New president, principal and vice principal due to the fact they awarded grades to athletes. That is truth. The school is a joke.
Hurts not to be invited to play and attend SG, we all understand your pain. No need to lash out . In the world of Zen that doesnt work in long run. Look inward and have some self adjustment.
lol - as if it's difficult to get into SG. GTFO with your superiority complex - you can get a better education at Severna Park for free.
More fake news…
Compare the 2 school on Niche. You will find that SG scores higher than SP. SG has improved immensely since the days when most “adults” on this page attended high school. They receive tons of applications every year and unfortunately many kids are not able to attend. Even more have applied since the pandemic started. SG kids were able to attend in person last year vs mostly attending via Zoom like SP. That was worth every penny of tuition and than some. Great culture with amazing faculty and staff. SG has a 13:1 student-teacher ratio vs SP’s 19:1 - 1200 kids vs almost 2000 at SP. SATs are statistically even. Most telling thing on Niche is that 92% (36 responses) of SG kids agree that they like their school & feel happy there vs 65% (52 responses) of the kids at SP. And 100% (36 responses) of SG kids feel safe at their school vs 85% (52 responses) at SP.
These stats come from the same admin that fixed grades? Lmao
Can you ever get over not being admitted to SG? I know, I know, if only MDLax would have got your son in, things would be different...
LD may be offering to pay but he isn’t getting anyone in. Hence the St. John’s player being screwed and now at public school.
What sort of person convinces a rising senior to transfer? How is that is the kids best interest? You really are ate up about this . Did LD steal your girlfriend years ago? Or LJ steal your sons spot on team? To be this obsessed over some student in High School makes you look like you are in need of help to cope with life. If true the Academy will address it, if not LJ should be congratulated on going there. What will you all do with your free time once LJ has graduated from SG and has moved on to the NA? NA request film from incident yet?

Plus it sounds like it’s someone who is close to the situation and may even be considered a “friend”. There is some karma coming for whomever keeps trying to drag this along on this forum. I’m sure the proper authorities looked into it. Now seriously can we please move on.

No one is trying to ruin a kids future. Everyone knows that the son of someone with wealth will be just fine if he isn’t admitted to the Naval Academy.

Hearing the dorm is filling up fast on Lake Ave. Also, sounds like other MIAA schools will be promoting their boarding option more too.

Top 4 are not even really debatable - other than the order they will finish in. After that, LB, St. Mary’s, and Severn could all finish 5-8. Look out for MSJ as a dark horse this year. They are better than people think. Agree with the top 4. Lots of talent returns at each of those schools. We'll probably see some new faces at those schools like we usually do. In no particular order here is how I see the league. Tier 1 -------- Calvert Hall will go as far as their attack takes them. The return of #3 quarterbacking the offense could help them back to the championship game. The other pieces at attack are top notch as well. Defense is stout and goaltending is top notch. The Cardinals have capable middies, but no one that jumps off the page. If their face off game improves, CHC will be a team to be reckoned with. Boys' Latin returns enough talent to defend their title even without the kids in the dorms. Their graduating seniors were more impressive as a group than individually, so there is much work to be done to repeat. The attack will be top notch. Like other MIAA teams the goalie is great. The fogo that graduated was underrated from an athletic perspective, but the 2023 should step up nicely to fill that primary role. Defense will be the biggest question mark. The shorties are solid, and the midfield is capable of taking some pressure off the attack. McDonogh returns a ton. The defense will anchor this team despite the high-profile names on the offensive side of the ball. Their poles are probably the most athletic in the league and the goalie can shut any team down on any given day. Look for 2 freshmen to supplement the junior and sophomore on attack. This will be a formidable group. Despite losing 2 big offensive pieces on the midfield, the Eagles get one back from injury and will have one of the better starting midfields in the league. The fogo is underrated if nothing else. Will it be enough? Spalding is in the same position as BL. Enough back to make another run at the title if they can plug some holes. The offense loses 2 of its top scorers to graduation, the goalie graduates and arguably their better fogo. The midfield will be fantastic once again even without the transfer that never was. The attack is above average with two starters returning. Defensively, this team should be as good as the '21 version, but who steps up in cage is the big question mark. This is the year if Spalding is going to capture a title. This team is senior laden. Tier 2 -------- St. Mary's probably does the most with under the radar kids, but they lost a ton on the defensive side of the ball and what little scoring they had to graduation. They have some replacement pieces on the defensive end, but the question is who will score. Fogo and goalie position should be solid, and attack will be serviceable, midfield is a question mark. Loyola lost a ton of seniors who played significant minutes particularly on the offensive end of the field. They'll also need to fill a big holes in their defensive midfield and goalie positions. I can't see them being better than last year's team. Their 2022 class is thin on offensive talent, but they have some 2023s who can fill up the net. Defense will carry this team, they have some juniors who can score, but midfield will be thin on the offensive end. Don't look past Gilman. They lose their #1 attackman and an excellent pole, but they return a lot of young offensive talent and arguably the best goalie in the league. A big question mark is how will this team perform under the new coach and system. There are some solid junior middies who should bolster an unremarkable attack group. Severn will be a force to be reckoned with this spring. They return most of their key pieces. Like St. Mary's, they are solid at goalie and fogo. They have enough offensive talent to break into that top tier and make the playoffs. Defensively, this team may struggle, so possession will be important. Attack will be solid and the midfield adds a bit of scoring punch. Tier 3 -------- St. Paul's has the most talent of this tier. Good goalkeeping, good fogo and a few pieces here and there. Just not enough depth to carry this team very far. Younger players will need to step up to carry this team further than last year's team. John Carroll & Mt. St. Joe just don't have the depth or quality of players to get more than 2 or 3 wins at the most. Either team could pull an upset, but don't count on it.

