Nassau Class A Championship

Farmingdale (1) defeats Massapequa (2), 11-9

Nassau Class B Championship

Manhasset (2) defeats Garden City (1), 14-8

Nassau Class C Championship

North Shore (2) defeats Cold Spring Harbor (1), 18-13

Highlights

The Lady Dalers overcame a 5-2 deficit early in the third quarter with three and four goal runs including the final goal with 4:44 remaining. Farmingdale ran a successful five minute stall to close the game. While the Chiefs intercepted the ball with two minutes remaining, only one pass was needed for the Lady Dalers to regain control.

Manhasset won the draw control battle, 16-8, on their way to upsetting the seven time defending and top seeded Garden City Trojans. Danielle Gallagher leads the Indians to the Class B Championship. The win avenges the 10-9 regular season overtime loss suffered by the Indians.

North Shore outscored CSH in the second half, 9-5, on route to their 18-13 repeat as county champions. Like Manhasset, the North Shore Vikings avenged their regular season loss to the Seahawks.

It's real simple. EVERY team has issues with Mt Sinai and their culture. Is every one wrong? Should everyone just "move on" after having to tolerate that behavior? Should a kid be told it's OK to lower your hand and shoulder a player during the post game
hand shake? OBVIOUSLY THE ANSWER IS NO AND THIS GOES WAY BEYOND ONE GAME. ITS A CULTURE OF UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR THAT PERMEATES THIS PROGRAM FROM THE PARENTS TO THE PLAYERS TO THE

Let's see how many people will share their personal Mt Sinai experiences.

Cold Spring Harbor coach chokes again in another big game. Can't win the big one.

Manhasset finally gets over the hump and gets the GC monkey off their back.

Farmingdale escapes a close one with Massapequa.

LI Championships:

A: Suffolk Champ - Bay Shore/Ward Melville winner over Farmingdale
B: Manhasset over winner of Sayville/ESM
C: Mt. Sinai over North Shore

How have the refs been at playoff games this year???
I have been to a couple games and have seen some pretty bad calls or missed calls going both ways. Not much to affect the games outcome. Did see one call at very end of game where a girl from the winning team was issued a red card for a mid field illegal check/push, no stick contact and mild looking. It deserved a foul, place her 3 yards behind, blow whistle, continue play. With seconds left, bad call takes her off field and has her sitting for championship game. This unwarrented call may very well affect the outcome of that game. I saw the same exact foul get called at least a dozen times in the same game. For the most part I don't have problems with the calls refs make as long as they are consistant both ways, this was not.

In this case it was 30 meters behind, back to the bench.

whose "everyone"? thats such an immature statememt!! maybe your an immature sore loser, but dont start speaking for "everyone" I happen to know many SWR parents and they dont seem to have the problem that you have with MS. So patheric that your trying to get "everyone" to take your bait and start trashing a team just because they beat you. There are many very nice SWR parents whose kids play together on travel {yes, even some SWR kids play for YJ!!} and they tell me what idiot parents they have on their own team. I think "everyone" would agree that its you!

Bay Shore handled Ward Melville easily tonight. Too much talent on Bay Shore squad. Some yellow cards but more frustration than anything else. Actually a pretty clean game. If Bay Shore has flaws it is in the draw and goal.

Don't think the coaching had much to do with it, very sloppy play and ball handling led to many, many turn overs for sayville and they flat out could not execute on offense, and were a step behind on the hustle. ESM put the pressure on the players and they couldn't handle it. Sayville had a good year but esm looked like the better team player wise. Congrats to both teams making it to final. Btw- not a esm parent.

I wouldn't say B.S. handled W.M. I have seen them play a lot, and I thought they struggled until mid 2nd half. Probably just jitters and adrenaline , but played a little sloppy, missed passes and forcing a lot. Still the apex of class A.
I also watched the B game. Sayville, I thought, has a very strong D but lacks an offense of strategy, E.S.M. plays very physical, goes for the "man" and not the ball, goalie is good outside the cage but easily beat when opponent is on the line for free position, not a real good stopper.
Watched the A, and B nassau games also. A game was a real slugfest between F-Dale and Mass. but I don't think either team could beat B.S. (too much talent and team game on B.S.) The B game was real good. 2 of the best , with a lot of history slugging it out. Very clean lacrosse and a pleasure to watch. Hard to see either team lose. Though E.S.M. is good I don't think they stand a chance against 'Set. Way to much talent and will easily figure out E.S.M.

it was 6-2 at one point and 16-8 final, when did they struggle? Give Ward Melville credit they are a good team with a handful of very talented kids. Bay Shore had one Yellow Card, a non factor. Bay Shore's had a few sloppy plays from defenders trying to force ball up field but that probably had more to do with the pace of game BS was trying to play. Should be a battle on Sunday.

What! ESM totally outcoached Sayville. He did not make adjustments. Had his tallest defender on bench whole game against their 6 foot 2 girl. Last time they met she prevented her from scoring. Had two short defenders in instead..
Not a Sayville player just someone who has watched the games this season. A good coach makes adjustments and he did not. Oh yeah, he made one adjustment, he took the goalie out for last almost 6 minutes of game. That was a smart move.

