its not about is she better, but was told everyone was safe. and then pushed to White. Where is the trust level. If that was your daughter you would be upset and angry.

Is she better than that goalie? I would say at that time both of those goalies could have been interchangeable. Not a huge difference between them depending on the day. After time spent playing down on a B team, there may be a difference now. Not playing against the more competitive teams on a regular basis may have had an effect on her level of play. Where is she for high school?

Everyone R-E-L-A-X.
As someone who has been through recruiting multiple times, there is no position where what club team you play on matters less than goalie.
No goalie is getting offered without playing in person at a prospect day. (at least from a decent D1 program). Doesn't matter if she is backup goalie on Hero's White. If she blows coaches away at a prospect day or camp, she will get an offer.

Everyone was guaranteed a roster spot on Green or white. Nothing was promised except they would be on one of the rosters.

Good or not, none of these girls are getting off their respective B teams. Best of luck to them. Next topic.

Let's not act like she was with Hero's for years before that and got screwed (like the M&D 26 goalies), spent 1 year on Green as she was with M&D before that.

She is a good kid and this conversation would be a huge embarrassment to her if she knew about it. She is fine where she is. She likes the goalie coach over at SW which is why she is there now.

Absolutely! Kids become friends with their teammates, they like their coaches. If you’re good, you’ll get noticed. When you’re 30, no one will care if you played on an A or B team. And let’s face it, there is no fairness in club lacrosse, so A or B, many are in places because of who knows who.

Not to belabor a different age group, but the M&D 26 goalies did not get screwed. There are tryouts for a reason.

Even as an 2026 opponent, so easy to admit the difference between last year and this year, it's so obvious the goalie was a MAJOR improvement

Lets talk about 2025 Class, this isn't the 2026 class. Interested to see how this girls perform this summer after playing a spring of HS ball vs bigger, older girls. Should be a big benefit to the girls playing varsity in the IAAM and slight to the public school girls.

Any freshman make varsity? Making an impact? Most freshman from the top 3 teams in MD made their varsity teams. Very few will play and be impactful.

If you've been around the 25's for sometime you will no doubt recognize that a lot of freshmen made their varsity programs throughout the region.

The weaker the team the more impact. No top teams are waiting on freshman to make their team this season.

So I am new to the backofthecage I have to say it doesn't disappoint. I have noticed all teams seem obsessed with the goalies. Is this a new thing or just goalie parents are the primary posters? Trying to understand the LAX landscape and drama/politics.
Also are there any clubs that get girls recruited that are not drama filled and so political?

It just so happens that goalies were a recent topic on this page. They probably won't be discussed again for another year. No. Expect drama. Some of the "bigger" clubs are worse than others... do your research before you align with any of them. If you are talking to one and their promises are sounding great, there is a good chance another family is getting screwed over in that process.

Whatever you, just tiptoe and whisper around Long Island and Maryland parents.... we don't want them to know that lacrosse is played in other areas of the country also.

livelove lax schedule out! Lets fire up this board! I will predict NXT black goes 0-4. Who cares? At this point it's about preparing for the recruiting circuit that starts in the fall. Why not play the top teams? If you can get in the brackets with the top teams, then the better chances for college coaches watching your games in the future. When recruiting "officially" starts for the 2025s in the fall, it's far better to be prepared to play in brackets with top 20 teams then it is to play in top 50 teams as long as you can be competitive. Win - losses don't matter in showcases.

In terms of live play, performance at prospect days is much more important than tourneys since coaches will be watching you live.

If you are talking to one and their promises are sounding great, there is a good chance another family is getting screwed over in that process. First, change your perspective. Clubs don't get girls recruited to division 1, players do. Any girl in an A Maryland club will have plenty of opportunities. Its all about what you do with them. Top clubs get more girls recruited because they have better girls. The only thing less relevant that the club team a girl plays for, is the private high school they go to.

Ok get good film. Go to school camps not showcases. Seems boring. Who is going to win seems much more entertaining to talk about. What if defenders almost clear the ball but run back toward their own goal over and over again to get great tape clearing the ball. Really showcasing their awesome clearing skills. Would that be "smart" for defenders? Maybe we can have one more summer of pure lacrosse joy. What do you say?
