Having coached against and watched several FCA teams across different age groups and locations I can say they in no way represent any values whatsoever attributed to Christ. Parents and coaches exhibit zero sportsmanship and do nothing but yell at refs and players on both sides. Should rebrand as FWTA. Fellowship of White Trash Athletics. Old news

LOL, 2026 FCA player telling Scotty Rodgers he stinks on Instagram. 5th grade boys do dumb things. Grown men with thin skin who spotlight the comment of a fifth grade boy to try to get the kid in trouble are the ones you need to worry about.

And this is why my kids don't have social media... Even by FCA standards, the coaches of the 2026 team are a new low. No issues with most of the players (tons of cheap shots of course, but usually from the lesser players not their studs), but the comments coming from that coaching staff directed at opposing players is almost beyond belief. I think every team that has played them has some story of what the FCA coaches called kids during the game no matter if they are winning or losing.

Unreal! Especially at that young age. Couldn't imagine saying some of the stuff these coaches say to 10 and 11 year old kids. But you know...anything for the win. Don't waste your time on player development for the future years when it really matters.

Fellowship of Kelly Athletes..... Praise Jebus...Give us your money. very true, FCA is notorious for having a couple spots available at tryouts and yet allow over 100 kids to pay the tryout fee. Most other top clubs have invite tryouts in high school.

FCA must be doing something right to have this many people commenting negatively .
FCA's who feeds Calvert Hall, has stomped the rest of MIAA last 4 years and will continue too. I guess that has created some bad feelings.

Most big Clubs ( Lax, BB, Football, etc ) are non profit yet somehow the Directors dont work a day job.

Can somebody explain the history/background on this club? I have seen the behavior from 2027 and 2026 coaches and parents that everybody talks about on the forum, and always wondered about the organization. What exactly is the connection to FCA and who runs the lacrosse program?

Just to be clear, FCA is an international organization but the described behavior of the Maryland FCA teams is not the norm for all FCA clubs. FCA has teams all over the Country run by different directors and I can tell you, what is being described is not going on in the Upstate FCA program in NY.

Think of FCA as a franchise. The MD franchise owned and run by the Kellys. They are Catholics of a more evangelical persuasion. Im sorry, I dont have any experiance with the younger teams.

What exactly is the connection to FCA and who runs the lacrosse program? FCA formed when the Calvert Hall varsity coaches realized that they can make FCA a feeder program to Calvert Hall. If you want to play for CH and aren't an exceptional lax player then it is strongly suggested that you play for FCA. FCA gutted Green Turtle lax program as well las Looney's 2017 & 2018 grad years. Green Turtle never really recovered, they tried merging with Laxword but that didn't workout. Looney's did recover in the 2016 & 2020 grad years, with the 2023 year a step behind the top clubs but still competitive.
