Why don’t you tell us what QAnon says so we could weigh the pros and cons of this debate? Is that your answer to the questions? I realize that you know very little but can you at the very least simply tell us just one "truth" (related to lockdowns, masks, quarantines, medications, vaccines etc...) that has been disseminated to the public since the inception of the COVID 19 Virus. If you want to make this political …Here’s a truth that just came right out of the man DTs mouth himself today. (Unless there was a ventriloquist with him). He suggest you get vaccinated! Hmmm , and he did as well a long time ago. Also, the very republican governor of Alabama said the unvaccinated citizens of her state are “The Problem”. She just doesn’t get why the heck they wouldn’t get vaccinated. Duh We are still waiting on one single Truth.... apparently individuals who have been fully vaccinated are getting Covid and Mask Mandates are once again being proposed and or implemented even for the fully vaccinated. 🐑🐑🐑🐑 baaaa baaaa baaaa And “WE” are still waiting on the DAF unvaccinated people to get vaccinated. So, they don’t keep allowing this virus to mutate! Look at the level of fully vaccinated versus unvaccinated that are contracting deathly outcomes from the virus! Open your eyes and find your own “truths”. I’m sure you know people who have been effected by this virus! The spread will continue as long as the ignorance and denial does! So, here’s a few emojis for you, 🦠 🦠 🦠 🦠 I know people who were hospitalized after getting the vaccine. I also know people who contracted Covid after being fully vaccinated. Those are truths. You just keep drinking your “Q”oolaid. And, Play virus roulette with your life. Good luck with that

Not true Great coaching having the best players on the field was the key to the victory. What is the deal with two M&D 2022 players being added last minute to the American Select MD 2022 team roster? I’m sure those who paid $125 to tryout were thrilled about that one. Especially those girls who didn’t make a team (any region or year). Behind the back deals like this are what ruins the reputation of these “elite” events. I’m sure the fact that both of these players have political/family/friend connections to club and tournament owners, directors and college coaches had zero to do with it too? I’m sure any girl could be added to such a distinguished roster last minute? I was shocked when I saw this. Whomever was responsible should be banned from future involvement. I thought this event was supposed to be better than UA??!! I’m sure the fact that these two additions haven’t committed yet is reason they were added as a favor. I’m sure there are many other just as talented uncommitted 2022’s who would’ve loved the opportunity to play in a recruiting event like this. Shame on AS!

A shame the AS team didn’t have a coach who knew how to win a game. There were many girls on the UA team that didn’t see the the field in the championship and that’s ok. If you leave your best players out there, they will make mistakes and even get cards, but will find a way to win the game! All the girls were thrilled in the end to go home winners! Congratulations!

Coach thinks …They are not good enough to play in a championship game? That stinks , but they got medals? And a blurb for resume… great, I guess?

Both tournaments flexing their muscles claiming they had the best in the country. Sad it’s at the expense of the girls. These events did not have to be at the same time. The talent was 100% split, and it makes you wonder how it would have turned out if all the top players were at the same event.

Agreed, seemed like a very big contribution from a small group of players.. The only stats Dave’s elevate players earned were turn overs…he should be thanking the Smiths for lending him their TG team

they all played all weekend and got seen by every top coach in the country. They tightened the bench in the playoffs and won the whole thing. They all had smiles after the WIN. Congrats to Long Island Girls for bringing home Ship!!

The problem is that several girls on both UA and AS were really not very good players, and should not have been on an all-star type of team. They made the team due to politics. When it came to playing, they hurt the team because they could not play at a high level and took terrible slow shots into the goalie's stick, were too slow to pick up a ground ball, or constantly turned the ball over every time they touched it. What is baffling, is the amount of playing time some of these girls got over clearly better players. Do you really think that type of play was helping them get recruited?

(DUKE). UA selections were flawed once again. Plenty of amazing talent on LI. I would think any girl “selected” to represent at UA is of the caliber to play in a championship game. Truth being, “they” were showcasing a few, and playing politics.

AS was totally winnable, but rotating in girls who let up goals in a semi-final was a killer!

Must feel good bringing home the “ship” when you did Not have to play CT (Grizzlies) and top talent at AS. Watered down competition.

No patients. Plenty of time. Should not have shot. Could have found a good shot instead of right at goalie. Coach could have tightened bench to win for sure but played all.

While you're right the results of both tournaments would've been different if played on different weekends, you play the teams in front of you.. LI won, give credit where its due. Not sure why they felt the need to "tighten the bench" against a team they beat by 7 the day before.

