Not implying that. The opposite. You can see they don’t recruit because they only have 10 players that play for them. Watched Lawrenceville game. Coach does not use bench at all. Must be a weak bench. This is why Radnor will beat them.

What happened to Penn Charter this year? Terrible record. NC commit, Duke committ, Lehigh Committ, Villanova committ. Joey Sankey coaching. You would think they would be something special.

Covid destroyed their season this year. Barely practiced to start the season and then missed a bunch of games.

I don't think that's an uncommon story this year. Plenty of other teams have suffered the same COVID quarantine fate.

Of course they recruit, just not as aggressively or with the financial backing of other schools. Even public schools recruit as they attempt to keep players away from the privates/Catholics. There is nothing wrong with recruiting. Anyone who thinks there's a single coach who doesn't recruit either doesn't have a kid playing or is just trying to stir the pot.

Good point....I should clarify. They don't recruit like the Inter Ac or many of the Prep schools. In Lasalle's case, they are most likely competing with other Archdiocesan Catholic schools.

I agree, this is a fair assessment. I assume the OP didn't mean they don't recruit at all, but good clarification that LaSalle is not recruiting at the Inter Ac level, Prep school or even some of the other area private/Catholic schools.

Do some schools not recruit or they just can’t recruit well? The financial backing is overblown as 75% of lax families think the poverty level is $200k.

Watch a close Malvern game tell me how many kids they play? 12 max, not counting the fogo's since they don't have anyone that is really dominate.

Didn’t see Lawrenceville game, but my kid played against them in a really lopsided game. They killed us. No subs till last two minutes. Totally ridiculous. Saw lots of kids on their side line not get in the game. Their starters scoring lots of goals and celebrating unnecessarily against a young inexperienced team. Lots of inflated egos.

Lasalle doesn’t have many close games. Look at phillylacrosse.com scoreboard. They blow out all other catholic schools. Malvern plays many more than 12 kids when they are blowing teams out. That is the big difference.

Agree and you said it best "a close malvern game" If games are blowouts in the 4th, the bench should play.

TOPIC CHANGE:

What HS team surprised you the most?

It may seem obvious but I did not realize how good Kennett is.....very impressive. Rustin is a young team that did very well.

Allentown Central Catholic looks like a strong contender for the AA state championship.

Perk Valley and Pennsbury put together nice years as well.

Rustin has a few young decent players, but a senior d1 attackman and good senior fogo really help. If they stay in 2a they will be able to compete but they're not a great 3a team in the future 2 years. Kennet is really good this year but that run ends after this year. ACC is going to win the 2a championship I believe with a fight from district 1 and some decent teams in district 7 and 3. The PAC overall is pretty weak making Perk look good and Pennsbury did alright for their standards but cannot compete amongst top teams.

Kennett is loaded would be good to see them unseat the Central League teams and even better LaSalle...
How is Rustin only 2A when similar schools East/Henderson are not?

I had the same question...in short, it is based on the enrollment for your boys in grade 10,11,12. From what I recall....Rustin is just under the AAA qualifications by a few students so they fell into the AA this year. They could be back to AAA next year depending on their enrollment.

in 2019 they had almost 1300 students to not have 500 boys 2 years later seems almost impossible.

I believe the 500 TOTAL is for the sophomore, Junior, and senior classes only. Like I said.....they are so close to 500 that next year could push them into AAA.

Looks like on any given day, any one of handful of teams could win it all - Springfield, Radnor, Kennett, Garnet Valley, Conestoga, etc.....

Springfield clearly had superior coaching. Radnor couldn’t adapt.

Not as much as these Wiss parents and coaches pay to pimp out their players on social media with viral videos and such.

Right....you can't google what La Salle's tuition is? BOTC is your source for tuition questions? People know where you are going with that.....you are trying to take a shot at parents and students of LaSalle in a very immature way.

I think what the guy said was great, but you probably think its fair that LaSalle plays in the public league.

Lasalle plays in the Philadelphia Catholic league. Are you referring to the fact that they play in the PIAA tournament? They do not offer athletic scholarships to players like the Inter Ac. People pay to go to their school....do you find that to be some sort of advantage?

Your joking right.....like the inter-ac they give merit-based academic money and need based as well. And oh yeah they have no boundaries like the other PIAA schools.

I'm not trying to be dismissive of your thought, but to receive merit based or need based funds, you need to fall under very specific parameters....none of which include athletic prowess. I am certain you do not understand the process.

I think players are attracted to Lasalle’s success. Particularly Catholic athletes. I’m not arguing that….but you are absolutely wrong about monetary handouts for strictly athletic ability. If anyone is hurt by this, it is the area Catholic schools….not the public schools.

No joke whatsoever at LSCH OR Inter-Ac. You must be a dad who never heard a coach or admissions office say “don’t let the sticker price fool ya.” And yeah, some schools’ first offer that comes along with the admissions letter clarifies that this tuition assistance does not have anything to do with Athletics, or the Arts, etc. That’s when the negotiations begin, and the sports bumps come into play. The best I heard it described was like this: Financial Aid is need based but merit distributed.
