There's no year given in that article, just a month and a date, could have been born in any year.

I think ‘03 means 2003!? They can’t all be born on the 3rd??

Cmon pal. Did you really think every kid (except for one) was born on the third ? It has the month and the year. 🤦‍♂️

If It says June, ‘03, does that mean birth year?

They “lost” kids they cut and who left because they weren’t getting playing time. Add the kids from Igloo, S2S, Primetime and a few others from reclass. Oh yea, no more daddy coach. With the old team they beat Stealth and lost by 1 to Madlax. Beat 91MD and lost to Sweetlax(Grizzlies) in OT. This years team will be totally upgraded from last year’s.

The new head coach is one of the directors. The other two, now assistants, are not some PAL daddy coach. A college coach and all star college/MLL player are pretty good assistant coaches regardless if they have kids on the team. Def no more daddy ball.

This is bananas... if you feel you need to cheat to get your kid into college and you don't think anything is wrong with that, well maybe you're the problem. Anyway, good luck with that.

There’s nothing similar. The Grizzlies are a “B” team and Sweetlax is the elite team that has already manhandled both 91 Storm and 91 MD. None of those games were close. I knows it’s a forum, but try and share some information rooted in facts.

This is a joke I assume? The difference is Sweetlax is ranked 2nd and the Grizzlies are ranked 35th, and Sweetlax would beat them by 15+ goals. It’s no badge of honor to lose to the Grizzlies by 1. Too funny.

I spoke to the head coach of from last year and he says there is no change in coaching for this coming year. Explain yourself

As noted previously 5 out of the ten top 2022 players were born after Sept 1, 2003 which is the cutoff off for the WSYL and US lacrosse and for the majority of states including NE, Maryland, NJ, PA etc. clearly these 5 are not holdbacks. The only 2004 player is a January bday so not much difference from Sept-December 2003 players. The holdbacks dominating in 7th/8th grade will be left behind in HS

So basically they have the same exact coaching staff from the WSYL. That team got smacked around pretty good. At this point you have to accept the team for what it is. It was a dominant team when younger but the daddy ball ruined it. This caused many of their best players to leave. It’s still a good team which will beat all the b teams. In the end they will still get smacked around by top teams in the region.

So basically it’s not the same coaching staff. The 2022 head coach is taking over and they have 7 new kids from the WS team. No 2027’s that got run over. And 4/5 kids left/got cut. So it’s going to be a lot different team. I guess we will know the results when they play games.

What talent did they lose? Wasn't much there to begin with.

Age only matters at WSYL. Graduation year matters in the majority of states where lacrosse is played. A month and a day can be from any year when a child is held back a grade(s) to play lacrosse against smaller younger kids in the same graduation year.

I think that extra year is a huge advantage in a lot of developmental ways. Not just Lacrosse. It’s elitist though, as not everyone has the chance to have their kid “held back”. Public schools do not hold kids back even if they need to be held back for academics. (Really, the real reason too). So, again the people who can afford private schools take advantage of it.

I was told some states start the kids later for Kindergarten? Like MD at 5 to 6 years old? Or cut off for age is older? Is that true? Could explain some size differences in the grades?

Bullseye 🎯 A few good players left this year on top of the kids that left in the fall. They did cut a few. It's a shame when you think about it but life goes on.

New York has abnormally late cut-off dates for school and is one of the few places in the nation that allows 4 year olds in kindergarten. A child has to be 5 in order to start kindergarten in virtually every other state (I think Connecticut and NJ are the only other states that allow 4 year olds in kindergarten). If a child has a July birthday in these states and the parents hold him back he will be 6 when entering kindergarten. Most states have cut-off dates around Sept. 1.

Then congrats to top three ranked teams in the nation as they are all on age and they were the top World Series finish, Express, Tigers, Sweetlax. And Towermen also a great rank and finish and they are on age. Blackops also very good.Teams without holdbacks can win if coached and trained the right way like these teams.

Well it is my understanding or at least I was told that CoachC’s team is not an A team but a Double A team. The team below them is referred to as the B team. Some of the kids on the Double A are moving down to the B team, while some of the kids on the B team are moving to the C team. Coach W will only be coaching the B team. The C team will have it’s own coach staff this year. Hopefully this holds true and Coach W can get the B team playing good sound fundamental lacrosse.

How has this come to be your understanding? Maybe you should stop with conjecture and just wait to see what actually happens.

How is Express North at 2026. Kind of confusing given the number of teams they have and just trying to get an idea of the club.
Can their top team compete with the top 10-20 teams in the country or are they more on par with second tier clubs.

This past summer - the top team AA - too many kids, too many guest players. Very solid core of players lead by 1 outstanding player.

Also the use of 2025 express north players and 2025 other clubs players on the 2026 team. They cooked the books, and not just a little. A shame, because there are a couple of kids with real talent over there

The only 2004 player is a January bday so not much difference from Sept-December 2003 players. The holdbacks dominating in 7th/8th grade will be left behind in HS

Age only matters at WSYL. Graduation year matters in the majority of states where lacrosse is played. A month and a day can be from any year when a child is held back a grade(s) to play lacrosse against smaller younger kids in the same graduation year.

Then congrats to top three ranked teams in the nation as they are all on age and they were the top World Series finish, Express, Tigers, Sweetlax. And Towermen also a great rank and finish and they are on age. Blackops also very good.Teams without holdbacks can win if coached and trained the right way like these teams.

holdbacks everywhere this year.

Do not be jealous of the teams above.

Yes

Isn't the 2026 team coached by the Darien High School coach? He wins the Conn state championship every year. He is really cheating to win middle school summer games? Seems unlikely.
