There were like a million kids at FCA tryouts. I can only imagine they got better.
NL had nice nice numbers but I heard hardly none of the new kids made the team.
Hawks has two solid teams at this age so had the second highest tryout attendance behind FCA. I’m sure they got better.
IDK about Madlax.
Not sure if crabs added any new kids. Which isn’t good for them.
True Annapolis seems to have had some defections and may not be as good but who knows.
So I’d guess Hawks and FCA better. Madlax push? NL push?
True maybe slightly worse? Crabs won’t be a factor until the holdback train leaves the station in a year or 2. True lost ONE, was always planned for this year, he’s a 29, went to Hawks 29.

Crabs added a really good attackman. He was on that good hoco pink team that a lot of the kids went to fca. And few other new players. They should be better this year.

Sounds like a handful of players moving around in Annapolis and I know VLC is starting a 2028 team, but any changes on MadLax, Next Level, FCA, etc.? Didn’t know VLC was starting a 2028. Cool Beans. The more the merrier. Would they play elite? I know HoCo wants 8 teams in that division. I suppose 6 are locked in with hawks, Madlax, FCA, crabs, true annap and NL. Is BLC 7th team? Still need an 8th. There will likely be a logjam at AAA from how it appears also. First year team in elite seems optimistic, but good on them if they go for it. I just hope they've got some good crazy parents to join the fray here.

He will easily be the best player on the 29s. Kid is very good.
I thought the 28s were getting the 27 forgo, now it’s an out of state kid?
They didn’t even need one, the one they had was good. 27 Fogo is now 28 backup. Sorry pops. Hmm, was it worth the holdback? Not true. Another troll. Probably a TRUE parent whose teams all got worse You could just ask the Hawk dad keeping stats at tryouts who did the best. Yes keeping stats at tryouts…

He will strongly encourage it. He wins more games that way and covers up coaching deficiencies.

No changes to Madlax 28 Capital team. The B added a handful of kids and should be more competitive in the lower division.

Here’s a hot take - All of the elite teams probably have the same amount or at least close to the same of holdbacks right now.
And a Hotter take - the AAA teams too have holdbacks.
Hottest take - the terrible clubs have (some) holdbacks too.
It’s just how it is.

We’ve never heard any coach/director suggest holding back, it’s been just parents doing it. At crab apart it’s openly encouraged.

holdback-complainer-dad should start a new forum about changing the rules. The horse has been beaten to death here. I'd rather hear about team changes, fall tournies ppl are playing in, etc, etc.

Now that tryouts are done, teams should start sending their rosters and fall schedules shortly.
Should answer at least some of the questions floating around.

Wouldn’t be nice if we could get 91 Venom, 2way, maybe another squad to come down and play Hawks, Madlax, maybe FCA instead of a lame Hoganlax tourney?

And those that don’t hold back and commit to BL will get cut to make room for the BL boarders. This year he cut the rising freshman team down to 12 kids to make room.

Two Texans a coming so far to play for the 2025 team. Their arms will be twisted for the BL boarding school before long. BL admissions very complicit in this operation as well. Beware of the conflict of interest in the tangled web of playing for Crabs/attending the school/attending the boarding school. Your crabs experience will change in 7th & 8th grade. Play elsewhere so at least you don't have to deal with this distraction...
