Ehh everyone loves to detest on the True program.. money grab bla bla bla (all clubs are money grabs btw.) Solid staff, great support for players and coaches, ample opportunity to get better. Specialized position skills training offered outside of practice times. Great option if you’re in the Annapolis area and don’t want to deal with the egos that go along with the Hawks players, staff, and parents. I’d say less than 10% of the true players could play for the Annapolis Hawks. Those egos have been earned with a decade of superiority. Ironically enough there is plenty drama and ego in the true program, just without the winning. The only thing that they are earning is W-2s for their coaches. Every club is a money grab. You are paying for a chance for your kid to grow, get noticed, and hopefully play at the next level one day whether it be D1, D2 or D3. The biggest money grabs are the National teams. Absolutely outragious prices just to play in a tournament or a clinic. On another note....if you are a KP or Blue Claws parent are you moving your kid after this season knowing they have no teams after 8th grade? Blue Claws have a ‘25 team. So it looks like they might be offering hs teams. Not sure about KP. I have 2 kids who just went through this somewhat recently. One is a hs Jr, and the other is a freshman. From what I saw, there is no reason to move in 8th grade. There are a lot who reshuffle at freshman year. And the roster sizes open a little too. Plenty of options out there for hs freshmen.

From what I saw, there is no reason to move in 8th grade. There are a lot who reshuffle at freshman year. And the roster sizes open a little too. Plenty of options out there for hs freshmen. Accurate and key points: 1) Summer before 9th grade is the time to leave 2) Slightly more spots than MS years (rec teams go away but numerous 9-12th only teams show up) 3) KP held tryouts for 2025s and 2024s last summer but the (only slightly verified) story is that at least the 2025s were beamed up to the True Baltimore mothership. 4) Not sure if KP is actually running a 2025 or 2024 team, based on #3. I don't know why clubs WOULDN'T run high school teams honestly. They rarely practice (no more 4x per week), rarely play (no more HoCo), and cost twice as much as MS teams. The "cost" morphs into "paying for access" to coaches who will coach you (correctly this time, unlike the dad coach you had at 91 or Zingoes since 3rd grade) or make a call on your behalf to a HS or college coach.

Dear Maryland area teams,
If your team is looking to play the best teams in the north east the tournament to join to see the most of them will be the Tristar Lax Clash, so far 3D NE and 4 Leaf are signed up, you’d have to imagine Express and express north will be there for sure as it’s an express event, and all the other too Long Island teams SHOULD be there (91, legacy, S2S, rush, rebels, turtles & igloo), and I’m sure others from New England/Jersey will be there! You bring the old bay and crab cakes and we’ll bring the bagels, and BECSPK
Yours Truly, Long Island Dad Have you seen 4 leaf kids? They drive themselves to games. It’s a joke. Not sure about 3D NE.

Signed up already - cavalry, 3D ne, 4 leaf, rush, stealth, legacy and prime time We see those teams regularly and not one of them has been able to beat Madlax or the Hawks. The only team relevant up there is 91.

3D NE and Express North are legit. Both teams would be a toss up vs Madlax and Hawks . . . and they would lay a beat down on the rest of the DMV teams. To say 91 is the only relevant team north of MD is just not accurate.

Are they going with 8/8/8/8/6? I don't think there's another meeting until next week..........I'd be happy to be wrong about this, so fire away. 8/8/8/8/6 is a good look for this age group. 8/10/8/12 (last numbers I heard on the practice sidelines lol) seems less ideal.

Whose the 8th elite team? That's the mystery. Rumor mill is that both KP and Claws refused to go to Elite but if that's true, somebody else stepped up. Can't imagine it was HLC, and FCA White would make zero sense. Anybody else from last year's lower AAA would be......a bad look. Maybe some team from out of state?

For the kids sake I hope they are not going elite.

Maybe they throw VLC in bc it's mostly the Cavs team they tried to put there a year ago. Brutal way to start a new team but I guess it will build character.

If that’s the case they should just go 7 teams. Holding to 8 teams makes no sense if that last team can’t compete (Team 91) or doesn’t want to be there (Kelly Post).

And Express North smacked Madlax . . . But it was the fall so take it for what its worth. We’ve already been down this road— literally half of Madlax starters were not there. Football take precedence in the fall. The two times these teams played in the summer with full rosters, it was not competitive— something like 9-2 and 7-3.

KP's website lists two teams for 2028, but not sure how current it is. If true, it's possible they have one in Elite and one in AAA. Their 2nd team is a middle-pack A team. Good kids whose #2 sport is lacrosse. Not headed into AA or anywhere else. Rumor was that when 8 kids showed up to True Baltimore's tryouts (True has an "ownership interest" in KP now), True co-opted the KP #2 team for fall tournaments, so I am curious whether their A-level team is branded True or KP for the HoCo season. Guess we'll see soon.

Of all the brands to go under Preds is the bottom of the barrel. SMH.

Anyone from VLC know if they are going to try elite. Defense is pretty good. But will have hard time scoring goals. Bet they are in elite next year so I could see them trying it.
Also I’m not sure why people are so sure it is a 6 team league. Who has True Annapolis beat recently that suggests they will be competitive in elite? I think it is maybe a 5 team league with BLC, True, and whoever is the eighth team in a different class.

I think that team did well in AAA, but it seems unlikely that they recruited and trained an entire second team that is roughly as good in a year.

by 8th grade elite will have 10 teams I predict
VLC Crabs 91 Hawks FCA ML NL True Annapolis BLC/DCE
And someone else who probably won’t win a game but they will need a tenth. Your guess is as good as mine who that is.
For this year though I heard it’s 91 as 8th team.
