MDU may be harder to break into as well as they all seem to be staying with MDU. Was interested to see if they may make a move to M&D or Coppermine.

Hero’s seems far more likely than Coppermine for most people located in the MDU area.

Nope. No reason for a top-3 kid to move to a club further away when the club they are on is top-5. Now for the kids who aren't getting PT, makes sense to shop around.

Agree with this, especially when I'd rank MDU over Hero's.

Some parents are just attracted to the "Hero's" & "M&D" name.

Problem is MDU is a low A club that doesnt get better when they get close to high school. Heros will always be in top
Brackets of best tournaments in front of best coaches. MDU will not.

Time will tell, but MDU 2022 was a top-10 team. They are a top-15 national club in the last US Lacrosse club rankings (not by grad year, overall).
They do all the major tournaments and have a great history of recruiting, outside of say Hero's M&D and Skywalkers, I don't think you can put another MD club ahead of them.
Being that M&D and Hero's constantly attempt to poach the players they develop year after year should speak to how they develop talent.

Likely more related to Annapolis area being the most talent laden area for lacrosse in the nation, it makes sense.

Rich people always want to think they are the best. Great players have come out of Naptown, but “most talent laden area for lacrosse in the national” just screams MOST PRIVILEGED lacrosse players in the nation.

There’s absolutely nothing to back that statement, ESPECIALLY on the girls side of the game.

Since there was no question asked, I assume this was just pointless bragging. If you were asking for help with your decision, I am sure people can offer advice, if the internet was just sharing your fortune, I hope one of the offers you are considering isn't my daughters team.

Sir or Maa'm, The IAAM is a private school league where kids from all over a region can attend, that comparison does not make any logical sense.

As for the "Baltimore" & Long Island argument, Long Island is nearly 100 miles long. Baltimore is a city of 600K, so I am not sure you are talking about a part of the city or including anything around the city in your statement.

I'd make the argument Ellicott City and that area would give Annapolis a run.

The top player on McDonough (according to Inside Lacrosse who ranks her as #1 in the nation) lives 8 miles from Annapolis. You are missing the logic, McDonough beating St Mary's does not prove your point. How many kids on McDonough are from Owings Mills area?

Carroll County has 17 state championships since 2008 between about 6 schools. 2 championships this year - 1A and 2A.

The point of that persons statement was even with the top top talent your beloved IAAM, those schools still have a lot of success based on the depth of talent in the area.

I understand her point, and understand that top players in AACO play for Baltimore area private schools. Yet for some weird reason neither the Annapolis-area IAAM schools and the area's top clubs are close to the same caliber as their Baltimore-area counterparts. It's because they have great players but no where near the depth of Baltimore.

I'm going to go on a limb and say the Baltimore area IAA schools pull from all over and the AACo IAAM schools prob pull 80% of team from that area and there are three schools they are going to.

I predict the Mid Atlantic is going to be far less competitive this year based on many of the best clubs playing at the Maryland Cup. Having one venue with multiple children makes so much sense rather than the 7 different venues that Mid Atlantic has to offer. It makes it easier on college coaches as well. The Maryland Cup doesn’t even include 2028’s so I predict that tournament will have no impact on the competition at the Mid Atlantic for this year.

Yeah, last I looked almost every top 2028 club/team will be at Mid Atlantic. The top 2 brackets are going to be a gauntlet.

Have you looked at the TSIC app for the Maryland Cup? If so, I am confused on your definition of "all the top teams" is.

1st there are no 28s in Maryland cup, and 2nd heros green is the only good Md team playing in the 27 division.