Some kids got cut or made the teams based on politics some didn't. Some families have the time and money to do these events some don't. Some kids will get recruited by the schools they hope for, some won't. College coaches look at a body of work through out a year which can include HS games, club games, showcases, "elite teams" such as AS and UA , camps and other showcases. Anyone of these can be the one that gets you on the list to start the conversation. So lets all hope that the kids enjoy whatever path they and their families choose. The only reason this debate exists is FOMO. It will all work out no matter what path you choose. College coaches are smart people. They know what to look for and they don't care what venue they see it at as long as they see it. As we see there are still 22's committing as of today. It all works out, for some it's quick for some it takes some time.

Not a lot of passing going on in the beginning and lots of wide open players with opportunities to score were missed, lots of turnovers All good players all deserved to be there. They def could have won

Congratulations to all who participated in the Under Armour Senior All-America game . It is truly a shame that the powers that be started a competing event for the underclass players. I realize that there have been complaints about the selection process for the UA Underclass games but overall the event (underclass tournament & Senior games) has been great for the sport.

Not for nothing long island won the championship at UA. Dave did something right. All I hear is sour grapes over the one girl going to Duke who didn't make it. Get over it. Maybe she had a so so tryout and other girls played better that day it happens. So that tells me politics wasn't in it as much as everyone is making it out to be. Sorry folks I know alot of people don't like dave but he has a good heart and not out to hurt anyone. He is a very good coach. All these year Carol rose took her almost entire team so give me a break. Guess what Dave coached a championship team so kudos to him. I guess he picked the right girls!

Agreed! He did a great job, and my daughter played on AS. Hope he coaches gain next year! Will definitely be trying out!

You saw 1 game on TV where LI admittedly sat about 6 girls and played only their all stars. They eeked out a 2 goal win over a team they beat by 7 the day before ( in which every one played) Sounds like the philly team adjusted not the LI team. By the way LI has either played in or won the championship in The HL division 4 of last 5 years, so not much of a stretch to make it to the final game. The real shock was that Baltimore wasn’t there and didn’t get past philly..

Is it just me but is the same girls on all these teams. I know it's about exposure. Maybe the time has come to limit the number of appearances each girl can make to allow for some diversity, Before you all start with the participation trophies comments can we have a real discussion.

That’s exactly why you don’t have to do these events.

Barely eeeked a win against Philly! Grizzlies would have chewed that LI team up and spit them out!!

I’m sure his Elevate Team has plenty of open spots from girls who probably bolted due to lack of coaching for their teams. You don’t have to wait until next year. You can go there and play. Hit him up, sure he would give your daughter a tryout. Good luck !

Back in the day the empire games Were invite tryouts that were set up by high school Coaches with no financial stake. It was all expenses Paid. Stayed in dorms at Syracuse. Coach bus from Long Island all free. The best kids made it regardless Of ability to pay. Things are different now.

That’s not how it works. Who? Would limit it? There are obviously some girls who train and work harder than others. Do you limit the amount of medals you can win in an Olympics? No!!! You train hard and you can win as many medals as races you can win. That’s the way competition works. Now, opportunity/exposure is another topic. But, definitely limit is not the answer. There will always be a few athletes who stand out and are at everything. Prob. Means they worked/work hard to be doing the top events.

The scary thing is, it’s not just you who has that insane mindset. “Limit the number of appearances”, “diversity”? Honestly, what is wrong with you? You say that you would like to have a real discussion but it is obvious that you do not want to hear opinions from others if the opinions differ from yours, otherwise you would not say “before you all start with the participation trophies comments “. Next you will be asking the best college programs to stop offering spots to the best players. “Diversity” is the enemy of excellence!

I'll never get the parents of juniors and seniors obsessed with winning a championship or who beat whom. Is your daughter getting exposure to her target list of schools? Is she enjoying the game?
Some choose to tryout for UA and AS for opportunities for exposure to often a large population of coaches and should know politics will be involved. Open your eyes, jockeying for a better position I.e politics is just human nature and happens everywhere in life not just lax.
Find the right club for your daughter that fits her aspirations, challenges her, and affords her the opportunity to be seen. Successful college coaches don't care about your daughters team wins and loses they care about do they fill a need for their program, will she fit with the current team dynamics, can she meet academic standards. Do you really think they care about the score on the flip board? Successful programs are evaluating whether your daughter is a team player, continues to play at 100% when the game is clearly already decided and is she an impact player on the field.
