Lots of different scenarios could play out but DCE has the most challenging path to the playoffs without a doubt. Only 4 teams will be in playoffs and they will most likely be Crabs, Hawks, True, VLC. Not really - assuming VLC takes care of business against 91, the winner of the Friday night DCE/True game gets the fourth spot. Those are two good, evenly matched teams. I would not say that either team has a harder or easier path than the other.

So much for looneys. They have now lost to all of the other teams that were in the playoff for elite. Lots of grumbling from parents about who is staying past the spring.
They look much weaker than last year, while Top Caliber and Next Level look much better than last year. What happened to this team? They went from winning the Fall League to falling apart a year later. I would characterize this as a decline of the team's level of play based on player and coaching changes since that winning season. In the Spring 2021 season, Looney's 2026 went from winning Fall HoCo 2026 Elite to having a losing season. Of note is the fact that most games were very close. Did Looney's get worse, or did the other teams get better? Perhaps it was a bit of both. Obviously, the other teams improved more than Looney's did. Coincident with the start of this decline was a change in club leadership and the 2026 team's head coach. At the end of last Spring's losing HoCo season, several skilled players left for other teams, one of which is now leading the Elite division. Rosters change, coaches change. A few more games to play in HoCo and they will be off to high school and likely to other clubs, as it doesn't look like Looney's will be around much longer. Okay SC I am not SC. And to clarify, what I meant in the last sentence is that the club's leadership seems to have given up on operating the club as a going concern. No communications with parents, no uniforms this season, no off-season workouts or training, etc. In addition, the Looneys Lacrosse LLC (formed in 2019 when the new director took over) is not in good standing with the state of MD.

One thing is for sure. SC will take care of his....Good luck to everyone else! 👆🏻feel sorry for some of these boys who have been with Looneys for years and now at the most critical time will be scrambling to find teams. Does anyone on the board know what team will be having tryouts this summer? At this age, the word "tryout" is a bit misleading. If a great player wanted to change teams, or if a team needs a player at a certain position, teams will take him at any point in the year. They will tell him to come to a practice and that is his tryout. Most teams will hold August tryouts, which are basically pre-season practices for the returning players, and a chance to upgrade with a new player or two. The good teams are fairly baked in at this point. That said, I have watched them play and they have a lot of good players. For example, their goalie is very strong. (no, I am not the Looneys goalie Dad or Mom). Honestly I am surprised that they are not doing better in AAAA. If the team does fold, most of the players will land on elite teams, and those who do not will land on good second tier teams. But it is a good group of kids, and if they do scatter after playing together for several years, that would be sad. Thanks for your concern and I hope this helps!

Why are the Hawks giving up so many goals? Rage’s only in game adjustment is switching the goalie at half.

With the final weekend of the regular season coming up, curious on thoughts on how the overall season has gone versus expectations, how you've seen this age group develop over the last few years (or not), overall strength of age group and what position group overall you think is best (O, D, MF)?

The parity is great. Crabs are the best, but 4-5 of the other seven teams are capable of beating them. Of the remaining 7 teams, most of them could beat any of the others on any given day. That speaks well for the development of the age group as a whole.

They will be boarding at BL next year and are holdbacks. Two of them are very good. #24 and #12. They flew in for DCE and Hawks games and will be returning for the playoffs. stinks to be the local right attack and Fogo as those holdbacks are taking their playing time from now on. Madlax has also been flying in kids who are normally on their summer National team to try and stem the bleeding. I’m assuming all these kids were proactively placed on the rosters before the fourth game per HoCo rules.

The protest has to be made within 1 hour of a playoff game. It's been done before and done successfully.

While they are driving to and from airports we can enjoy life and our kids are out with friends and already forgot if they won or lost. Not taking off their shoes or going through TSA to board a plane. There's 100's of kids in MD going to awesome schools and will play MIAA lax traveling 15 minutes from their house. Be glad you aren't the schmuck and leave them alone. That's not even touching on the embarrassment of repeating a class and being the oldest kid in the room by 2 years.

Some people are desperate for 15-20 min of playing time, spending their weekend traveling, and spending tons of money for Maryland lacrosse.

I can see some teams folding/losing players/adding players after this spring. Looneys for sure, probably going to lose best players, goalie. FCA is going to lose a few players, probably the two best midfielders and FO. 91 will probably lose the one attack man and the three best middies and possibly their goalie. Hawks will subtract and add, same with Crabs. DCE will definitely add to their team. Not sure about the other teams, but that’s probably the breakdown

Players and parents willing to travel that extra 20-30 minutes to practice if need be with less of a time commitment necessary for club lacrosse for the HS players. Wait until tryouts and you'll see.

Looneys talent? Oxymoron? Worried your son is going to lose his spot? Looney's goalie is better than most of the elites. They also have a couple of elite attackmen and a close pole who can play on most elite teams..

DMV posters already think there are too many teams in their area. The VLC Black Ops (WS) team attracted a lot of talent. DCE coached the team and was able to attract many of those 2026 players to DCE this year. Keeping talent playing together is the key to continued success.
