Are the playoff games on turf going to happen today? Sorry, that was dense. Looks like all 4 games are over. Not as dense as talking about Catonsville girls playing in the “MIAA” though.

BR simply rides his wife's coat tails. May know about X's and O's but being a coach moves way beyond that. When you can't see past your own nose, you can't be a great coach. I wish PW all the luck in the world.

Sorry, that was dense, looks like the person asked the question over 5 hours ago-before the games were played. Seriously?

Quick question for the group: How do parents afford to have their girls attend these prestigious private schools? By no means am I poor, but I definitely cant afford 30k/year for high school. Are there special grants set aside for athletes? Very interested to see how I can get my daughter into one of these schools. There is quite a bit of financial aid available even if you make decent money. The threshold is pretty high not to qualify for something. If you have multiple kids in private school or in college that goes into the equation too. It's different for the catholic schools but those schools aren't as expensive as McD, SPSG, Bryn Mawr, etc. Get ready to lay out an extensive financial resume out on the table

I am pretty sure PW and BR are pretty close and no animosity exists between them. You folks are trying to create drama where this is none.

Wrong place for this question but... NO, if they allow it there should be an * stating "due to COVID"

If we asterisk the "Covid Year" records, then we'd need to asterisk records after each of the various rules changes in recent years. For instance, 10 years ago, there were 8 players around the draw circle, in addition to the actual draw takers. Later, only 4 players on the outer circle, but others could come off the restraining lines. Now it's 4 players on the circle, but no one else can cross the 30s until possession is gained. Therefore, anyone on a draw team is going to have way more opportunity to get a draw control stat than they were before each of the rule changes. Also, do you asterisk the girls that use a special stick vs the ones who don't?
As for scoring records, the extra few games a player might have gotten because of their "Covid Year" has less to do with the records being broken than the introduction of the shot clock. Losing the ability to take material time off the clock means more offensive sets per game, which inevitably means more shots & goals. Use the 90 seconds to shoot or lose possession.
Back to bashing MCD & SPSG...

Public Tourney predictions: 1A; Fallston 2A: Glenelg (wish they were in a different region than Century, they play way too early in tourney IMO) 3A: Severna Park 4A: Broadneck

That looks like a very chalky prediction. 1A: Liberty 2A: Glenelg would love to see them play the IAAM champ after states 3A : Marriotts Ridge - experience+ smart use of superstar player could be enough 4A: Broadneck: easier division then 1A this year
Division ranks total 2A>3A>1A>4A

I would tend to agree with this, other than 1a, I might go with bLiberty or South Carroll.

Breaking down MCD vs SPSG game today, draws and more draws, and predictable offense. SPSG was faster, better coached and simply ran a much better offense. MCD has a driving offense which tries to get setup for 8 meter and the defense for SPSG was able to make multiple stops. Team ball always wins and great defense. The coaching staff for SPSG is top notch with Gagnon at the wheel with great all American defense coach who played at Maryland on sideline as well as former USC attack coach. MCD has all time best player as coach who teaches the draw, best draw coach in the country. SPSG dominated all over the field. They will take on GCS who will dominate on the draw circle. Will be a great game to watch on Friday. Hope folks will come out.

Back to bashing MCD & SPSG... I’m taking McD in the upset over SPSG in the IAAM A semifinal As long as one team is well coached and the other is coached by TC21 this will never happen. I'm pretty sure the McD parents are fully aware at the disadvantage they are at currently considering they haven't beaten SPSG or GCS in the last two years. I'm guessing she will quietly walk away this offseason.

First time Mcd hasn’t seen the finals in nearly 20 years This is what happens when a coach has to work with who is at the school instead of being able to recruit and field a team of all D1 commits Any coach can win if the roster is full of the top players at an age group

First time Mcd hasn’t seen the finals in nearly 20 years McD (girls and boys) need to stop depending on the "#1" recruits. It's easy to shut it down because it's their MO. They have the talent and do not utilize it. Just because you are a great player, does not mean you are a great coach (it's been pretty obvious at this point). Will TC stay around much longer? Congrats to SP and GC, they play as a team and it's well deserved.

NDP has top D1 recruits, where did they end? McD has top D1 recruits, where did they end? It's about coaching. Period. You cannot win by not playing as a team and only depending on specific players. Period.

Yes we should because they didn’t get a full season more & no matter the record they put a lot of hard work and effort to get where they are

Her body of work as a coach is just starting. The coaches at spg, ndp and several others in the league have 10,20 and in some cases close to 30 years more experience.

Coaching takes over when teams have equal talent. Lacrosse is about the amount of great players you have to start-UNC not losing to Gardner Webb ever but UNC -BC or UMD comes down to coaching and prep. If you can'y win at MCD that is sad.

McD has lots of talent that wasn't as prepared as the talent at SPSG. SPSG is the better team but don't discount the student athletes at McD. These kids all play club together, it's not a talent issue. It's a coaching issue.

I don't think anyone is implying that McD doesn't have talent. I think it's quite the opposite. But it won't matter as long as they aren't coached to do anything but give the ball to one player and get out of the way. Defensively they have no answer for SPSG and GCS regardless of where those girls are committed to.

Didn’t Bryn Mawr coach make it just as far as TC this year as a rookie coach with arguably less talent? Point? I think the point is that someone stated TC has only been coaching a couple of years - meaning it shouldn't be "expected" of her to succeed right away, whereas BM has a new coach this year and had a great season.
