91venom would get smoked by the Hawks or Madlax in 2028. Different level. The hawks or madlax teams you see thrashing everyone won’t be able to play in WSYL. So the question is could the on age kids on those two beat 91 venom or 2way or any of the on age teams for that matter? Serious question…. What do the holdback crybabies do when high school comes? Complain that their freshmen don’t make varsity is my guess. Ironic or hypocritical. Maybe both. No they deal with it..unlike you holdback apologists whose son couldn't compete on age so you decided to play him down like a .... Well done.

Sure they are, but you are here on a 6th grade youth lacrosse forum spouting off about holdbacks. Hilarious. Can you holdback apologists at least attempt to be a little honest. People like you dont think playing down is wrong, yet you want to bad mouth players and parents that think Youth lacrosse should have some parameters of fairness with age.

So if your kids are gone, why are you on a 28 message board? Kids play down because they can’t play on age or they aren’t smart enough. Pick one!

WSYL has nothing to do with 2028. On age have another 2 years before that matters …

I thought the conversation had to do with FCA 2028 having a major break up, but somehow the 2027s got involved

Madlax just dominated Platinum Cup, albeit some middle tier teams. A decent Nationals 2028 team (with Hawks and NL players on roster) and a decent True MD team. Sweetlax Upstate had a tough time...but they will improve, some great athletes

Losing the championship games of their first two tournaments (Naptown, Platinum Cup) to the two best 2028 teams in the country (Hawks and Madlax) is going to go a long way towards helping them recruit the best non-hot bed kids.

More kids on our team turned down Nationals 2028 invite than accepted. Those who did have reported so-so experience and that the talent level on the team is uneven. Top players around here already have busy club schedules and tend to be committed to other sports too. The extra weekday tournaments are fun for kids, but can be a bit much. Seems like a nice option for kids who don't play for top teams already or want extra reps and chance to play with new kids. But unless Nationals offer a more attractive product, hard to see them becoming dominant.

But unless Nationals offer a more attractive product, hard to see them becoming dominant. I agree with you. It seems to be a program that is designed better for kids who aren't from around here. But they ran off some success in the past two weeks on the backs of local kids from NL, FCA, and True and a strong goalie from Texas. And it's hard to argue with the quality of product that Nationals is putting on the field at 2027. Our MD kids will always compete with them, but my point was simply that their results at Naptown and Platinum Cup are going to make it a lot easier for them to recruit. Especially combined with their trainings and tryouts moving back to college facilities in the fall.

What is going to be interesting is the makeup of HoCo at this age group after tryouts. If a new club like predators or True Dundalk/Essex can come in and play at a high level, that’s great. At 2028 it looks like there is a solid group with about 30 teams across 20 orgs. It would be great to see Blue Claws, Kelly post, cannons, Forrest hill or Team Md get a few pieces and play elite. Those clubs all some very good players and could make the jump. Uphill battle for new club (not a rebrand) since they would need a core from an existing team.
