My son plays for the Crabs. He has never been told he cannot play for a National team. Based upon what I know of the program, they would not hold playing for a National team against him, as long as it does not conflict with his responsibilities to the Crabs.

Translation: The poster is calling you a fool for being too focused on Crabs and Hawks, and encouraging you to focus your energy on your son and whichever team he plays for. Hope this helps. Struck a nerve of a crabs/hawk parent. You guys are sensitive lol

You may want to check with King Crab; in the past it was not allowed, Crabs Only.

What's with all of the editing? Forget all that editing - lets address why we have Black Ops and Monuments Its funny that Madlax, BLC, VLC, Next Level or insert whatever team cant enter WSYL and have to try and make an All Star team lol This is why Express will win WSYL

I know the Crabs and Hawks will not allow their kids play on National Teams; never understood why; ego would be my guess. First I have heard of this team being put together; is this an invite only or are their tryouts; my son would be interested for sure?[/Most team picked, but they left a few roster spots open for picking up last minute players. You should email them if you are interested.

Eligibility rules from WSYL website: “ All players must compete with their team or program on a regular basis. Players cannot be added only to participate in the WSYL and teams cannot be formed out of a partnership or alliance between two or more standalone clubs. The intention of this rule is prevent the formation of all-star teams for the purpose of participating in the WSYL. At a minimum, players must compete with their team/program for at least two events (outside of a WSYL event), which can consist of tournaments and/or seasonal leagues. These events do not need to precede the qualifier but must precede the Championship event. ”

Spring Break Thaw schedule now up on the Machine. Who will be the winners of the day based upon the schedule? Not a single game between Crabs/Hawks/Madlax? Total joke. I guess we will have to wait till HoCo. Madlax hasn’t played top elite HoCo teams since Spring of 2019. Hawks and Crabs will both beat them soundly!

Can somebody explain what is meant by ducking - do the teams actually have control over who they play?
And do the people who do the scheduling (club directors and program directors I assume?) really pay attention to which teams are excited/afraid to play other teams?
Obviously parents and kids have on control over which opponents they play, and I am guessing that coaches' input is limited too.

Its not uncommon for a coach to call his club director/tournament director and ask to change opponents, game times or field venues especially if they run the tournament. Many of the tournament directors want teams to come back year after year and will try and work with clubs. At 2k a team its just smart business

This is especially true in a Madlax run tournament.

I think everyone will agree that a few kids that are a few months too old for the WS, all of who have been playing 2026 for years is different than 1/3 of last years 2025 Crabs team now playing 2026
