Question for the Baltimore/Annapolis parents out of curiosity, do the teams mostly sort at this point with current or future BL kids at Crabs, future Calvert Hall players at FCA, and a mix of St. Mary’s/Severn at Hawks or does it not split along school lines like that? A bunch of NL kids will end up at Gonzaga Landon and Georgetown Prep

A bunch of NL kids will end up at Gonzaga Landon and Georgetown Prep That’s right. Probably 2/3 of the NL roster will end up at those three schools. The other 1/3 will be at an assortment of other dc area privates and a couple public schools kids. For BLC, I think based on the kids I know the same 3 schools will get a good chunk of the roster, but likely the kids will spread out a little more than NL at different DC area privates and a small number of public school kids. Madlax will have a Landon contingent like always, but probably not as many Gonzaga or a Prep kids as NL or BLC just because they don’t have as many MoCo catholic K8 kids and school choice of people in NoVa is harder to predict. Both NL and BLC are almost all MoCo kids with a couple of Dc kids and a very very small number from NoVa. The big wild cards in DC are whether SJC will continue to get some kids that might have in years past went to Gonzaga and Prep, whether Dave is able to bring some NL kids with him to DeMatha, and whether Bullis can put together a good class.

Any educated guesses on who the final 2 teams will be in HoCo Elite 2028? Prob 2 of the following teams: BLC, Kelly Post, VLC, Blue Claws? BLC for sure. Then probably Kelly Post. Blue Claws is close to KP so could be them too. VLC isn’t close to these teams yet. They will be mid to bottom of AAA. Should be BLC and Blue Claws.

In a normal year, KP the winner would move up and BLC stays. Blue Claws would be a good addition to elite since they are big and physical. Some teams could have made the leap but won’t know for a few more months.

Far more of the ML 28 team will be at Gprep/Gonzaga and Paul VI (for Northern VA kids) than Landon.

They’re essentially the Cavalier team, which is a perennial Elite level club. And they’ve got some other good athletes too. VLC has had significant success at the older levels, too. I think BLC is out over their skis in this division— they got blown out in the Elite division last year where they clearly didn’t belong— score about 20 goals to 80 allowed. Not sure how they’re all of sudden so deserving of a spot in the Wlite division…. Could put 20 kids into early retirement with another bagel in the Win column.

Can’t speak to the NL and BLC kids, but roughly 1/2 of the Madlax team is public school kids, mostly VA. I suspect a lot of them will eventually find their way into private though, as they've already started that migration.

Nice to see it. What is there other than Warthogs/Coyotes and MadLax? Agree though. Arrows / MABLL were working out 3x per week in Baltimore County until the holidays hit. I think they are mostly focused on taking some 2026 and 2027 groups from Roughriders, HoCo, and other stragglers (True Annapolis, Rockfish, Preds) to a few tournaments this winter. Haven't started back up yet after the holidays. No word on whether they are playing in the Navy league at the 2027/2028/2029 levels. In Baltimore, Baltimore City Lacrosse Community (BCLC) (basically, entry level rec for city kids) and Baltimore Elite (BLE) are doing some trainings and ??? maybe ???? a pickup league. This is really more like "indoor lacrosse" which is fine too.

And hey, it’s Age Based for all you holdbacks whiners. 10u, 12u, and 14u. 5 on 5 with regular goalie gear in 4x4 nets, no poles. Wide open, high scoring, highly recommend in fall/winter late 2022. Lots of Madlax, DC Express, VLC, Hammers, BLC, and True Va helmets.

Scores at the HOCO tournament this fall suggest you might be the one that is misinformed: Madlax 14 VLC 2 Next Level 11 VLC 0 BLC 7 VLC 0 Total score: 32-2. Kelly Post and Blue Claws would also easily beat VLC. Same with FCA white. VLC’s only wins against HOCO teams was a win against AA Team Maryland and A Rockfish. VLC should win a game against a AAA team before talking about elite I’d think.

They got smoked their first 3 games in existence (the ones you quoted) and then went like 4-4 the rest of the fall, including a 5-1 loss to Crabs. I don’t have a dog in this race, but I’ve seen them play and they’re better than BLC. BLC is flat out awful, no business in Elite. Maybe VLC doesn’t belong there either, but it’s not a slam dunk BLC over VLC.

Last year they let Black Ops combine kids from 4 teams which is the exact opposite of what WSYL stands for. Sadly they still couldn't win which is comical. They were struggling to fill the team slots hence breaking with tradition. Just make sure to bring your checkbook.

BLC deserves to play wherever they want to play for not folding last year like a few others who started in elite. These boys are playing lacrosse now because they want to be good they play in a bunch of good tournaments and they have a handful of good players but these boys dont deserve to drop down because then you have blc orange and blc blue in the same division and KP will get smoked

If you want a 20 goal win. What you don't want is 4 northern VA/DC teams combining and breaking the rules and still getting smoked by a LI team.

It’s an aged based tourney not that hard. Will they send their age based players is a different story.
