The top Suffolk B and C teams would give Northport a very hard time. WB beat Northport 11-7 scrimmage with clock n refs early season. But i know it does not count But meant alot to both teams that night

The Score was 11-9 in favor of Northport, not 9-1. 9-1 was the score in the Massapequa-CSH game

Southside seems to have new coaches. Two new females on the sideline yesterday.

The Floyd Commack game was actually a good game. That is the kind of game Floyd plays tight defensively. When Northport beat Floyd 6-4 and BayShore beat them 6-5 that was ok and good lacrosse I guess Northport dad.

Suffolk Girls Class C playoffs will be some good games. Seems like a lot of parity this season.

Wide open field! Good luck to all except BBP who is the 1 seed bc of their home game refs. Can’t wait to see them lose! So tired of this nauseating over hyped group.

Why are the brackets not out yet? Also sick of the stat seekers. Especially those who play more games than others and pad against weak teams, or play in weak conferences. The stat wars are really hurting many teams and turning girls into ball hogs!

The stat wars are really hurting many teams and turning girls into ball hogs! Brackets in Nassau are out, go to Sect 8 website. Let's see how many of those stat seekers teams advance, not many will. Teams with ballhogs are eliminated easily. Most of them play in lower conferences anyway and don't make playoffs.

So many different factors in the stats and it’s like comparing apples and oranges. Maybe only count stats in the playoffs. Other than that, a total joke!

Sad but if social media didn’t focus so much of the worth of the player by the stats, this wouldn’t happen. Some coaches also encourage it at even send any fake stats (like draw controls) they can into LILJ to promote their players.

Stats are always subjective, if you are on a very skilled team, usually you will see the points( goals and assists ) spread out. Multiple players scoring every game , because they are playing smart team lacrosse. Then you might get the kid who has big numbers, but the rest of the team doesn’t , one player does all the scoring. This could be by design, or that player is a ball hog. Then you get the private school stats, usually they play inferior talent and run up the score and pad their stats. It’s always funny when you see the private school boasting their kids stats vs some start up private school lacrosse team. It’s easy to check and see who the players scored against during the season, that will indicate if they are legit or not. Scoring 7 goals against the worst team in the conference, or did they score against the best team in the confrence. Additionally there are many stats that don’t get recorded that are very important, ground balls, offensive ground balls, defensive ground balls, draw controls, defensive take aways, shooting percentage.

Actually, both coaches sign off on the stats at the end of game and take a photo of both books. Sorry your daughter doesn’t have any. Stats aren’t everything but they do matter. If you have proof of fake stats you should contact Section XI not make outlandish statements with nothing to back it up. Why are the brackets not out yet? Also sick of the stat seekers. I thought I read the team is supposed to be made up of kids from the IL women's top 2022 list and the UA Watchlist. That said there will be a lot of deserving girls who don't get selected and a few who do that are head scratchers. to me this is the highest accolade a High School player can achieve... Congratulations to those who made it. one more round, Im hoping to see a familiar name

I was always under the impression that it fed off the UA Watchlist, why is there a watchlist to begin with then?

It would be great to see them keep stats on "Shots that should not have been taken" the shots that the selfish players take when they shouldn't... whether because of the situation in the game or because they should be making one more pass or because they are too far out or whatever... Many times these shots result in an easy save or miss the cage and result in a turnover either way these foolish shots result in transition for the other team and many times the end up with a goal for the other team.

The refs especially the tall blond were one sided today at the bbp vs rp game.2 second half yellow cards on fouls that were going on all game and lopsided free position calls.bbp must have had a dozen Free position.just ridiculous and totally changed the game in their favor .I felt like rp was beat by the refs.it seemed as though bbp offense was based on drawing shooting space.maybe the team had one assist .their zone defense is tough though.playoff lax needs a shot clock at a minimum.can’t go minutes without trying to get a legit shot.

Couldn’t agree more. Should be counted as a caused turn over when they run through 5 defenders just to not have to pass to any of the open kids in front of the cage and lose the ball. Same with charges. Ball hogs aren’t impressive.

BBP offense puts you in shooting space by working teams, not relying on it. They move the ball fast and close to the 12M. Rocky Point had a good year credit to the kids, and staff but they move the ball around 20-25M away from the goal that’s why they don’t get as many SS calls. So give me a break on the refs thing. RP should have had 2 other yellows earlier in the game as well.
Agree with your comment on shot clock we need it.

Are you guys serious.? Watch the game. BBP was the better team. Anyone can see that. RP was good but just not the better team - watch the game. Teach sportsmanship to your kids that applies to both teams but BBP deserved the win and they got it hands down.

Once playoffs begin you see how the lower division will struggle against better teams.

Some teams that are ranked in middle of pack or bottom of pack will feast on the worst competition. Highly ranked teams play the toughest schedule of opponents, that's what power ranking schedules does. That's why you always see a few high stat kids from weak programs. At least in Suffolk anyway....

Should No way lump conferences and the stats all together like that. It’s useless stats, that have no real insight to the best players. Save the stats for the playoff games and maybe then ,can get a better picture of the best players and their stats?

That won't work either. There are decent players on bad teams that don't make the playoffs. Those are usually the ones feasting on poor competition, but to only use playoff stats isn't fair either

My daughter's team has a really good defense, works the ball around for a good shot, never beats up the weaker teams too badly, and lets the younger players get in there when the game is out of reach. None of the girls are even close to being on these inflated stat lists. They had a great season. As a team. Ground balls, caused turnovers, draw controls, saving balls that could have been turnovers, pulling it out on free positions to keep possession. These things won games.
