This appears to be a post from a NLF soldier. NAL did not appear to be watered down. Naptown does not appear watered down either with the Hawks, Sweetlax, Texas Mohicans, Canadas top 2 teams and all the major clubs national teams that pull from across the country. It is one of the most recruited lacrosse tournaments with major sponsors and the championship games televised on TLN. And a ton of clubs trying to get in.
The NLF kickoff had 4 total teams in 23 division, 5 teams in the 25 bracket, and 8 teams in the 26 bracket. NLF is not the same that it was. Last years controversy with 25 Express North reclassing right after the season to play in the 26 bracket is one of many reasons this event has lost its credibility.
Club lacrosse has become too competitive and too national. Real rankings are now math based instead of subjective. The NLF is not an open market where the best can compete, it is a closed market run by the founding fathers trying to hold onto their power of club lacrosse. This is the beginning of the end for the NLF. After this is posted, you will hear from many of the powers that be become incredibly defensive and explain that no one else will be recruited.
The reality is that College coaches want to find talent - not just from the same 6 teams - but from any talented team especially those that can compete with against the best teams in the country. Everything changes over time. It is just a fact. Talent is incredibly easy to find now. A 4.6 is recruited over a 4.9 no matter what jersey is worn.
Thank you Mr Hogan but the competition at NAL was far superior than what you were able to pull for Naptown. Edge 2026? Evolve....Really? This field is set-up for the 26 hawks team to finally win something.
They will be in the running I'm sure, but who knows what the rosters of some of these National teams will look like. And Canada? You think the Crabs are old...... Canadians win the prize for being the oldest. The are so nice tho, ayeeeee Edge is no joke. Of course they arent, Oldest team by far. Make Crabs seem like on age. Sons Club Played Edge a few years ago. Whole EDGE team was playing down a year with holdbacks. Some had to be two years older than sons team. Coach excuse was that many would be doing a PG year. LOL. That is Edge in a nutshell.

Try outs are early this year- being held in July versus August. Anyone have thoughts on movements? Pro start only has HS level, anyone considering that team?

Naptown National Challenge 2023-2026 (High School) 2027-2029 (Youth)
Player Eligibility
1. All players must compete in the division if they graduated with the class they were in during the 2021-2022 Academic year. Players can always play up a division but not down. Regardless if a player will repeat in the future or plans to do a Post Graduate year, he must play with in the Division in which his class would graduate. 2. Players can only play for one team during the tournament. The Tournament directors will hear all requests for exemptions of this rule. All exemptions must be made one week prior to the start of the tournament. No players will be permitted to play for 2 different teams in the same Division. All decisions made by the Directors will be final. Players may be able to play up a division but will not be permitted to play down a division from their graduation year. Any teams found in violation will be removed from the tournament. 3. Only players who are registered and appear on team submitted roster are permitted to play in tournament.
4. Players enrolling in a Post Graduate year may play in the "oldest" Division the tournament offers. 🥲

Are you asking when is the last time a team was disqualified for using players too old or rostered on multiple teams? Rare, but it definitely happens.

4. Players enrolling in a Post Graduate year may play in the "oldest" Division the tournament offers. 🥲 This means that players have enrolled for a post-high-school-graduation year at a prep school to prepare for college. A player finishes high school, graduates, gets a diploma, and then goes to a prep school for a 1-yr taking other classes than they had in high school. A Post Grad year, does not include going to a junior college or a community college, but specifically at a prep school.

Pretty comical that you’re taking time out of your day on the sidelines there to post about it. We don’t all have kids that play elite level. In fact, most kids that play lacrosse aren’t elite level. Sometimes people will talk about other teams that aren’t “elite.” This is a 2026 lacrosse forum. Not a 2026 elite level lacrosse forum. In fact, my kid played in the second bracket at that tournament, so he’s about as anti elite as it gets. I just don’t like Saltwater.

Can we stop talking about this team as being elite? 1 goal win over Looney’s and taken to the woodshed by BBL and out of the championship bracket. #overrated

Very true statement on multiple fronts- some people are tired of the “elite” talk: the repetitive holdback gripes, the Hawkard parent reference and the pointless rankings. If elite, stop complaining so much. It is refreshing to hear about something else. The observation about Saltwater fans is spot- on. They are high energy but at some point that energy turns into obnoxiousness. Someone needs to tell the team that they should act like the team has scored before- stop turning each goal into a Super Bowl win celebration.

There is no clear top team. There's a clear group at the top that has proven that they can (mostly) all beat one another and have done so in the last year. That will likely continue all summer. Enjoy watching your kid play.
Lots of good Lacrosse at this age. Express, sweetlax , Crabs, Towermen, Leading Edge, 91, Tigers, Hawks, Tommyknockers, Kings, West Coast, Nxt, Bbl
Let’s bet clear. You can’t put BBL or NXT or Kings or WCS in the same category as those first 9 teams. You also forgot DC Express and tommynockers. The new Top 10ish is:
LIE Sweetlax Tigers Crabs Towermen DC Express 91 Hawks LE Tommynockers LXC Mohicans
All other 2026 teams are not at that level.
I would put 91 above Towermen.
Maybe. We will know after Naptown where everyone stands.
This poster is a seer, 91, NXT, BBL are better than Towermen

15 year olds. Nice. Maybe If these high school men could compete against men their own age, they wouldn’t be talked about like this. If they choose to play down, they (and their parents) should develop thicker skin.

Millon had Sweetlax, TX Mohicans, 3d NE, Hawks, Towermen and others. Were there weak teams in pool play? Yes. But on Sunday, every game was high level and competitive. One goal games, OT, tense. Hawks over TX and 3d NE over Sweetlax in great 1 goal semi games. Hawks over 3d NE in championship in a back and forth game. See you all at Naptown.

Naptown has over 10 of the top 30 and a bunch of National teams plus Edge and Evolve from Canada. A few more than at this weekend's Crabfeast.

I have to agree about the lower competition at Million. I know that Sweetlax sent a "blue national team" that has practiced together maybe 3 times. Possibly the upstate team is better? Doesn't matter, the kids all had fun. Looks like the parents are the ones beating on their chests. (Hawks)
