Interesting b/c there have only been 3 deaths of kids aged 0-9 in the entire State of Maryland in over a year yet you claim three happened in one month in your ICU. Right. Maybe you should do a little research before you make something up.

Two Freshman at a single local high school have committed suicide as a direct result of school closure.

There is no "solution" just tradeoffs.

Spal"ding"ers. That's how they get away with scrimmaging and practicing before the MIAA allows. It's not Spalding, it's the Dingers.

They are also Scrimmage Champs. 😂

Another game of mediocre play. MIAA is down this year. Has to be Covid.

Just watched 10 minutes of the Spalding/Gilman game. What happened to Gilman as a program? They look like a prep school JV team. Kind of embarassing.

Been saying it for the over a week. The league is not very good this year. Hard to watch. Like watching public schools play.

I watched some of this game as well. Kudos to the play by play guy on the stream, but who is the stunad providing commentary on the PA system instead of just announcing goals and penalties, etc.? Talk about embarrassment.

Gilman's problem is lack of any vision for the future and no real program for player development. The schools main interest now is being 'Woke' and following all 'social justice' guidelines outlined by whatever MSNBC, CNN etc. are told to report to the masses.

Anyone know what happened at the Loyola/McD game today? Did a player get injured?

I was there. Loyola pole took a shot in the chest. Had to be revived by some terrific trainers (?) but it took a while for CPR to work. It was the worst thing I have ever seen. Mad respect to the trainers as there was no ambulance for at least 10 minutes. And so rough on the kids and coaches.

Sounds awful, hope he’s ok. I can’t imagine what the parents were going through.

Somehow I find it hard to believe that the person claiming this has seen 1/3 in their hospital. and certainly not all at once, the data for under 30 is pretty static. 0-9 = 3 10-19 = 6.

Throwing numbers around makes people duck, until you actually look at the data and realize it's probably not legit.

Hopefully after today’s crazy events where a kid almost died during MIAA competition, folks on this blog will think twice about the hateful things they say.. Prayers for the family and the player...

Someone on the MIAA FB group reported the kid has already started asking when he will be able to play again. smile

After the almost tragedy at the Loyola game, parents should be aware of the new NOCSAE ND200 standard for lacrosse chest protectors. That standard is already mandatory for goalies, but will apply to all players beginning in 2022.

But really there is no reason to wait. Newer pads will meet that standard which was specifically designed to prevent a commotio cordis injury.

The USL information on the standard is here: https://www.uslacrosse.org/safety/equipment/chest-protector-faq

At this point, even winning an A Conference Championship would be a disappointment for these boys and their dads. They deserve more. I am sure the Lids team + LSG can come up with something more...

Doubling Down is always good. Maybe a MIAA Championship and another Championship at the big HS event in Summer. Can Team Lids and company rest then ? or do suggest something even bigger? Play the PLL or NCAA D1 Champion in a grudge match ?

If I am not mistaken both MSJ and St. Paul's are currently shut down from Covid.

Calvert Hall beats MCD by 3 goals. SM poked the bear and woke him up. MCD has been flying high and will be brought down to earth. The Cardinals will dominate FOs, time of possession and will score 12+ goals. Look for the Cards to run the table through the regular season and playoffs.

SM beats SP by 2, Spalding wins by 3, LB beats JC by 5.

He said dominate FOs; could be the weakest group that CH has ever had. The Hall loses 2+ more games this year; count on it!

Well, it was a scrimmage, no score was kept or reported, and each team played 25+ different guys and tried a lot of different combos and sets. That said, there is a reason Gonzag is ranked #2 in the USA by USLacrosse.

SM sat a lot of players. A few banged up with minor dings. 3 games next on the schedule for them no need to risk more injuries. They brought up a few from the JV to play also. Don’t know about Gonzaga. It was 3 or 4 Gonzaga before major subbing started.

Any word on the Gonzaga players the left the game with a injury??
