Does anyone know if the Looneys 2025 team is still together? With no tryouts and numerous families leaving it’s hard to believe this club will survive; with no 27 or 28 teams to speak of as well. I believe the 26s still have a team but I’m not 100% sure. Does anyone have info that would be willing to share?

2026 team had some changes but still intact. Dunno about the other teams.

Looneys tried to have a 2028 team two years ago I think. Didn’t materialize.

That's a shame. I don't get why Looneys has the most expensive tryouts. True is only $25 and destroyed them in 2027 AAA.

Shell of itself. Only a matter of time, and Looneys and all its glory goes extinct

Wow, we've gone from locker room needling to outright nasty. They be some fights brewing up in here.

I long for the days when we just talked about saltwater moms, how hawks was just going to win all the time, and crabs was a bunch of holdbacks and everyone else stinks.

Seems like the good folks at LB would put some horsepower behind rejuvenating the club but I guess not.

What makes you say that? Do you have facts, or are you just trying to be one of the "as a whole" people on here who like to bash youth lacrosse clubs?

Name 1 team other than the 2026 that is still in tact? My exodus at every age group.

Hmmm. Looneys has no 24 team, horrible 25 team, no 27 team and their 26 starting defense left as a group. Sounds like an IMPLOSION to me

It’s a shame about looneys, they were a nice club, and fielded some great teams. What was the recipe for the collapse?

Looney's has a 24 team and a 23 team. Club lax is a fickle universe especially here in bmore. You have to be shameless in your recruitment of little lax rats. Looney's director is a coach at LB. I'm guessing his interest is pulling kids to Looneys in middle school that are headed there. The former director would recruit coaches from rec programs - LTRC, Carroll Manor, Kelly Post, Freedom etc. And they would bring their best kids from those programs. Some of those rec programs are keeping their kids by branding as club... at least in 4th-6th grades. So I think all clubs teams are struggling in younger age groups. Look at the records of young FCA, Crabs, 91. There are pitfalls in parent coaching but they are the best to pull in the kids at their child's grade.

Crabs hawks and other big names have been getting crushed by the established, local recs who have rebranded. HoCo, PLC, Bel Air, Forest Hill. The scare tactics of early recruiting have been squashed. Parents realize there is good lax in the local recs again.

And those parents are now paying 10 times more than what they paid for rec ball for a club team that's really just a rec team with a new name that plays in a couple of tournaments.

So Crabs,FCA, 91 and hawks are struggling because good younger kids choose to play at hoco,PLC,bel air and forest hill? Find hard time believing that.I’m not going to say anything bad about those rec/club teams but hard to compare the 2.

Not sure who brought Hawks into this. Their model working fine. More than Baltimore clubs. Look at the records of 2029,30 yes they are losing to the likes of lutherville and kelly post because they are getting the top players from those programs

Its not happening at the older age groups, but the dude is right. Below '28, there were some interesting scores this year in HoCo and in tournaments. Some of those rec clubs are pretty darn good. Not all, but some.

Clubs were the end all to be all for the last few years, Had to be in them no matter what talent or age. Many Parents finally catching on, Unless you think your son is going D1 or has crazy good talent, why expensive Club?? And at young age of 1-4 grade,, Crazy to spend that on Club when rec with some private lessons will get you much more.

Club lacrosse should go back to starting in 5th grade, with players playing Recreational programs up until then. Paying $2000 for anything below 5th grade is dense. My $.02

Sure Rec dad. Let’s see how it works out for blue claws and forest hill and HLC in middle school.

Your posting records of third graders and using it as a litmus for anything substantial?

Elementary school lacrosse with the exception of a few elite programs is a total game to game tossup. Play Rec until middle school. Unless your kid is good enough to play elite that is.

Otherwise save your money.

Well considering no club can field 2 teams in elite division don’t think this comment makes any sense. You judge a club on there lowest talented team?

They are fielding teams that can’t even beat rec teams. Did those parents pay a discount to be on the B team?
It’s a straight up money grab.
And those are the Crabs “A” teams that are losing.
😂

Crabs only has one team at those ages-so yes their "A" team. It is a money grab. Crabs teams usually don't get better until 8th grade(this years 8th grade team was very average), so not worth it. In 8th grade "Hold M back Mac" tries to redo the team because he is now "involved" as a coach and wants to coach a winning team so at least he looks good. Poor business model for player, great for Mac.

Same old lame response. Why would we leave our rec teams when we regularly beat the crabs?

Congratulations on being obsessed about 3rd and 4th grade lacrosse . No rec teams in 28 elite or above that age group. Everything changes in middle school to high school. But I’m sure you know that If your the lost that spent all the time posting teams complete seasons. Surprised you didn’t know all the tournaments also. Get a life

Wasnt there a "rec" team atop the HoCo 28 AAA?
Was it Hoco Pink?

Not HoCO. They were at the bottom. Blue Claws and KP were the tops of AAA and beat some elites this summer. Forest Hill had some good tourneys too.
KP was assumed by True at the beginning of the season so they are essentially a rec.
