That’s the biggest thing here. These kids are a couple years removed from HS. They are going to have to play older kids immediately. Crying about holdbacks is nauseating. Single handedly ruining the boards. Guess what? Nothing is going to change. If anything, it’ll happen more.

Yea, There is no difference between playing High School and under 8th grade to 1st grade Youth lacrosse. Can you holdback apologists at least try to be somewhat reasonable with your apologies.

Isn’t that how it works? If your kid is good enough to make varsity as freshman he will be playing with seniors. If your holding your kid back now in hopes he makes varsity as freshman you have issues.

And I along with others would say, the epidemic of holdbacks at the youth level is ruining lacrosse for majority of people.

Only reason it is accepted is that private schools are a big engine of high level lacrosse and they have the majority of holdbacks at youth. In MD everyone wants to play MIAA, which is holdback central.

And I agree, holdbacks will be more and more as years go by.

The rule should be anyone who wants, can play down a year ( age wise). just like holdbacks do now. This would be for 1st thru 8th youth lacrosse. That way. no moaning and groaning about holdbacks, Not everyone would use it, but it would be a good thing for youth sports in lacrosse

Yeah. It should be on age through middle school. Then in high school go to town holding your kids back if that’s your thing.

The Youth Lax seen is ridiculous. Youth lax tournaments should all be World Series of Youth lax model until after 8th grade. Then hold back all you want at least the majority of the kids will have hit puberty.

I think that would be a real positive result for any new team.

The parents who are accusing people of "crying" about their holdback kids are the ones ruining the sport for kids who are playing by the rules. It has now turned into a free for all just so you can finally be satisfied with your kids performance. Pathetic.

Some of us who are telling you to stop crying have on age kids. We just don’t want to get into the excuses and whining. I know it is hard for you to imagine that people have a different viewpoint.

Easy there, Do agree with you about ruining the sport of youth lacrosse, but unfortunately holdbacks are within grade based rules, doesnt matter the age, only grade.

Technically, single, double, triple, quadruple holdbacks can play within their grade at youth, Sorta ridiculous if you think about it.

What are these rules you speak? Honestly, Hoco and most tournaments are set up by grade year.

Nationals lacrosse at odds with Madlax and Cabels tourneys- booted from the US Club Lax championships in Orlando and others. Uh oh!!!

Smart move by Madlax. Nationals would have embarrassed them again.

Booted, how? Why? Makes no sense.

Removed from the tourney, hotels canceled.

They got too good. Simple as that.

All their kids are from other teams, hence them being “Nationals”. Club Nationals is a national tourney where nationals teams from all over participate. The 2027 Nationals team didn’t cheat at Club Nationals last year. They don’t have holdbacks. They are just really talented and beat the garbage out of everyone last year. Sad that people can’t digest that, and always make excuses.

On age is a tough one for top clubs to compete.

The kids playing on Nationals '27 are exceptionally good. They should beat up on everyone and they do. The problem isn't with the kids but with the guy running the club. Well document M.O. Not uncommon territory for him. Why is this surprising to anyone?