St. Mary’s has plenty of kids nobody knows about, I can think of one in the senior class that isnt even committed yet, he will shine this year. That little school down in Annapolis gets things done. They will be competitors this year. Their goalie is a stud, face off guy is a stud. Defensively they will be sound as can be. Everybody says offensively they stink but you don’t need to score 20 goals a game. You just need a good all around team. That’s what St Marys does, as well as plenty of these schools in this league. It’s going to be an awesome year. Plenty of teams can make a run.

CH McD BL AS LB StM In that order CH and BL and AS will compete. McD will find a way to lose as they usually do . StM not enough to compete and LB is the usual trainwreck. StP has the Predators a year or two away from competing.

My oldest is in 7th grade on a top club team. In your experience, how much of the recruiting is due to your son's HS team vs his club team. We are on the fence on private vs public.

We are on the fence on private vs public. 4 years ago I would have said Club is all you need. These days, college coaches prefer HS tape against the best teams and players. If your kid is a ranked player, it won’t matter a whole lot. If not, go private. Not even a question.

You'll need to do an honest assessment or your son will spend a few years on the JV and/or the varsity bench at many MIAA schools. Look at LB's bloated roster as an example of talent that never sees the field.

Private without any doubt if you are looking to go D1. You can make it in Public, but it is so much harder. Look at MIAA commitments, many arent even that good besides playing in college rule MIAA league. But look how many are committed. And the majority will not see the field in D1.

1 - BL- lots returning and defense will get coached up. B st coaching staff in the MIAA 2 - CHC - return of attackman could help but could also hurt. Too many guys want and hold the ball too long. Very selfish team. 3.) McD - still strong starting line up. Bench will be very thin. new freshman not as good as advertised. 4 - Loyola . Despite their terrible head coach and staff, the heavy set coach is a donkey who was a FOGO in college because he couldn’t play in the field, they have talent which will coach themselves with the help of some fathers in the stands. Freshman attackman from last year will really needs to develop both physically an athletically. 5 - AS - still have talent off field BS , whether true or not, will be a distraction . 6 - Gilman - overall still a very young team. All their top offensive players are sophomores. Top goalie, defense will need to get better but will continue to get better through the year. Very unusual team composite…. Sophomore dominate team. No juniors play any significant roles —-a few decent seniors. New head coach needs to upgrade assistants… especially offensive.

MSM Mt St Joe JC Gilman's best offensive player (Woloson) is a junior, no?

MSM Mt St Joe JC BL - very good coaching staff but most returning players (outside of 1-2) are not elite CH - team to beat IMO. Attackman is best in MIAA. Will bring in a few more studs. McD - best overall returning talent. Need to get the monkey of it's back. Actually think freshmen coming in are far and away the best in the league. Loy - D will be very good. Has talent to contend but will ultimately fall short. AS - 2nd or 3rd best returning talent. Will contend and be a tough out. Gil - 2023 is the year.

Just wait - so many top ranked high school goalies sitting on the bench for 4 years in college. Remember Troutner at St. Marys didn't commit until after senior year and is now the best goalie in professional lacrosse.
