship I’ve seen in a very long time.

notIntelligent comment. Not an ML dad but I know a lot of those boys/parents because my kid goes to school with a few and we play them frequently. The boys cheer when they score or a D or goalie stop. Other than that the ML28 kids are silent on the sidelines. U know who their coach is. Troll on Trollster.

Guys, almost every team has 1-2 parents who act out and paint the whole team, including Madlax. Don’t discount the “sane” parents who act like they’re above it all, but talk trash and complain about coaches and each other when they don’t think anyone is listening. They’re actually the real poison. As the years go on you’ll learn who to talk with and who to stay away from.
