Makes no sense for one game to have to do it but others in same tournament not have to do it.

everyone is SO EXCITED to be back on the fields... where were you for the past 12 months? Everyone else has been doing tons of play-days and tournaments.

It makes no sense why all of the tournaments wouldn’t be stand up neutral grip. Everything is going that way, no point delaying.

Most states have already gone SNG in HS. Including MD, PA, NJ, not sure why you would want to delay the inevitable.

By your logic the HS game should change because the colleges are already SNG. Keep practicing knee down moto though and see how that works out for you when you see teams who only go SNG for an extra year.

If they weee Chan if the faceoff rule everyone would have done it and it would have been explained in the rules. Your reaching that's a big rule I think all clubs would have know about it and all refs would have done it if it was a rule.

daddy was calling the opponents fogo all sorts of names and cursing and i guess he has a history with the ref because he came right over and tossed the donk off the sideline and daddy had to stand alone in the parking lot and watch from there

Got it, yelling at opposing (or any) player is like sideline parent conduct rule #1.

Out of curiosity, what rule book would it be if it were not NCAA? Honestly I don’t really care, but the rules seem like something we should all be able to agree on. The entire mid Atlantic and all of college is on the same page and again it’s inevitable so why hold out?

I agree with you. It’s confusing for both the players and parents.
I guess it’s safe to assume that each tournament and each field is different. Obviously college is all standing neutral grip, what is happening at the HS level?

Tournaments this spring and summer especially ones south of LI will be probably be standing neutral grip.

In MD and DE, I haven't seen a knee down since the fall and even then it was 5/50. A couple kids tried it in early spring and were told to get up. HS is SNG. Don't know about other states, we haven't left MD/DE since last year. Hopefully that will end soon, kind of tired of playing the same teams over and over. LI Express came down and played early in the spring, good on them.

Wonderful we got opinions on sng but that doesn't explain why it was only enforced in one game in the entire tournament!!! And no they are not enforcing it for tournaments at this age.

Believe the conversation was about the abusive dad. The rule should have been consistent, yes, but had absolutely 0 bearing in that game or any other.

To say it has 0 bearing on the game you know in your heart that not true but it over with so let focus on the positive .

SNG should be an option not a requirement! The inconsistency of rules is very wrong. Seen it out of ny too! If not forced in HS why should 11yos be restricted. See the legacy dad’s frustration as it changes the game albeit it was a very poor way to handle it. I believe he knew his kid beats Venom FO head to head but not with SNG….should have pulled the team if the rules were not being followed.

Those 2 kids have played against each other before (very recent in fact), someone should get their facts straight-they are both good. Why don't we all just let them compete, be friends and make each other better for the next 7 years

Then he should be able to adjust to SNG. FACT is all these club level kids train with FO specialist, if he or anyone isn’t prepared for SNG then they’re setting themselves up to fail.

Any attempt to see the legacy dad point of view is pathetic. He not only embarrassed himself he embarrassed his son, his family and the entire legacy program. I can’t imagine Mr Zummo and his coaching staff are very pleased with all the negative attention.

Why not pull them from the field?! There are tourneys in LI every weekend. While I don’t agree with storming the field or speaking ill to another persons kid, parents have right to pull their kid and coach’s have the right to pull their team if treated unfairly! You should be embarrassed for not putting your kid/team’s best interest first!
Both kids are very talented and will continue to face each other but until the notIntelligent rule trickles down let the best team use their best strategy!
