Anyone that believes that the wsyl means something after a team that went 1-4 at the qualifiers advances to the wsyl is a fool , plain and simple .take your time and money and go on a nice vacation rather than waste your time at a tournament where everyone makes it

Some parents are more concerned with wearing their T shirt or using their team logo embroidered umbrella during a downpour. "My son plays for ABC Lax"..... XXX No, he does not. He practices with them and you cut a lot of checks for that "privilege" but he doesnt play. "Gee, thats a cool baseball cap your wearing tho..." CHECK PLEASE!!!!

Wait a minute, your team gives you umbrellas? Stop with the nonsense. People could do what they want with their $$. You know the truth -- Johnny doesn't play -- so serious question: Why does it bother you so much that Johnny's father wears the cap? We have to assume your kid "actually plays" with some team. The way you are writing, we'll assume it's not one of the Top 4 or 5 that carry 30 kids. Doesn't matter. That's still great for you and your kid. Wear that baseball cap proudly. College rosters have 50 kids on them. How many actually play? Worry about your own kid, your own wardrobe and stop stressing about other families that have no impact on your personal experience.

What’s up with the regulators goalie dad and the three stooges? It’s like 1,000 pounds of white trash. Maybe if they yelled at the refs more they would win something.

That is absolutely the strategy so people think they are almost there. Really, they never had a chance. More embarrassing than having their hopes crushed by 91, they tied their third game and almost went home early.

nobody is beating 91 this year Relax 92 dad , you will be beat. The kid you flew in from Texas and the goalie you brought down can only get you so far . There will be answers for those players and you will lose . Your team is just not that good . So you won a few games , woo hoo . Doesn't mean your unbeatable , you have been beat many times and will be beat again

91 survived.... Barley. Igloo D stifled them in 2nd half. If Igloo had an offense it would have been theirs for the taking. 91 should change their name to 50...as in 50% Because they only play 1/2 of their kids... Stifled them, that's too funny. Igloo had no offense so they have to play defense all game. Exactly the reason why they carry 15 defensive specialists. Don't preach about playing half the kids when your starters never left the field. The top programs all have 30+ kids this year, even some of the average ones. WS only allowed 25 so that's a bad deal for the kids left out or injured or maybe not It's a worse deal for the 10 kids who travelled and never saw the field. Happened with all the big programs, so get off your soapbox. If 1/2 of your roster was anything more than practice players, maybe it would have been a contest.

Keep yapping...Big Blue is coming for 91 (if they make it that far). And we wont be so easy on you this time. Pluis you wont have that Marshmellow schedule like you had in Delaware either. You will need to play 3 real games like Igloo did to win our bracket. Igloo held the mighty 91 to 1 goal in the 2nd half. You cant count that on 1 finger...ONE GOAL 91 dad. ninety ONE........I see where you get your name from.

It’s been several years since the Regulators used that against them at Laxfest and the 91 “premier” coaches still have trouble solving it.

The ice cubes will have to score to win and that looks like a problem when the popsicles score just 2. Last time I looked the ice shavings had two goals and they were beat by more than double. It only gets colder for your team from here. Brrrrr

If this was a parent, it's really, really sad. Parents talking to each other like they're actually playing. And am I missing something Igloo kid / parent? You (or your kid's team) beat Express North, Regulators (only beat Legacy) and Legacy (didn't win any) to win. How is that any different than Marshmellow 91 schedule? There were weak teams and a few strong teams that were set up to meet on Sunday, and it worked out that way. It was actually set up perfectly on both sides.

It works both ways. How would the lesser teams feel having to play Igloo, 91 and Express? Instead, a team like Regulators gets to play Legacy, Express North and one difficult game vs Igloo.

Most of us arm chair quarterbacks could have figured out a better scheme than what they ran with no success. Give regulators credit, they aren't very talented but well coached.

Great coaching is getting the most out of the players you have. Your players getting better. Your players learning the game. Saying they lost, means you know nothing about sports.

No, tournaments are not set up that certain teams win/advance, It's set up to not dilute the tournament. It's set up like all NCAA tournaments. If you are a lower ceded team (you are an underdog), you are given a chance to compete. Play well and you advance, if not you go home. That's how the best teams make it to the championship whether you are a top cede or a lower cede. The top teams are ceded because they have winning records! Two things to remember: Anyone can be beat on any given day and Everyone loves and underdog!

And then these kids will get better education, so they will know that sports aren't always judged by the final score.

However, this year at the WSYL, they're changing to an equitable outcome for the tournament. It seems that in years past, some teams where disadvantaged because they are from non-lacrosse areas. This year, when any team gets ahead by more than a goal, they will have to split that goal with the other team. That may sound like communism, but your ears and brain are deceiving you. It's equitable. Just equitable.

But I think after some research that winning matters (just a little) and winning teams are often determined by who scores the most. Research from MIT and Princeton also shows that players on winning teams often are recognized as “winners”. Additionally “winners” typically get more opportunities for a better education than the valiant, non winners. One last thing that I have learned is that the final score is usually very important. Just saying.

Research from MIT and Princeton.Lol. Obviously you didn’t go to those schools. You can’t follow the point. I’ll try one more time. A team with great players can win a lacrosse games with an 18 year old female tennis coach who can’t speak English. Do you understand that or no. The topic was great coaching. Great coaching is what was said earlier. Getting the most out of the players you have. Kids improving and getting better. Getting them playing at a higher level than they thought they could. Teaching them, motivating them. Always being early for practice and not missing every third or fourth practice. Caring about your actual players and not just their parents tuition checks. This is the guy I want my kids to play for. This is the type of coach who is worth every cent. So the he lost to me means nothing. Hope this clears the point up for you.
