Actually it is spot on. Who cares where you are "ranked". You aint first, youre last.

I know prep got smoked by SJC; who did Mcdonogh lose to? CH won as did St Mary’s in their openers.

They lost to Bullis in a scrimmage 10-8. Both teams looked good though.

I heard MCD lost in a scrimmage vs Bullis and played with 100% reserves for more than a half. Bullis kept starters in for first four quarters.

For the first 4 quarters? How many quarters did they play?

Speaking of McDonough, MM’s dream of having both his boys on varsity ended yesterday.
His youngest had his foot squashed by a forklift at Costco. He’s out for the year at least. Not an easy injury to overcome.

McD and Bullis played 5 "quarters". McD played backups most of the 2nd half. Both teams played their backups in the 5th.

Good article on Truitt Sunderland and the new bench at Calvert Hall:

Calvert Hall lacrosse star Truitt Sunderland took a quick break from a recent practice, sitting on the newly elongated team bench inside the school’s stadium and taking it all in.

With the spring season ahead, the senior attackman was right where he wanted to be on an uncharacteristically warm day in late February.

Sunderland, who missed the past two seasons after a sensational freshman debut, is grateful to be on the field again. And his plans for the days ahead are big.
“With COVID two years ago and then being injured last year, something you learn is not taking any days for granted because you never know when the last day may be,” he said. “So it’s just fun being out here every day.”

Or perhaps you are underestimating SP. I watched the game - Landon was in it and scored two in the final five minutes. Two solid teams.

After the early season scrimmages and games:

1. Calvert Hall - very very dangerous
2. BL- some real surprises
3. McDonogh- talent everywhere best D
4. Loyola- Super solid
5. St. Marys- athletic and big
6. St Pauls- flashy and can move
7. Gilman- sleeper
8. Spalding- no identity
9. Severn- not strong or aggressive
10. St Joe- lots of heart
11. John Carrol- no focus

I watched the game as well and an SP alum. They looked good just not enough firepower on offense to compete with the better teams. Landon was not very good; poor transition, poor off ball movement and horrible ground all game.

pretty much agree with everything. would probably flip McD & BL and would move Spalding up to #4 or #5 with Loyola

Is St Pauls really that good and Spalding that bad?

There are some big time games this week also.

John Carroll needs to go back to the B conference. What is their MIAA record the past 5 seasons? 3-47 or something like that?

1. Calvert Hall - should win it every year with their numbers.
2. Spalding- should win it this year with their talent.
3. Mcd- should have won it last year with their talent.
4. BL- should win it this year with their coaching.
5. Loyola- see Calvert Hall and St. Mary’s.
6. St. Marys- should be looking for a new coach next year.
7. St Pauls- Parents should wait a year to hype this team. Still a year out.
8. Gilman- should be a little better with the coaching. Just not sure the talent is there yet.
9. JC- should be a little better, but no depth to hang with top guys.
10 St Joe- should invest in their program more. Not enough kids staying home.
11 Severn- should fix their narrow field. A couple solid players, but not enough depth.

Calvert Hall finally plays a legitimate team this early Spring Season on Thursday and will get run by 5+ goals in a loss.

No identity? Whatever you say. We have Mighty Mouse, Fights A Lot and the best goalie in Maryland. Going to the Ship.

So according to you 4 teams should win it?
