This is the 2026 thread NOT the 2022 thread. If you had been paying attention though you would realize that people were talking about M&D tryouts and 2021/22 rosters. The forever 2022 M&D AC and role model for all that is wrong with parent coaches is the AC for the 2026 M&D Red team. And his older daughter will be the HC so there is relevance here. Pay attention? Oh I have been paying attention. Listen up buttercup you are part of the problem, learn some manners to start. Second you need to keep your tone in check. Also I bet you talk to your daughter like she is toddler and then in return talks to her teammates like they are dirt. If you are this bitter about the red coach then get off this forum and go tell him and her in person. Stop trying to prove you know it all because you don’t. Sorry your daughter didn’t live up to your hype.

LBC will be fine with a new coach at the helm. Tryouts are tonight and Wednesday Cool, who is the new coach? No one was named but the current HC said he was stepping down to coach another LBC team

I heard MDU had some strong players return, that team always does well and is such a great club all around! I would definitely not say they are down!!! Thanks K and B for your input. If I recall you only had 25 tryout for your 26 team. Took players that have never played club lacrosse. You both need to reevaluate what you have going on because as an outsider it’s NOT working.

SPSG offers partial scholarships including some full scholarships to "talented" students in addition to financial aide to those in need. I could be wrong but doubt very much their recent Championship team was comprised of 100% full paying tuition student athletes.

Tough sell on the Shore. Hard to get girls to drive East, not so hard to go west. If all the girls over there stayed that team would be great.

I could be wrong but doubt very much their recent Championship team was comprised of 100% full paying tuition student athletes. Two players on the team received a named scholarship that is given to one girl per class when they enter in 9th grade but there are no athletic requirements to it. There is no other financial aid other than need based. I have no idea what everyone's financial situation is. I'm sure many families receive some sort of aid but it's not in the form of scholarship other than the one named award. No team is comprised of 100% full tuition students. All private schools give some form of need based aid.

Unless you are willing to drive to MD there is really nowhere for a 26 Pride girl to go. Other DMV clubs are pretty weak, but Pride needs to change otherwise the 2025 bloodbath could repeat.

26 Pride girls looked very impressive to end the season and looked like they enjoyed playing together. There is a void from NOVA to Howard county/B'more beltway so Pride needs to keep girls or that gap will get bigger.

If you do not win the 1 named scholarship (as mentioned non-athletic based) or one of the 2 scholarships (roughly 8K) it is 100% needs/financial based. They may come back and find some aid for your daughter but nowhere close to what the other schools can offer. Just my 2 cents.

My daughter has played against 26 Pride for several years, they have always been tough. Honestly kind of weird seeing girls go to and from there since they are so far away but I guess kids who live south of hoco could do either.

There is a void from NOVA to Howard county/B'more beltway so Pride needs to keep girls or that gap will get bigger. The challenge has been, and mention of the 25 Pride exodus related to, its very very new HS program. That “spooks” some going into HS years. Many have also raised more program wide concerns - not related to the 26 year - so while some seem happy, many are not. The program can also have a strong affiliation with one private HS which draws some to it, but may turn others off. What happens with the 26s going into HS will be interesting. There is definitely a geographic gap they are working to fill, but most girls from the team are VA based and certain practice locations can be deep into VA.

Between the newness of the Pride HS program and issues with the Director their top team 2025 is basically no more. Roughly 40-50% of the girls have gone to Capital or scattered to programs like MC Elite. That is why they withdrew from Mid Atlantic. Question is will the issues be resolved or will the 26 team follow suit?

HW girls heading south to Pride? Interesting. Practice for Pride is in Great Falls so it is not that far away from MD. Should be interesting how this parent deals with the director of Pride. She is pretty tough and does not appreciate parents complaining especially about PT.

She is pretty tough and does not appreciate parents complaining especially about PT. That move makes no sense at all. Why leave a better club in Heros for a much lesser club in Pride? Plus the Pride HS program is a disaster. Find it hard to believe 3 players from a top 5 club at the 26 level would move to a DMV club with no track record of HS recruiting.

And Pride 25s are going through something similar to Hero's - 25s have been decimated with most leaving for Capital because of issues with director.

Hero’s 2025 seeing a lot of departures? Seemed like a top team in spring but something seemed off given recent results.

I heard MDU had some strong players return, that team always does well and is such a great club all around! I would definitely not say they are down!!! Was not there, heard they had limited numbers and know they lost their number 1 player to Black. That’s a big loss, but opportunity for others to shine. 3 players to Black M and D and 3 players to M and D red.

They are saying the Pride 25 mess of girls leaving for Capital is a similar situation to what is happening with the Heros 26 teams.

Hero's Dads sure love to rock their pre-teen/teenage club lacrosse gear!

Since Tyranny caused the implosion of HW, MDB will improve. Their biggest competition will be Heros Green which will also get better with the additions from white and cutting some others.
MD red will never be as good as Heros white was even with so many HW defectors. Top Heros white middie scorers will be on green. Dominate attack went to Pride.
Heros white will drop outta top 10 ranking. Heros green, MD black and YJ Manning will battle for top 3.
HW defectors to nova will be back north in HS

3 or 4 Hero's White players dropped off the MandD Red roster today. Were 3 of them the ones that went to Pride? Or did they get offers from Skywalkers? Skywalkers would make more sense. Why drive to VA to a program that is not remotely as good as SW for player development and recruiting? Agree it will be a surprise if they stay with Pride long-term.

Its funny, every player ended up on the team or level they deserved in the end. We will see over the next year how they will play. Hopefully the craziness that has been posting will die down, but I'm affraid that people will find something else to complain about. Good luck to the girls this fall!

What’s interesting is that the high performing teams got further away. So there is less competition team to team. In some ways it makes sense: Practice with the best and win In other ways it doesn’t: Play less, less chance to lead. I have no real opinion but it is interesting.

Yes, it is interesting.
My take is have your daughter play for the best team she can get playing time on. If she's on the bench for more than half the game, drop down to the team just below. It seems somewhat common sense, but parents have egos and want to see their kids on the best team regardless. I get they'll play with better girls at practice, but getting game experience is very important.
