Hey did anyone see Team 91 2026's at the NAL this weekend? Looks like they missed a really good tournament and a chance to preview the WSYL competition! Must have been tearing up some local B Tournament that they were running...Oh well....

Yes, that happens in sports and the team can only get competitive games from teams not on LI. Doesn’t mean they are a super team, it means the other LI clubs are likely doing a sub par job developing this age at there club.

I thought they looked pretty good. Clearly not up to par with some of the better teams at the tournament but still solid. If you were on the parent sideline and did not know they were form Colorado you would have thought it was a Long Island based team.

We will see more truth at WSYL.

Towermen will be ranked close to top 10 when the rankings update. Proved some haters wrong.

I am sure that it doesnt help that they dont play much competition out West and then come play the battle tested teams from the East and North.

Or it means that the other teams develop kids and the Express Marketing machine takes the developed players every year from other teams. that's really more how it goes. lets be honest.

Lol, “takes” not really. People leave teams based on winning. So takes is not accurate. How about other clubs work to retain.

7.Primetime
8. Igloo

Yes, top two for sure and after that it's essentially ties:
3/4 tie (I think Towerman would have beaten Tigers)
5/6 tie (Sweetlax for sure over Madlax)
7/8 tie (probably say Igloo at 7 and Primetime at 8 for this weekend)

Towermen played well and looked good but it’s unlikely that’s the team heading to the WS. Since they didn’t qualify originally, I suspect there are several holdbacks on that team that will not be at the WS. If that’s the team their taking, then they’ll be highly competitive. Anything can happen on any given day… Igloos also took the hawks to OT and they were terrible. Sweetlax destroyed them in a meaningless consolation game.

Most teams at NAL probably had a few hold backs who aren’t going to WSYL, no?

It’s foolish to think that there weren’t holdbacks at the NAL but it doesn’t matter since that’s what will happen all summer. Only WS will be on age and that will crown the best on age team… period. Good luck to all the participants.

We spoke to other parents. They admit the kids are on grade but older because of age cut offs. Never going to change until US Lacrosse goes to an on age format.

I detest the holdback talk on here, but don't the majority of states use Sept 1, or Oct 1 while NY uses Dec 1? What's the big deal? A true holdback is one thing, but are you complaining about September and October babies ???

Honestly, the majority of holdbacks are not September and/October babies that just miss the cutoff. Either way, the rules allow it and the kids have to play regardless. There can be huge differences in physical maturity at this level, but it will eventually even out. The kids gotta keep working and the most skilled players will win out in the long run. It's also why the interest in the WS is typically high because it tests the kids vs. their "on age" peers. It may only be 1 tournament, but it's an event that clearly separates the best 13U team from everyone else.

Schedules changed already

You must not understand competitive sports. Some people like to know who the best teams are or maybe how well their sons team is doing in relation to the rest of the pack.

Let the shenanigans begin! The tournament is tainted from the top down. Not a difficult process creating the brackets. It’s very simple. Top down based on rankings. Guessing brackets will change several more times before the event. The whining and jockeying for position has started! Stay tuned!

I know i played college soccer and my son is 2026 Lax player . Give 2/3 years and it will be totally different. Most kids haven’t it puberty yet or start working out with weights . Relax on the rankings and enjoy the time now . No one giving $5k scholarships yet .

Being as objective as possible:
1. Hawks
2. Express
3. Towerman/Tigers
5. Sweetlax/Madlax
7. All the teams that went 2-1 in pool play: Primetime, Igloo, Jersey Express, Crabs, PA Roughriders

It remains to be seen if the Towermen that played at the NAL, are the same team that shows up at the WS. Remember, they didn’t actually qualify but got an invite after another team dropped out. It’s quite possible they'll have players missing from this past weekend. Strong lineup all across the board.

What happened to BBL? They used to be a top 2026 team a few years ago, no?

Many teams at WS will be missing some players from NAL. Tigers I know for sure have a couple players they brought on recently and play on and off for them but are needed at WS.

I like how the parents “admit” the kid’s ages. Just stop. It’s not a trial. It’s a game. Who starts a friendly conversation asking if players are over age? Sounds like B S. Because it is.

A number of the stronger players appear to be now playing for Towermen.

Towerman roster already locked in for WS. New players are holdbacks.
