Why are there games postponed next week? Covid-19??? What games? Just Hawks and True I believe because they are in the east qualifier. Madlax vs Next level VLC vs BLC Both have kids playing either Black Ops or Monuments Forgot about the combined teams which the WSYL say are not permitted. All players must compete with their team or program on a regular basis. Players cannot be added only to participate in the WSYL and teams cannot be formed out of a partnership or alliance between two or more standalone clubs. The intention of this rule is prevent the formation of all-star teams for the purpose of participating in the WSYL. At a minimum, players must compete with their team/program for at least two events (outside of a WSYL event), which can consist of tournaments and/or seasonal leagues. These events do not need to precede the qualifier but must precede the Championship event. Tournaments or Leagues must be bonafide events operated by an independent third party. WSYL reserves the right to require proof of participation and legitimacy of these events. All roster eligibility rules will be enforced at the discretion of the WSYL. They might as well delete that rule if they have the Monuments and Black Ops in the tournament.

Madlax posts rosters on their website. 29 on the Capital roster. 16 of those are on the 13U Monuments roster. So 9 kids from other clubs brought into round off the roster. Not sure if that also means 13 of those 29 are too old/holdbacks, or werent able to make the final cut for the Monuments.

The second and third sentences say that standalone clubs cannot combine, which is exactly what Black Ops has done.
But the rest of the rule says it is ok, so long as they play two tournaments.
How many players does Monuments have from outside MadLax? It appears to be very few or none.
Maybe CM kept the rosters purely MadLax so he could make a play to disqualify Black Ops?

Hawks have also added players just for WSYL, look at their roster on WSYL, they have added kids to replaced their holdbacks.

"All players must compete with their team or program on a regular basis." I guess it's how you define program, but if you define it as the club then those kids (who also have played with the team since August) are kosher. Either way, not even close to being the same as holding tryouts to create a new team to compete at WSYL.

Relax everyone, all of this has already been reviewed by WSYL and all the teams registered have been approved and there are no issues. The only thing they really care about is age and location.

I have no time to relax! I'm busy buying all the grapes to make sure they're nice and sour by the time Johnny loses! In all seriousness though, the reason for the rule against creating all-star teams is to eliminate adults manipulating and screwing with the pure joy of sports and being on a team. This isn't DI lacrosse. These are supposed to be kids having fun being together and playing a game, win or lose. As a dad on a team playing straight up, there's a very good chance my son wouldn't make an all-star team if our coach decided to go that win at all costs route. He'd get over it (and probably look for another team after the summer), but that doesn't seem to be what the WSYL is about. Good luck to Madlax and VLC. There's a long history of "superteams" in sports falling short because they're filled with hired guns. Maybe one can pull it out and make it seem worth it.

Madlax has a few kids playing up (2025) and a few playing down (2027) that are 13 year olds that are now on the team. They added a couple kids outside the program to complete their roster. They are not carrying 25 but 23.
For the WSYL, the team will be VLC (operating under the disguise as black ops). VLC is an existing club.
Other teams outside the DC area are doing the same thing. If you were in Delaware these past two weeks, teams that are in the WSYL that played had a few kids with other team's helmets on the sidelines.
The club that will benefit from this combination is DC Express at the 2026 level (I think Next Level will be regretting this) as there are rumors that NL kids that made the Blackops think they are now all that and will try and move over to DC Express next year as they want to play in national tournaments like NAL (which NL cannot offer). They may also have a few kids from VLC do the same if the logistics make sense for the parents to drive. If DC Express gets the talent at the 2026 level, Blackops is done.

The Crabs game was painful to watch. Heard the current team is now made up of re-classed players except two that are on age (this was confirmed when VLC reach out to Crabs for players for the WSYL).

For monuments, I do not believe anyone rostered does not actually play for Madlax. They brought a 25 down, a few 27's up. Their team is a Madlax team. That u13 Black Ops team is going to have problems though. They are an all star team and made up of at least 5 different teams players. The u14 is mainly 3 teams. But either way, there are rumblings that they will not be able to participate in the WSYL even IF they qualify.... which does not look good at the moment.
It seems that there is a lot less holdback discussion at any level other than the "elite" bracket. holdbacks are killing youth lacrosse. Little goalie Johnny should dominate 2026 if he is 14/almost 15 years old when everyone else at 2026 is 12/13. Same with the monster pole "Pete" who is 6'2'' and 14 little 12 yr old attackers all over the field.
The older kids should physically dominate. It is not that they are simply better, but more developed and have the advantage. Love the excuses that their kids had a stutter so they held him back....please
I know, in High school it will not matter.

Can somebody fill me in on how the qualifier works? On Saturday Black Ops appears to have one hard game (Tigers 26) and two easy ones, and all three of Monuments' games look pretty easy.
If either team sweeps or goes 2-1, does that mean that they advance to July, or is there another round on Sunday with harder games?

Nothing new here. They can compete now because of the returning 7th graders, only reason. Leave them be, they know no better, and more importantly the parents do not care what they have done to their kids socially nor would they admit it.

The top two teams from each bracket go to the championship bracket. Top 6 will move on to the WSYL out of the bracket.

FCA lost to True....For real???? Yes, True beat FCA 6-5. Not sure why you find that surprising. FCA is rebuilding after some player losses, and True believes that it is on the way up. I expect them both to finish somewhere between 5th and 9th (out of 10 teams) in the Elite division, and to play a close game against one another, which is what happened.

Of the ten teams in 2026 HoCo elite, which do you consider for profit? Unlike rec teams, I thought that most or all are making money for somebody.
I never considered a correlation between profit and success on the field, but go ahead and list the for profits, and maybe you are on to something.
