Can't believe the "experience" will be a fun one getting beat consistently by double digits.

Exactly! Should be placed in a lower tiered bracket. Makes no sense for them to be placed in this bracket, unless they have some ringers coming to the team.

There can be value gained from losing 13-3, there is rarely value in losing 24-0 which is more likely to happen

I’d agree but all of the other strong programs are also in this tournament.

Hey most certainly do not. It’s. 29U team and the only good 29’s they have play for the 28 team.

They only have two decent 29s playing up. The other two definitely do not belong!

What team are you referencing here?

How can you weigh in if this team has not played a game yet? Are you going to watch their practices? Just wondering how you are able to comment on the talent level of a team that has not yet played.

You're absolutely correct. But, not participating in a regular season to get experience before hopping into a super competitive tournament schedule could make for a long summer.

Great weekend of lacrosse in sweltering heat. Congrats to all of the girls. Hero’s Green 12-7 over M&D Black in the finals.

Well deserved by Heros. The 29 team interrupted M&D’s A division dominance in all of the other age groups

Why is it every year tryouts seem to be announced a little earlier than the previous year? And does anyone change their dates to match earliest program?

M&D had the earliest tryouts last year and it seems as though the other clubs are following suit. Surprised any club puts tryouts before the summer tourney season is over honestly. Some Girls found out about M&D tryout results AT MidAtlantic last year and it wasn't pretty...

That's a good point. However, you also need to consider that any kid serious about switching teams will have already worked in with them during the season.

The unfortunate reality is that for most top clubs, tryouts are really only for B teams. Most coaches already know who they want on their team.

This process tends to work well. When it doesn't work is when a top team doesn't have its tryouts on the first week. Then you have more kids turn down already accepted offers.

Any big surprises from this weekends tournament? Looks like a M&D held on against Coppermine… Again… In the top bracket.

Should probably ask the 2028 thread.

I think this has been noted here before. 2028 Skywalkers is carrying three 2029 girls. Not sure when they will move down to their age year but when they do that team should get an instant lift.

Lot of good teams this weekend in Live, Love, Lax tourney, including some New York teams Yellow Jackets and Top Guns. Should be a better judge of where teams stand

Is it safe to say that Heros is the “top team” in the nation in this age group?

I think they had a good showing at lax for the cure and have beat M&d black the last several times they have played them.

Coppermine went 3-1. They lost to the same LI Yellow Jackets team by 1 that they beat last week by 1 & didn't make the playoffs.

M&D also went 3-1. Lost to Hero's Green by 1 but otherwise won out & didn't make playoffs.

MD united went 4-2 and lost to Hero's Green by 2 and to LI Enpire Team 91 Bandits by 1 in their championship game.

Hero's Green went 7-0, beat M&D and MDU, plus the teams that beat Coppermine and M&D.

Hero's Green has my vote as the best in the area and probably the country.

Coppermine was also in a lower bracket than those teams you mentioned.

Coppermine played Heros white. They are a good B team,..but…why? just based on that I’m guessing they were in a lower bracket. Agree about Heros green. Will be interesting to see if M&D adds any talent through tryouts; I am sure they have some new players lined up.

Would not be surprised if there is some team jumping with all the teams with parents looking for more playing time

No idea why Coppermine played in a lower bracket - my guess is that they didn't want more than 3 MD teams in each bracket, since that's what they had. They probably went of the ngll final standings. I can tell you no one on Coppermine wanted to drive to NJ to play in a lower bracket.

Being this was a bracket style championship there was no need for a A pool, etc. Top two pools were somewhat even as Heros B is better than A teams from other clubs. Plus having Heros, MDU, M&D and Coppermine in the same pool would have knocked out two good teams from playoffs. Look at M&D missing playoffs finishing 3rd in their pool. And they played heros one of the toughest tests of the tournament.
Coopermine should have made it in but never got to play that LI team that won the pool. No doubt if they had the chance thet would have gotten in.

Maybe Coppermine will have a chance to redeem themselves this weekend in Hershey… Or maybe not considering they play heroes green and aces.
