Which Tigers and Express teams showed up - WSYL teams or U14 teams that compete in 7th grade?

Lost 2 games by a combined 3 goals, to the supposed 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 or whatever, missing our best middie and our stud attackman. With 3 practices under our belts. I see all that WSYL practices, year round practices and 5 or 6 tourneys already played, are paying off. See you in a couple of weekends.

How many holdbacks are on your team?

Likely story. Of course your best players weren't there

What tournament are they in next?

Their best players won’t be down from the 2025’s until the next tournament. No one’s fault, but your own that you’ve only had three practices. Everyone else has been playing in some capacity since the fall.. if your 2026 team is that good, why are you not attending the World Series? Oh! I forgot, we can’t field a team of age! Stop the excuses and get over yourselves. No one cares!

Wonder why VLC and Team United were swapped? Would be nice to get a schedule soon for the tournament 5 days away.

Look at their schedule. Somehow they have the highest strength of schedule. The only ranked team they have played is ranked 40th, but somehow they are still #1? Look at Express, Hawks, Tigers, Sweetlax, even Express North and their schedules are full of games vs one another and lots of other top 20 teams.

I love the guy in the basement rankings as much as the next guy but come on. Pretty simple, the best teams will play each other and then a real ranking will become obvious. I’m sure this team is amazing but the real test will be this weekend in a loaded NAL field. Whoever wins this weekend will be the 2026 #1.

True Blue looked strong at LILJ Spring Madness. They overcame FLG trying to raid their team since they did not enough players. FLG had to recruit Lindenhurst players so they could field a roster. Smart players will stay at True Blue.

I agree and surprised to see them doing so well. They will beat the B teams but there definitely not competing with A teams yet.

If it is like myhockeyrankings.com. you need a minimum of games, like 5, before you even show up on the list. On top of that, the list refreshes once a week, on Saturdays. So new games won't be reflected in the rankings until that weekly update. Games this past weekend, that show up, don't count until the whole thing is recalculated. 3d NE Red is the current #1 based on the data submitted. But there is a loss on their schedule that will show up in the rankings on Saturday. Whether it is enough to drop them, don't know. These ratings will change a lot initially then become more stable as more games are added into the alogrithm. Myhockeyrankings.com is the gold standard in youth and high school hockey. It is truly objective and is purely data driven. That is why colleges use data driven systems to determine rankings, like RPI, instead of subjective opinions of "so-called experts". If you don't like the results, win more games, with better differentials. Simple.

I am okay with the data drive approach but the guy running the rankings should have some basic math and data skills which, based on what I can tell, he is lacking. Maybe the MyhockeyRanking should take this over.

The us club lax methodology definitely doesn’t follow MyHockeyRankings approach. If you dig into 3d data there are random teams in there that have played two games that have a rating that would put them into the top 10. US Club Lax should post how they determine their rankings as well responses to FAQs, Otherwise this list will always lack credibility and transparency.

Myhockeyrankings is behind the new US Club lax rankings system. It is the same. They both use AGD and Sched. I have been told by US Club Lax that they partnered with the same folks running the hockey rankings site. The key to it all is that all the scores need to go in. They have to be approved and verified or else the system is useless. Submit your scores, evidence of game and it gets entered. Sometimes, as with myhockeyrankings, they have volunteers for regions or leagues, that comb leagues sites and tourney machine for games and scores. So they get entered on their own. But the scores need to be submitted. It is also for a seaon, ay September to August, then it resets. The old data gets tossed, along with all the old rankings and it starts fresh the next season with everyone 0-0-0.

It's exactly like it. Teams need 5 games to even be included. Maybe it's more for lacrosse. If a team loses by 10 to the "number 1 team", the most goal differential is 7. Losing to a number 1 team boosts your strength of schedule and even if you lose by "7 goals" that helps your ranking. Now if the same team loses to the number 100 team or beat the number 50 team by 1, then it will negatively affect their ranking. Then i subsequent weeks, everything that every opponent of yours that you played, does, affects your ranking. It is all intertwined. But scores need to go in. There will be a lot more scores going in now that summer tourney season has started.