Ward Melville nothing special if you look at score. East Islip played them much tougher! WM nothing special. When you lose by 8 thats not a close game.

You are such a loser its not even funny. You act like you are some great judge of lacrosse talent when you are nothing more than a jealous parent of a kid who is most likely a goalie."Goalie is good outside the cage" , The only goalie that is good inside the cage is probably your daughter because she has so much practice every time the other team scores she has to go inside the cage to get the ball.Have seen the ESM goalie many times and watched her play at the past schoolgirls games and she is without a doubt one of the best on the island.Kid is verbally committed to Notre Dame as a 10 grader yet you feel the need to knock her abilities. You are a clown.

I have not seen Farmingdale play this year but a prior post states they are a physical team (when are they not?). If they can get under Bay Shore's skin they have a tendency to react and not in a good way. That could be a factor.

I watched BS/WM and was not impressed with BS defense. A good offense can take advantage. BS also switched up goal at half which is not their norm (I asked a BS parent to confirm) and was not impressed with either goalie. They were also not good on the draw.

BS can score at will. Very efficient offense. If a team can get them in a shootout they are vulnerable.

Don't know the particulars and personel of your team, and yes a good coach can make up for being out matched player wise, but that only goes so far. What I saw was esm was a better team physically and talent to go along with what may have been better coaching. Don't know what the end stats for the game were as far as turnovers but it was obvious who won that battle.

Though E.S.M. is good I don't think they stand a chance against 'Set. Way to much talent and will easily figure out E.S.M.

Easy dad, I said it was my opinion. And yes my daughter is a goalie, and yes she does give up goals, and yes she is a better stopper than your daughter , though not as good outside the crease. no I am not bitter, my daughter is being scouted by to D1 schools, and the fact that your daughter verbled as a 10th grader means very little.

Bay Shore handled Ward Melville easily tonight. Too much talent on Bay Shore squad. Some yellow cards but more frustration than anything else. Actually a pretty clean game. If Bay Shore has flaws it is in the draw and goal.

Funny how she knew you were a goalie parent. Uh and yeah it is a big deal regarding recruiting. The better goalies are the first to be recruited because there are so few per college team. She is an excellent goalie. Made the Under Armour team as Freshman. You said she's good outside the cage then you said she's not good in crease. Save the agenda, probably that crazy goalie Dad we all know about.

Being recruited early means nothing, plenty of early verbles never make it onto the field in college. Making the U.A. team as a freshman is not a huge feat when C.R. and T.W. are making the cuts. Remember who the second Goalie was last year. another Jacket , and she walked around the track on the second day, less than a stealer performance, but a yellow jacket none the less. Easy to make that team when daddy coaches a team that C.R. draws from. I have no agenda, nor do I care, Its just my opinion. If you know who I am, and think I'm crazy thats fine, I also don't care. I know this for sure, 'Set is going to ring it up on her because when she sets up she's almost on her knees, and leaning to the right. Its one thing to bait a shooter, its another if your off balance, giving up half the goal. Easy pickins for a team of good shooters like the Indians

The goalie you are talking about is not my daughter, does not play for my daughters high school, is not the same age as my daughter.I called you a loser because in my opinion you have to be a loser to come on here and critique a 16 year old goalie .It was also easy to see that you are a jealous little man who has a daughter that has obviously been in the shadow of the better goalies on long island and it kills you.Next tell your daughter and yourself it's all politics and Notre Dame has no idea what they are talking about. Why don't you let us know what team your daughter plays for so we can all criticize her ability you coward.

If you only care about the feelings of a 16 year old girl than where was the outrage when a poster said that B.S. weakness was goaltending? I pointed out a weakness of a team that another will key on . Besides the opinion of a loser like me will not dissuade her at all. If you knew who my daughter is , and the accomplishments she has achieved in this season alone I think you would change your mind. She sits in no ones shadow. I am sure N.D. saw what they like and thats there decision to take her or not. But if you think that politics has no bearing on girls lacrosse , especially in suffolk county than sir , you are the loser as far as calling me a coward , I don't see your name posted either. The one who sounds angry is you. If you don't like my opinion thats fine , but are you so small minded that you , as an adult , need to resort to name calling?

Dear Goalie parents,

Our kids play a tough position. We should all be complementary of one another and back each other up against those that love to blame losses on goalies.

I have not come on this site to critique a 16 year old girl for all to see as only a loser like you would .If I knew who your daughter was I would feel sorry for her having such a coward for a father. Your daughter realizes that the only reason you criticize other young girls is the insecurity you have in her ability. You are so transparent ,so easy to predict, 1rst prediction was your daughter is a goalie, proven correct. Next prediction you will blame politics for the reason your daughter missed certain accolades, proven correct. Multiple predictions that your a loser, again proven correct. The way you have decided to overly correct a 16 year old girl makes me think you may have moved from loser into stalker .Please fill us in on your daughters accolades this past year, my guess is unfortunately for her ,zero. You obviously know the kid well enough to know who her father is so you should approach him next time you see him and offer your expertise ,next prediction is your too much of a coward to even think about it.Congrats to your daughter that she still enjoys the game with such a loser for a father.
