Mcd is constantly underperforming. Is that due to the coaching they get at 91? Many 91 players I know walk on eggshells for fear of one screwup = benching. So instead of playing their game, they play tentative and safe. I'd guess that style of coaching has at least something to do with it. Now that McD head coach has joined the Predators, wonder how this will effect 91 teams ? Looks like Preds may be getting some future McD boys, cant be good for MM.

MM will 100% sell the 91MD to 3-Step or whoever, once his rockstar 2025 class has largely committed to college programs. Won't be long (Spring 2024?). Look at the (non) emphasis on any of the younger teams. It's not tracking towards "longevity" or what have you.

Every ‘91 team younger than ‘25 had a bad losing record last year. McDonogh coach knows it. He’s not keeping his eggs in one basket.

Yawn. 91 is yesterday’s news now that son is committed. Watch. I believe he has another son on the 2025s, so (duh) that team gets a lot of coaching and focus as well, there has been a lot of attention paid to getting high quality talent to support son #2. Like somebody already posted, I am sure MM has batted away offers to buy Millon events and T91MD for the past few years, he has built a good product, and it's not like buyers were pitching to Aloha and Hogan and NOT to Millon. But yeah the common sense option would be for him to hit eject on both LLCs once he feels that his 2025s have been well recruited.

It's not a feeder to McD. Not a MM fan, but let's be fair, the 91 squads he has spent serious time with, have enjoyed decent recruitment and rostering at MIAA schools definitely including McD. But no I wouldn't call it a "feeder." Especially with the insanity of the McD athletic director? varsity coach? suddenly sharing Predators leadership with the SP varsity coach.

McD coach has done the coaching rounds with various clubs including Crabs. This is just another club to recruit and make some money from. And probably biggest reason, McD Coach doesnt want to get left behind on the best up and coming Club in Baltimore , Predators. Talk of Northern Baltimore lacrosse community.

For now they are stuck out in the mud at low tide .

Much like a (non medical) diploma from JHU, that Crabs helmet has more appeal far away from Baltimore than it does in Baltimore. I don't love the Crabs org and don't mind if they fail, but I've personally met a pile of parents relocating from GA, FL, VA, NC and TX and looking at the North Baltimore Schools, for a "lax school" for Boden or Brayden or Brody or whoever their kid is. Curiously BL is more successful at recruiting these kids than the other schools. Most of those families will seek to ingratiate themselves to King Krab because they know those yellow helmets from Instagram. Crabs will be OK whether the kids are from Timonium or Texas or Tanzania. 91? LOL not so much.

So far 13 kids on 91 2023 have received offers and have made their decisions …. More to come!
20 from 2022’s received scholarship money from the school they chose; two others are going preferred walk on route.
2024’ we’ll see but may be the entire team. This is the first team at 91 that has been on board from day 1. This team is a true testament to great coaching!!
91 coaches player development. It’s not about winning the rigged tournaments. Now let’s see how it matriculates into college. A great program to follow.

Clubs are marketing machines not lacrosse academies. High schools develop kids. High school coaches develop players. 91 does a great job of marketing kids.

Team 91, overall record: 5-21 .192 win percentage. Honestly none of this is relevant. Your son playing on T91 at age 9 or 12 almost makes it *less* likely they will be on T91 in 9th grade when all the rec rosters collapse and search out a home for college recruiting........and find a home at T91 who then goes out and wins big games. The T91 records at the younger age groups just don't mean anything because those kids won't be playing for 91 in the future.

Well stated, one fall my son played on a club that had 4 practices and 15 games. That is not "developing players" lol. In too many fall ball games, the boys are either playing soft because they are up by 12, or playing deflated because they are down by 12. However, the clubs and tourneys make a pile of money, the sponsors are happy, and for a few players, some buzz is generated. All that is great & fine, but the idea that it's "for player development" is a joke.

And don’t look at our records. We are really coaching these kids up. Despite our lousy record, disorganized sidelines, and the terrible product on the field.

Our MD boys in the 2026-2029 range are probably at the end of MD/NJ/NY/NE scholarship dominance as the programs in CA, TX, GA, and FL grow to fill up roster slots in ACC and Ivy League schools. Our sons may beat that wave of kids to college but it's coming.

Lots more competition for D1 spots and more of them , will be going to the powerhouses and kids that are forming in those states. Hotbeds are changing.

All that is great & fine, but the idea that it's "for player development" is a joke.
Sorry your son couldnt make a top club team and win some games and tournaments. That kind of thinking will not get your son a D1 scholarship.
Didn't T91 go 1-15-1 last year at 2028?
D1 scholarships lol.
That wave is already here. It’s here and they have learned by watching all the tricks to advantages too! holdbacks are becoming the norm for them as well. Lots more competition for D1 spots and more of them , will be going to the powerhouses and kids that are forming in those states. Hotbeds are changing. Out of state players didnt take long to catch up to the whole holdback bonanza going on. Most UA teams from different regions are loaded with holdbacks. Crazy , but it works at the high level as long as your son is a very good player to begin with.

I don't know about all that but I know that they are running a business and that right now, the #1 recruit in the country is in their backyard, and his dad runs events where they could do more business, and runs a club where they could do more business. And in addition, to that MM is a PR machine himself. If I were running ECD I would align myself with MM Jr. Yes I would. And they have.

Asked my son the other day what was going on at 91.
His response- “No one wants to play for 91 anymore.”
All the kids who came over from 91 on my sons team this year pulled their decals off before tryouts. So something is going on over there. Things go in and out of trend. Or it’s just run it’s course. Seems like 91 is the new Looney’s.

Seems like 91 is the new Looney’s. Are you kidding me? Most of the kids that are vacating probably weren’t making the cut at 91. Their 2024 team is one of the better teams in the country (arguably the best in MD) and their 2025 team is hands down the #1 team in the nation. The better kids will come to the 26’s and 27’s next year. Go play for your AA program and continue to bash the best.
