Not a fan at all of any of it but those that think Booster clubs or sponsers giving money for athletes has not been happening the since the begining of time are silly. Just likle the holdback issue in this sport and all other sports. The difference is some know how to play the game better than others. We have to remember AS is new the scene as far MIAA A lacrossse and without Hawks 22 team they would still be lost in their old ways of losing ! losing games, losing players, losing sponsors and boosters.Problem now is that once its exposed(sloppiness) it shines light to the other schools whom had a great thing going for decades in this league. Right or wrong its the same thing that happened with Hawks 22 team over the years and most of the Hawks teams at the high school level.Crabs and FCA are the same. Who plays the behind the scenes better? If you cant beat them, lets recruit them. All schools and clubs do it but some do it better than others. If building an all star team is the only way to be successful than have it. Many lessons learned for those not along for that ride.Good life lessons.Even more silly is SJC crying foul with half their roster not even paying for gas money to and from school. So, again some do it better and have been for decades and others (fairly new to the scene) (AS and SJC) are sloppy and expsose themselves for thinking they might have just an ounce of Integrity. Baltimore schools has had this advantage for ever, especially over the AA county MIAA schools. I heard if you are a starter at SJ Kevin Plank gives you an envelope after every game that covers your gas money for the year. So dense. Plank isn’t even involved when it comes to St. John’s lacrosse except for funds towards all athletic facilities. He gives a ton to the football program. St. John’s knows how to recruit athletes. Football, Basketball, Baseball, and now Lacrosse. They don’t have some assistant coach or some lacrosse Icon like Cottle running around offering families money and giving out empty promises on the sidelines. How do you not even have admissions approval for a player to transfer before you go telling him to leave his current school? Sloppy? I’d say more like ignorance or arrogance. Get on the same page before you ruin another players HS experience. Truth.

Why is no one talking about the Culver kid who just enrolled at Calvert Hall? How does the MIA allow BK to have a host family every year? Due to the fact that it is allowed, Well technically it isnt, but all teams do it...so problem solved Every year there is some team with recruit, transfer, overage player... No one cares as long as it isnt out of control.. CHC had to replace the Avon Old Farms hired gun that aged out after one year in the league. He’ll play his senior season up north. Only way you age out is double holdback in MIAA,,,Posters here say Sasquatch is more likely to play in the MIAA than the mystical Double holdback He is a double hold back and league called them out on it. That’s why he is no longer at CH

What happens if MSJ starts recruiting with this new coach? Would be nice to see the West side kids stay local. There’s plenty of kids on that side of town for MSJ to do well. Just depends if the admin backs em. glenelg, marriotts ridge, catonsville and a few others have had some stellar kids the past few years. They could be better if they can snag a few. Same up in Harford with JC. Heard they are getting some traction and have some good 25s coming in. But like all these programs, it takes time. I think Severn is in a tough spot. SM AS and lots of good publics nearby. Hard to pay more for what is really a small niche school.

Dave, Tom, and Spencer got out-coached by Farrell! I love it.
Got out-coached by Petro Is the kid going to Spalding or not?
Are we talking about the “tasty” player at sjc or someone else?
It is a kid who has been on a new club team every other year and now is playing for a different high school every other year.
The grass is always greener. He probably will do the same in college. Why do you care so much. It’s not your kid, your family or your problem. Stop caring
Easy there Dad. Guy s just making a statement , which to anyone with common sense indicates some issues. Not the dad. Unless you know them personally, you know nothing. Stop talking about it. I’m so over kids getting bashed on this forum. You don’t know the whole story. Stop acting like you do. Stop making assumptions.
I know all parties personally. Some really wretched coaches at Spalding and the Hawks told the kid exactly what he wanted to hear, and 100% lied to the parents. Shameless adults doing what is in their best interest and not the kids.
Sure you do. Have your son hit the Wall and make Spalding Varsity, maybe you wont be so bitter/
Spaulding dad always talking about hitting the wall. Like a kid that is out in his backyard hitting the wall has dreams of playing for Spaulding. Too funny. Such a rich lacrosse (athletic) tradition at Spaulding. 😂 Might have helped your son if he had hit the wall, then you wouldnt be so bitter about Spalding.

Spalding invited EVERYONE to come! Every semi talented player in AA,Balto and Southern Md counties. Fact is only the red solo cup no backbone folks jumped in. The 'Hit the Wall' fanatics. In 5 years everyone who declined that invite will have forgotten but those red solo cup folks will remember and will still be playing follow the leader with no integrity. Remember this too, half those invites went to SJC where they do nothing but win. If you cant beat them recruit them! Lots of great lessons for all those players and families that dont have blinders on.

Committed seniors making highlight clips. hammerhead bag. Why not? Good HS memories. If you win of course. What if your team underperforms all year, and sputters down the stretch, and loses badly in the quarterfinals?

Hawks are no more. Now owned by 3D. They got bought by 3Step Sports, which recently also bought 3d. They now own the following clubs that continue to operate under their names: 3D (National) Atlanta Storm (South) Thunder LB3 (South) Hawks (Mid-Atlantic) Kings Lacrosse (New England) Breakers (Mid-Atlantic) Aces Lacrosse (New England) Connecticut Wolves (New England) Storm Club Lacrosse (New England)

No matter. Great marketing

So they 3Step lied in their press release and IL reported it incorrectly? They acquired Hogan and the Hawks - they're probably referring to it as a "partnership" internally and retained Hogan and the coaches during an initial transition period (which isn't uncommon in M&A) so the parents are more comfortable.

MIAA discussion page posted message about Spalding having a pipeline to Salisbury. Good deal.
WCAC discussion page posted message about St. John’s having a pipeline to Syracuse. HUUUGE DIFFERENCE
But I’m sure some will say D3 is just at good as D1 or that D3 education is better.

After 3 years you can continue to run the club and get a salary or walk away. I was told be a really reliable source that they own every team in Colorado, so if a kid says "I'm going to play for this team" They are like "ok" cause we own that too. Way different in MD

I predict McDonogh vs Calvert Hall with McDonogh winning it all. Just too much talent.

Calvert Hall and Spalding and BL will be in the mix. Come down to who is peaking and injuries at end of season. All things being same, Spalding takes it finally.

Coaching needs to be better and it seems in big games the high ranked players don’t show. I think Calvert Hall bounces back and takes the title. Wouldn’t count out BL though.
