White lost in OT to Pride, the winner of the tourney. Went 4-1. There are the excuses we are all looking for.

I am shocked excuses about limited number of players, heat, or ref bad calls did not get posted. It’s a LOSS. The thought of Heros White being a top team is finished.

It is pretty well known White team is done in its current form, but there is no denying they are a top 4 team with Green, Pride and YJ. They all play exciting good lacrosse games to watch and girls respect each other more than most parents realize. Saw girls consoling other teams yesterday after loses. Girls left it all on 100 degree turf yesterday and they all appreciated the competition. Teams will look different next year but competition will live on.

Question regarding the recent Junior National Championships this past week. I noticed many of the bigger clubs (M&D for example) were not there. There was an age requirement which stated players needed to be born after 9/1 to be eligible to play with their club team. Players born prior to 9/1 would have to play with their older club team if this makes sense. It begs the question, were some teams not entered because their rosters contained too many girls born prior to 9/1. I realize this gets into "reclassification" territory, but one of the parents brought this up at the tournament and I thought it was interesting.

This tournament is normally at the end of July after most teams are done for the summer. And it was mid-week this year, not opportune for families. If you want to talk age, I recommend going to the north east thread. This topic has been exhausted for years.

M&D and SW haven't played in that tournament in a long time. It's in mid july. It used to be weeks after the typical club tournaments ended. There's typically far less competition there than a normal weekend tournament. M&D and SW would have no issue entering an on age team at any of those levels. The holdback myth constantly floated by LI parents/coaches isn't a real thing with girls. Sure there are a few here or there that may have July or August birthdays, but girls aren't repeating grades for athletic purposes the way the boys at MIAA schools do.

So how many times do the LIYJ need to beat HG to move into the top spot of the US club lax rankings? Seems a little weird they beat them in the last two tournaments but are still ranked lower.

My daughter’s M&D team has more holdbacks than my son’s team. They would not have been able to participate without having to leave players home.

People, get a grip! It's 8th grade girls lacrosse. Reading this garbage is hilarious. Good luck to all the girls as they will end up on the teams that they belong on in the end.

Sloppy seconds because a child hasn’t peaked at 12/13? You must be one of the many green parents who hasn’t left the area or achieved much and is living through a child because your life is pathetic.

M&D tryouts saw green players last night. It will be Red or back to Heros for them based on groupings during the tryout.

Next year the same thing will happen and movement will happen again. However it’s great to see everyone trying out for different clubs.

Clearly a comment by someone scared of their daughters position Not sure what your issue is but there were girls from HG at M&D tryouts that were only offered spots on red. Half the M&D team will be new. Girls from all over. MG had the draw they were hoping for. 85 girls at tryouts.

I have always thought she was an excellent goalie and she performed really well. I am hoping she makes Black and gives the White goalie some competition. Because those two girls together will be a great duo.

Look at the amount of games played last year. Heroes had 44 games… where YJ Manning had maybe 12? Covid played a big role but those rankings will not budge much. The top 5, are a solid top 5.

In most other sports and leagues when the number 2 team regularly beats the number 1 team they become the number 1 team. Guess that doesn’t apply here.

The rankings are formula based and not just about 2 teams going head-to-head. What about the teams beating YJ? Like Hero's White and Pride? That's why on the 25s YJ Spallina isn't even ranked because they have only played a few games in 2 years.

Usually caused by unhappy parents trying to get more recognition for their daughter.

Trust me the girls that tried out would prefer to not be sitting around waiting that long. And they weren't offered spots mid tournament. Emails went out before the tournament started.

Each girl one by one was called over and told either black or red. So no email all done face to face. Great day for some, sad day for others.

Yes it's true that heros green players were offered spots on M&D Red and not Black. There were a lot of talented girls there. M&D Red will be competitive next year. TE wouldn't be coaching them if they wouldn't be

No one should ever take m and d red over Skywalkers blue. Anyone who believes that is insane . SW maybe won’t be that strong now but they will catch up. It’s inevitable. So the Edmonsons can keep their red team ... when it’s all said and done it’s still not top team.

They will make you believe that you have a chance so you will continue to pay the annual fees and eventually you will realize you will never move to black but by than you will not have any options at any other club too. You will have missed the window to switch clubs. Very few Red players get recruited to play in college. You are better off switching clubs and playing on an A team. And believe me, LE and TE will not make a difference. TE will not know how to coach when he isn’t running all plays through #6!

Parents failed to do so and word got out that invites had gone out. What else were they supposed to do? No playoffs now anyway. Part of club lacrosse. Everyone knew there were major changes coming to M&D 2026. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
