There are a million ways to answer this very important question:
1.Does anyone really care?
2. Favored for what? Paying the most for a tee shirt and an over-hyped experience?
3. Body By Jake: He's the one making bank
4. The Club Directors (see above)
5. Professionals helping parents that come back broke and tee shirt-less
Any other impactful questions?

The North qualifier is in Frederica, Delaware on March 27th and 28th. Same days and location as the East qualifier. Should be a busy day with both qualifiers going on in the same place. The facility has about 12 fields.

Covid, masks, vaccines, whatever....stay on point. The event is a scam. Im not saying it a bad thing but the marketing of it and the kool aide aspect of it is what makes it a joke. The kids are pawns and the parents are sheep. .Baaaah ! Baaaaah! Why are they having the qualifiers in Delaware this year if this region's qualifier has been held on Long Island since inception of the big "event"? Can anyone answer that intelligently?

Covid restrictions at Cantiaque which is run by the county. Same reason almost all summer tournaments typically on Long Island (spring lax jam, lax fest, etc) have been moved to NJ.

Translation: Circumvention to collect $. They are all about getting paid..not about the Lax, as they advertise. If you live on LI you have to drive 3 1/2 hrs to play all LI teams...what a shafting.

Last time I checked we are all adults and make adult decisions. If you don't want to go, don't go. These lacrosse clubs and tournaments are running businesses. There jobs are to provide a service. We are the suckers who pay the inflated prices.

There is no intelligent answer other than to skirt the current covid restrictions in place on LI. The owners of the event refused to refund last years event, otherwise teams would have moved on. Clubs equally to blame because they run their own events and won't rock the boat by demanding refunds. Now we're forced to travel, pay for hotels, to play other LI teams. If you advance you get to spend to travel again (now twice) to see basically the same teams. Yes we are all stunands and will continue to get fleeced.

They smartened up, pulled their teams from this "event" and decided they could play more meaningful tournaments locally?

Actually more than half of the teams listed in the East qualifier are non LI teams. It wont hurt you to get off the Island for a day.

You, of course, realize that if you got sick off hospital food and died, you'd be listed as a COVID death, right? Hospitals get a bigger payout from the gov't and get to keep their non-COVID-related mortality rates low. Win-win for them. I'm not saying that hundreds of thousands of people have not died from COVID, I'm sure they have, I'm only saying don't believe the numbers you've been spoon-fed. Case in point - Cuomo killed Grandma.

It is indeed terrible that 500,000 people have died from COVID, but it's not due to people going to their kid's lacrosse tournaments. Again, it's terrible what's happened - let's try to make it through this together, not divided.

It depends on how many other regions continue to pull out. Last year they added an additional team from this region as they were short from other regions. The other regions are wise to the lie and are pulling out. Heck, so is Warrior for that matter: They actually cxl'd their sponsership after this year. No more free Fiddle sticks...Oh well! T shirts for everyone!! To answer your question, last year it was 6 and this year it will probably be more. Like the guy above said: Write the check and you too can be a "World Series Team". Be sure to buy the WSYL swag too as I am sure they will be cramming it down your throats at every turn! Good luck and stay safe!

What are the clubs doing to reduce their rosters for WSYL or do they? We are currently at 28 kids, just added another goalie so we have 2. Club hasn't communicated and yes I'm afraid to ask.

$3k is probably just the base fee. Then there are all of the extras: "Trainings" , additional scrimmages/games, etc that cost something. Throw in some Swag, hotels, meals, travel & whatever else they can squeeze you for. For that price, you should have the director on speed dial to find out what they are going to do if you carry 28 kids and only 25 can participate.
"Dont ask... dont get" Cha ching

Afraid to ask a question. Good God. That’s what happens to some of these people. They are so brainwashed by some of these coaches and directors. It’s laughable. I don’t think I can ever say those words IM AFRAID TO ASK. Oh by the way and I’m paying thousands.

NJ just declared a public health emergency. How in the H do people from NY think it's ok to travel to a 2 day tournament in Delaware. "Out-of-State Travel. Any individual who participates in an out-of-state tournament or competition (e.g., ice hockey, basketball, football, competitive cheer or dance) is strongly encouraged to immediately self-quarantine in accordance with DPH guidance from the time of entry into Delaware or for the duration of the individual’s presence in Delaware, whichever period is shorter". Boys lacrosse is still deemed in DE as a HIGH risk sport.

For travelers who were out-of-state for more than 24 hours: Travelers must obtain a test within three days of departure, prior to arrival in New York. The traveler must, upon arrival in New York, quarantine for three days. On day 4 of their quarantine, the traveler must obtain another COVID test. If both tests comes back negative, the traveler may exit quarantine early upon receipt of the second negative diagnostic test. All this for a youth lacrosse tournament. You are NUTS!
