As it used to be said, “the sun never sets” on the British Empire,” Baltimore and the MIAA-A’s best days are in the past… Literally no one nationally cares about the WCAC. Say whatever you want to. You are basically Baylor or Cincinnati in football. Begging for relevance in spite of recent success. No one cares. Please leave thread. No one comment on WCAC. Done. Yawn

CH 11 BL 10 (Final) CH has woken up. BL had its opportunities and will be there in the end.
StP 10 McD 4 (Final) Down the stretch- StP rising, McD fading.
AS 9 LB 4 (Final) Offense still not fixed on Chestnut Ave.
St Mary’s 11 Gilman 3 (Final) St Mary’s the league leaders. Nothing fancy, but 100% effective. Change offense to coaching on Chestnut and you have it right.

St Johns beat the MIAA champs from the past 4 years CHC 3 peat & BL last year. CHC & Boys Latin are the cream of the MIAA and SJC walked both of them in real games this year. SJC starters were smacking the snot out of St Marys in their scrimmage 6-1 at halftime early this year. SJC pulled big tasty & all of their ballers at the end of 2qtr & you claim to beat them in a SCRIMMAGE. That is hysterical to think St Marys would give SJC a real game if BL & CHC had no chance in their actual game attempts. IF St Marys goes undefeated & wins the MIAA ship, please sack up & pick up the phone Lily. Anytime, anywhere. But you have to be undefeated like SJC will be & if not SJC will play Brunswick (post grad) and or whoever the 2nd best team is after St Marys poops the bed. IMG 20-9 tonight and that was nice. You do care about the WCAC because this conference has the best team in the country this year & it is nothing like Cincinnati or Baylor because SJC has the toughest out of conference schedule in the country & they beat CHC & BL which is the AL & GA in your week butt football analogy. Please don’t reply because their already laughing at you not with you.

IAC results:
Episcopal in an upset 13-9 over St Albans Prep over SSSAS 16-7 Bullis over Landon 10-6
Last games of season on Tuesday and playoffs begin next weekend.
Bullis plays Prep on Tuesday. If wins, outright regular season conference champions. If loses to Prep, both Bullis/Prep co-champions.
Top two teams get first round bye. Bullis guaranteed first round bye. Prep, due to earlier loss to Landon needs to win for a bye. If Bullis wins Tuesday, Landon becomes #2 seed and gets a bye.

Time for the new AD at Loyola to clean house. The coaching is absolutely terrible along with the offensive starters. What a waste of a season…especially for the talented defense and about 2/3 of the bench that never even sees the field.

McD is McDone. They are easiest team in the MIAA to game plan as their offense is as one-dimensional as a 4th grade rec team. F/o X is an even bigger issue than the head scratching coaching decisions. They may not make the playoffs.

Don't expect any coaching changes for another 2 seasons. By that time your son will have graduated and you will care less. Remember, unless there is a legitimate crisis, nothing happens fast over on Chestnut Avenue.

They may not make the playoffs. Can someone answer the obvious questions, why does McD have a one dimensional offense where everyone stands around watching one player dodge into a backer zone? Do they really only have one good offensive player? Can't they run a pick oriented motion offense that opens up less talented offensive players for easy shots? Why does the FO game appear so disjointed and uncoached? How can an experienced HC and Coordinators utilize an offense or field a FO unit like this?

Deepest league in the country. I know, right?! Usually has three teams in top 25 of the country, and fair share of national championships. Pretty impressive for a bunch of quarter zip families from the lacrosse backwater of the DMV. How does the IAC do it year in and year out? Impressive!

MCD will be a joke until the kid who shoots 35 times a game graduates. He’s stifling the development of every other player on offense. He’s in the way. I agree. He has unbelievable skills but only uses them to drive and shoot. Great players make the players around them play better (and McD has some great talent on the field outside of 9). He seems to make the whole less than the sum of its parts. Coaching most def shares the blame for that, but when the O coach is your older “brother from another mother” it’s unlikely to change. It will be interesting to follow him to see how he integrates into Dukes scheme. Current playing style does not seem to be a good match.

Nothing, That has been said many times, McD does less with the high quality of players they have than most teams in MIAA except one, which is the the same, LB.

If the player is on the cover of every lacrosse magazine, he has to be played regardless of his true skill. He is a good player like many others in MIAA, just why does the ball have to go to him on just about every possession , He shoots a lot of terrible angle shots and loses the ball regularly, This is on the Coaches , they are the problem, not the player. Player is just doing what he has done when he plays club.

If the one person offense is a MCD thing, wouldn't the AD realize how ineffective it is and counsel the coaches involved? Can't be good for a Program's recruiting efforts or are prospective parents just too notIntelligent to notice? That uncontrolled one v one stuff translates into riding the bench at Duke. They have the ultimate team offense in collegiate lacrosse. That won't happen with this player. This is a management not player related issue: based on the posts above, the MCD athletic director is asleep at the wheel but that isn't uncommon in the private school community.

Happens all the time at HS and college in girls game. Cummings was like that at McD and MD. It doesnt work for boys. One player can not dominate a boys game at HS or college, maybe youth. . Easy to control and game plan for.

What is hard to understand, is that many people watching McD play see this, I have talked to many former players and some coaches who are feel the same way, what's going on to allow one player to dominate the offense, when he clearly is not making others around him look better the majority of time. The player who is not to be blamed, is just being the player without any guidance from coaches that is constructive. McD is on the way down and we all see it except McD coaches who must be dancing to a different drummer.