And it's a heck of a lot better than some subjective ranking or biased one (NLF rankings). There is no subjective input. It is all objective. But scores need to be recorded. That is a fact. Another fact is that although there may be no perfect system, this is the best approach. In the end, this shouldn't determine anything and you crown championships on the field. But this will help allow tourneys to determine match ups, levels of competition, etc. And maybe some bragging rights but nothing more.

I think all scores and game results have been loaded in. Clearly the ranking has an error in how the calculations were performed. Looking at the underlying games it is not possible that 3D is ranked 1.

OK, then how does this explain the current #1? Win over #40, the rest of the wins over non ranked teams.

If US Club Lacrosse rank system actually worked, after the best national tournaments this weekend the NLF the #1 team in nation Express before the new ranks should still also be the #1 team in the nation after an overtime win against the #2 ranked Tigers.& detest to say it but 91 Long Island and Laxachusetts with close losses to #1 and #2 should be ranked top 10 if not top 5. Maybe ice hockey system does not work in lacrosse unless they add ice to lacrosse games?

Laxachusetts will be ranked 7 or 8 on Saturday when the system updates. Also, you can play crappy teams and beat them by 10 but it will hurt your ranking. It based on a mathematical formula. Not "2 beat 1 so 2 should be 1"

The MyHockeyRankings uses a stochastic model that runs a thousand path algorithm and it puts out pretty good results. You can use the rating information to see how many goals a team would beat other team by. I have found it pretty accurate. For example a team with a 90 rating playing a team with a 88 rating you would expect the 90 team to win by two goals. If 90 team won by 3 goals then most likely the team’s rating would improve slightly. As the season goes on the fluctuations in rankings minimizes since new games have have less and less impact on the overall rankings/ average. The MyHockeyRanking runs a new calc every week, his data is not always pristine but I think there is any army of volunteers who enter data across country and keep it up to date. Hockey teams play more games than Lacrosse (40-60 games) in a season which makes for better input data. MyHockeyRatings also publishes the calculations for the last ten games for transparency purposes. Nobody questions his methodology. As for the US Club Lax it is not clear what he is doing.

We'll see what happens this Saturday...it could play out just like that where LI Express is the new #1. And 3d could drop. You're right...that's how it works.

3D as number one, it was fun while it lasted US Club Lacrosse,,,,,poof

Sounds like the NLF Rankings have more analysis and much more reliable.

MyHockeyRatings also publishes the calculations for the last ten games for transparency purposes. Nobody questions his methodology. As for the US Club Lax it is not clear what he is doing.

This...exactly. This is what the lax ratings will be. They have brought on the same folks that put together the back end of myhockeyrankings.com to do the same for USCL.com. Which is why you see the similarity with "rating", "AGD", "Strength of Schedule", and updating once weekly.

3d NE will be in MD 6/18-20 for nationals. We'll see who's laughing then.

You do realize it is "NLF" rankings..so obviously no bias there. Also, those "rankings" haven't moved in 3 weeks. Also, look at their top 10 or 20...see which you think makes more sense. They have Team 91 at #4...lol. Huh? BBL at #6 at 8-8? 3d NE red at #20 even though they beat #9 Laxachusetts 3 times? LI Express at #5? Oh yeah...much more analysis and more reliable...SMH

They had a few boys graduate HS and move on the college.

True Blue has become a strong program despite FLG raiding its roster. FLG also needed an Outlaw player to win the first day and a load of Lindenhurst players.

You seem to know a lot about the statistics used. How is Strength of Schedule used by US Club Lacrosse? In hockey all teams play on ice, some indoors and maybe some outdoors. In lacrosse, teams play on artificial turf outdoors, grass, and indoor facilities. Some grass fields are meticulously manicured lawns, some are just open fields that may or may not have been mowed lately. How does US Lacrosse account for where the games are played? Or do they just account for who the game was played against?
