Got it but seems like YJB and TGB play so many teams that are so far beneath their capability and then they battle some very high ranked teams. I just don’t understand the rankings math in all of this. Like they squash a bunch of teams and rise up in the rankings. Does any of this even matter? My daughter only started travel this year so trying to figure this out

Worry about if your daughter is having fun and developing.

Hot take but yjb could easily be better then yj a. Watching their game against FLG proved it. They don't have the greatest players but make it work, good coaching. Their zone was very good and they worked as a team. They seem to have the things that yj a doesn't have. Next year they could definitely be top 15 if they get a few more good players and keep up with the coaching. It wouldn’t be the first time YJB beat YJA, love to see that! Keeping grinding girls! Assuming they keep their top players which is near inpossible for a B team.

Where did all the LI teams end up ranked in the end? Current rankings are as follow. Not final since rest of the country plays tourneys through early August, but wouldn't expect much to change. YJA - 5 FLG - 8 TGA 18 Jesters 15 Tradition 24 YJB 19 Liberty 26 Legacy 66

Assuming they keep their top players which is near inpossible for a B team. Genuine question for some of the parents that have had older kids through the programs. Does it make more sense to be one of the top player on a “B” team or to seek out an “A” team where they might not see much of the field? Some of these second teams have been doing very well and can argue with a few adjustments and the addition of a few stronger players they would be right there with the “A” teams.

To me its the St Anthonys boys dilemma. You want to be on a great team and never play meaningful minutes but have team bragging rights or be a key player and more help for a developing team to get over the top? My answer would be your daughter will have better memories and preparation for high school really playing versus watching and clapping from the sidelines. I'm sure all the college coaches lined up on the sidelines would say the same.

What teams do you consider A vs B? Issue with B teams is level of play will be lower. There’s something to be said for being around the best girls, even if playtime is limited.

Some of these second teams have been doing very well and can argue with a few adjustments and the addition of a few stronger players they would be right there with the “A” teams. Great question that we faced with our daughter who played on YJB, there were many talented girls on that team, and in fact they played the A team a couple times and beat them. So my daughter was asked to play on the A team, but we left for a different club, as did several others because of the YJ nonsense. We went to TG, which worked out well. YJA never beat them and they were always ranked higher. The problem with playing on a B team, is that you usually (not always) will not get the looks from the top schools. Look at B team commitment lists. I would definitely recommend playing for Legacy, TG, Jesters, or YJA, but only if your daughter is valued and gets decent playing time. Being a top player on B is not as good as being a mid level player on A. If you are on any team, and not seeing meaningful field time, that is definitely not good. It is definitely very stressful trying to make the right decision, Good luck!

You want your daughter on an A team. However, not every player needs to be on Alabama. There are other programs that go to bowl games too. Help those teams compete and you never know on any given day what might happen.

Actually no ….no there is nothing to be said about paying thousands to watch your daughter ride the bench. Have to play to get better

From our experience, the bigger issue with a B teams, especially a YJ B team is that the top players never stick around year to year (until 9th grade). As a result, you never know how competitive the team will be. You can be a top 10 team one year and be lucky to be top 30 the next.
